  1. Ben-hur is, to me, one of those epic, classic movies that can't be improved upon. I'll never be able to picture anyone but Charlie Heston in that role. So I hope this remake isn't style-over-substance. Glad the players liked it. I'll be waiting to see the reviews.
  2. A lot of people see Roethlisburger as the epitome of "tough" quarterback. But I think Flacco has him beat.
  3. Save it for the other teams, fellas.
  4. Let the fin begin! L0ooking forward to this season.
  5. I wanted to "like" this post, but I couldn't figure out how,,,,
  6. "As a reference point, former Ravens wide receiver Torrey Smith had arguably his best season after cutting off his dreads...." I can;t help but mention that in order to have a best season, you first have to have a season.
  7. If Joe doesn't want to be "average" any more, maybe he could marry a supermodel and start deflating balls.
  8. Please don't misinterpret what I am about to write below. I love Justin Tucker. He is a phenomenal player, a true Raven, and should be here for life. I would love to see him surpass every record set by Matt Stover. He is a great guy with much to offer on and off the field. But... I can't see spending oodles of money on a kicker. Yes, I know a good kicker can win a game in the clutch; but with a great offense and defense, you need to rely on the kicker less and less. Yes, Tucker had a huge leg and can put the ball thru the end zone on every kickoff, but lots of guys can do that. I hope they get this worked out and lock him up. But if push comes to shove, I wouldn't cave on his demands. Okay, if you really feel like you have to thumb me down, so be it.
  9. Whatever it is, if it's more important to you than your very lucrative career, then it is an addiction.
  10. Seriously. Never a good idea to get suspended, but especially when you are the fifth man fighting for a three-man job.
  11. I could tolerate a year where the Bengals don't make the postseason. :)
  12. Too funny! And true! They took the word "playoffs" out of the Cleveland dictionary.
  13. Well, remember, this is also the media in Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, and Cleveland. What are the Browns' reporters going to say? "Looks like another year in which Baltimore, the city who stole our team, is going to the Superbowl, while the replacement Browns will have another 2-14 season."
  14. Crap like this makes me so glad I don't do Twitter or Facebook or any of that junk. Man, you can really screw up someone's life by posting fake death notices. Really, really sick in the head.
  15. I'm with you. We are always the most competitive division. Sometimes I have actually wished we were in the AFC West so that we could into the playoffs with an 8-8 record.
  16. Welcome to Ravens Nation! You are a lot closer to Buffalo and New England, but you picked the right team.
  17. But Flacco's not a leader, right pundits?
  18. Cracks me up how people read a couple of articles and then suddenly think they know better than the Ravens' staff as to who should go and who should stay. Monroe has been released. I'm sure there were good reasons, and not all of them are intended to be public. Meanwhile, let's cheer on Stanley and go win some games.
  19. No one should blame Perriman for his injuries, and no one has a right to condemn his work ethic, commitment, etc. It's not his fault. Period. But ... we did (so far) waste a pick on the guy, and that is what's frustrating. The fact that he has never once practiced or taken the field carries some real negative connotations with it, and those are unavoidable. I'm sure no one is as frustrated as Perriman, but we're all frustrated.
  20. I guess Richardson should have said, "I'd like to play two or three more years, be slightly better than mediocre, retire at 30 and be broke by 40." Why would anyone laugh at a guy who basically says, "I want to give it all I've got. I want to be great. I want to be memorable." Isn't that every player's dream? Makes no sense to me.
  21. But there's a definite silver lining there: first, he got injured in the middle of a season that was down the drain anyway - so he probably even helped the team by letting Schaub and Clausen secure some L's, pushing us higher on the draft order; second, all signs point towards him being 100% by the time it starts to matter. Not to mention the potential added benefit that the time he had to miss may have helped developing a kind of football hunger for him - which is seldom a bad thing... Funny picture: Flacco and Pitta show up on opening day with handicap tags, then go out and rack up three touchdowns. :)
  22. Teams that we have to beat, in priority order: Steelers Patriots Bengals Browns (just to save embarrassment)
  23. I can relate to what Sapp is saying. I really don't think he cares if Timmy wears his number or not. I just think he is a little miffed that Timmy never called him.
