  1. I wanted that too until I remembered they host the Steelers opening night.
  2. I believe it was Mayock who put it best. We basically have one receiving TE (Williams), one blocking TE (Boyles), and one middle of the road guy (Gillmore). That sounds fine to me.
  3. Well last year we had both games but choked them away. Even so, I enjoy the fact that they do sort of have our number and yet we get further in the postseason than them every year.
  4. I think the story will be similar to recent years. We will be good but not great in the regular season while we build up steam and the offense gels with so many new pieces and a new coordinator. But we'll be at our best when it matters most playing deep into January.
  5. I'm not sure but we'll know for sure if he is starting game 1 lined up against Demaryius Thomas. lol
  6. Having a good QB probably has something to do with it. I think people make too much out of Ozzie's history drafting WRs when its only been in the last few years where we've had a decent enough offense.
  7. Steelers fans are already going on about how Jesse James will be better than Maxx. lol. Maxx reminds me so much of Todd Heap and his name is perfect for fans when he makes a big play. Instead of Heaaaaaaap. Now it will be Maxxxxxxxxxxxx!
  8. I agree. I think he will have a role because of Trestman. I also think any comparrison to other late round big guys we've drafted before like Tommy Streeter or Clarence Moore isn't fair. Waller had good production considering he played in a triple option offense plus he should be a good run blocker. That makes him an ideal red zone candidate not just for catching TD's but blocking as well.
  9. Championship! lol
  10. I love these reaction videos.
  11. I enjoyed that too. My question to him would have been "Then why did you take nearly all your allotted time to turn in the pick?" We know the Steelers rarely make trades so it is highly unlikely they were looking to trade down and still get their guy.
  12. That goes for all fans. I have been browsing Steeler forums and they are even more negative it seems.
  13. Something to keep in mind is the 5th we used to trade up to grab him was one of the two we got from Detroit for Ngata. The other two 5th rounders we had were compensatory and not tradable so we really needed that pick.
  14. Not only that but it seems the Steelers may have panicked when we took Maxx and reached for a need. This is a quote from the Pittsburg Post Gazette Golson, the little cornerback, seemed surprised to be taken in the second round. “I had no idea they would pull the trigger on me this early.”
  15. I love how young he is too. He just turned 21 in April. There is definitely room to grow.
  16. It's crazy reading multiple fantasy predictions saying they raised his expectations for Perriman because he went to Baltimore. I didn't think I would ever hear something like that.
  17. That's what I've been saying. I wasn't thrilled with the pick because of the drops but Perriman is at LEAST another Torrey but the potential is a legit #1. Michael Irvin compared him to Andre Johnson for crying out loud. Some fans may not like it from a value perspective because we got Torrey a full round later than Perriman but think of where our offense would have been without Torrey these last 4 years. We need a deep threat for this offense to be at its best.
  18. I had my reservations about him before the draft. I can't stand drops. Having said that, he was around the 14th or 15th rated player on both Mayock and Kiper's boards and I saw an interview with Harbaugh with WBAL saying he was 14th or 15th on their board. Thats value even if it wasn't a need also. I see Perriman being another Torrey Smith at worst but with the potential to be even better. It's hard not to like it when you think of it that way. Here is the video of Harbaugh's interview. If our scouts had him rated this high than what's not to like? We either trust in them or we don't.
  19. I agree. Bennett seems like a bit of a malcontent anyway.
  20. Maybe with the salary cap going up so much in the past couple years we could afford both but I doubt it. Paying both guards top dollar and still being able to afford to pay other key positions is just not feasible especially when you have a franchise QB to pay. If you want an example just look at the Saints. I'm sure the Ravens will try to keep both but at at the end of the day another team will overpay KO and he will be the next Raven to leave. That became clear to me last year watching how well Urshel played as a rookie. If the 80/20 rule applied to a player the caliber or Ngata than it will apply to KO as well. KO at around $7 million or Urshel at about $500K. The talent disparity is not THAT huge between them. Also, the $7 million figure might be low. Mike Iupati got $8 from the Cardinals this off season.
  21. I hope so. A $3 mil cap hit for someone that history suggests will never see a single meaningful snap seems a bit high especially considering the tough pill we had to swallow by trading away Ngata to get this valuable cap space.
  22. I hope it is for at or near the veteran minimum.
  23. Just saw this myself. That is crazy low. Even if he is only an "average" player that is a steal. The guy has started every game in his 5 year career so far.
  24. Interesting. I didn't think he was making that much to begin with but the end result is the same as Webb...he took a pay cut. I wonder how much.
  25. So we still don't have contract details besides that it is a 3 year deal? It can't be a big contract since the guy Houston signed to replace him (Raheem Moore) signed a relatively small contract.
