1.
Yeah that's what I'm thinking and yeah hopefully it's a pretty good Tribute Video and not just thrown together using clips from the DVD they made.(like what they have on WWE.com for his tribute)

Like I said, it's a damn shame now that he will finally get his spot in the HOF and we won't be able to hear his speech from him how he would have said it.

Can't believe Vince held a grudge with him for so long.
i haven't followed wrestling since the nwo days...what was Vince's problem with Savage?

  2. You know, for the longest time I used to tease the guys I know who cried when Dale Earnhardt died. I thought to myself how could those goofs cry over the death of someone they never met or knew personally.Sad to say, I understand it now with this news of Macho.God bless.

  3. Okay, just in heaven right now!!! Performed my first mods on the BMW 335i. I just upgraded from the stock LSD to an OS Giken LSD yesterday, and today had the ECU reflashed with GIAC (they claim +70 HP and +80 lb-ft -- butt dyno confirms it). It already feels like a whole new car; it was no slouch stock, but is so much more aggressive when launching from a stand still, power delivery is smoother than stock (or so it feels) and top end is just, well, fun haha... Used to have a 300ZX that made 390 HP at the wheels, these two cars feel about the same .... god bless twin turbos 6's :D

  4.
Never used to come to the "off topic" area until recently, but I'm a car guy to the fullest extent.

My arsenal consists of:

2003 745i - black on black on black sittin on 22's (RIP!!!)
2007 X5 - silver with limo tint (nothing done to it, so its a kid friendly car)
1993 Mercedes 190e - lowered a bit and doesn't leave the garage (only 106k miles)
1977 Jeep CJ7- 100% restored, fiberglass tub, 4" BDS lift, 33's and a monster 401 AMC V8
2004 Yota Tacoma - DD and boring as hell
Love the X5! Was strongly looking for an excuse to get that instead of the ML320, but couldn't justify the price difference (well, you know me, I can justify anything lmao...but just couldn't get the deal I was looking for)

  5. So, ended up selling the Bimmers and the ML320.

The ML320 got replaced with a 2007 BMW 335i. Hate to admit it, but the new fascia has really grown on me. Not going to do anything with this car; will be my daily driver for a while.

Also picked up a 1993 BMW 740iL as a 'toy' car to mod/mess around with. Comes stock with the 4.0L V8. Off the line, nothing special...thing is a freaking tank, weighing in at 4500lbs. But out on the highway, acceleration is pretty good from 40mph+ considering the weight of the car. Right now, I'm debating between completely stripping the car down and hopefully shed around 1000lbs of weight (and believe me, that is actually an attainable goal with this car) and take advantage of an awesome motor, or just restoring to OEM spec and using it as a weekend cruiser..

  6. quad turbocharged.... oh my haha. Couldn't they get 1000 hp out of the engines in the Toyota Supra with only a twin turbo?

They've pulled a lot more than 1k horses out of the Supra motors, most are twin turbo, some are single turbo, and even a few tri-turbo setups. Nothing you'd want to ride on the street though. But streetable 800+ HP Supras are a dime a dozen in some places.

  7. Dang what the heck is that? It looks like an Audi in the fist picture.

And are you kidding 549, the ZR1 would SPANK a Viper.

The reason for the Camaro is there are only going to be so many made, ole man doesn't want what everybody else has.

It's a Bugatti Veyron....1001 factory quad turbocharged horsepower of over-compensation.

  8. Motortrend "___ of the Year" is a joke. Especially for trucks. They just give it to whoever puts out their new model that year. Just look at the past 4 years, all new redesigns. 10 Ram, 09 F-150, 08 Tundra, 07 Silverado. Then you have the whole Ridgeline debacle and the atrocious ML320(the year before they started SUV of the year). That award doesnt mean antything. Seeing as the 2011 Super Duty is the only "new" thing this coming year, it will probably win.

Easy on the ML320 McLovin! I love that truck. I've only had mine for a couple months now, so I dont have any problems to report yet, but I will concede that it has gotten quite the rep for being an unreliable dog.

If you mean it's atrocious in reliability, cant argue that. But considering it's purpose, it's an awesome truck/suv.

  9. German cars and Germain maintenance cost is not all that it cuts out to be.

My humblest opinion the electrical problems doesn't help the case for German engineering.

    Driving Euro= overrated....

Electrical problems? Considering the obscene amount of electrical gadgets in the 740i I just got, it's amazing that everything still works.

Used to own an Audi. Never had any electrical gremlins with that car.

Had a 08 C-Class, no problems there either.

If you want an electrical nightmare, buy a Cadillac. Or a Nissan (used to have a 300zx and that was an absolute nightmare, and my sis' Pathfinder wasnt much better).

    NOT driving Euro = overrated

  10. Okay, so I been a busy bee this past week.

Sold the 525i on Tuesday, and today I picked up a 95 740iL.

Unfortunately, its an automatic. And it's in need of tires, brake pads and brake lines.

So anyway, has the 4.4 V8, 282 HP / 296 ft-lb. Problem is, aftermarket support is practically non-existent for the 7 Series.

Here's the really strange part (to me). You'd think that with a motor like that, and BMW's rep for making killer cars like the //M cars, you'd think that the 740iL is smoking fast, even with the slushbox rather than a proper 6 speed. It's not!! A friend of mine stomped me in his RX8. They're not slow cars by any means, but after a 55 mph rolling start to 100 mph, he walked me by at least 2 lengths. And to make it worse, he had his brother with him; the guy is at least 220 lbs of added weight.

So, now I have two Bimmers...one is a 6 cyl with moderate aftermarket support, but unless I go with forced induction won't ever make some serious power.

The other is the one I got today, with a beastly V8 that is just begging to be unleashed, but 4100lbs, a slushbox and practically no aftermarket go fast goodies conspire to keep this car in the "pretty quick" category instead of the "holy $#!t" category.

But that aside, it is one sick car! Ridiculous amount of gadgets that will probably take me 6 months to discover them all, interior is just amazing, and is going to look spectacular with a set of 18" and coilovers.

Think I'm going to gut the 535i, remove EVERYTHING including the rear seats, and continue with the home brew turbo kit as originally planned. Work on the suspension and slap on some slicks, and call it a day. If all goes well, should turn out to be a pretty fun trackworthy car.

Not sure what to do about the ML320 now that I have the 740iL...pretty useful for bad weather and going on trips, but not sure if it's worth keeping around when I can just trade it in for a cheap beater truck that does the same things, and probably does it better.

Do know that I love the 740 though. Other than the usual wheels/coilovers/navigation, probably not going to do much else. The 535 is going to keep me plenty busy anyway.

Anywho, thats my story for the day. Going to start posting pics soon, probably next weekend, of the 535i teardown and rebuild.

Get the feeling its going to be a looong week..

  11. The GNX, eh? My buddy used to own one. Thing was deceivingly quick. Then he sold it and bought a Mercedes 500e. Quite possibly the best car I've ever driven. For those who don't know what a 500e is-- MB and Porsche got together to make a sports oriented sedan. Porsche brakes/suspension, AMG engine, PERFECTLY laid out interior and it went like stink. MB also under-rated it's power and skidpad. They reported 0-60 in the low 5 second range, some owners/magazines were hitting 4.2-4.5s. AMAZING car.

Truth be told, I've considered trading in the e63 for a AWD vehicle. In a few years I'll be moving to Chicago for my specialized residency and I'll need a vehicle I can drive in snow.

Got a good vehicle for you then; I used to own a Audi 1.8T Quattro.

In stock form, it was pedestrian, but it gets serious fast with minimal bolt ons (a chip, downpipe, exhaust, clutch and a set of Nitto 555-R were all I put on that car, and I could hang with Z28s and Mustang GTs).

Audi's with the Quattro AWD are monsters in the snow (no surprise considering Audi's heritage), and have one of my favorite interiors of any car on the road.

I just wish I had the money for an RS4!! Jack up the boost, then rape some Vipers while toting the family. <3

  12. Surely you mean the Terminator- 2003-2004 models.

The '99 started the 'new look'. But the 03-04 Cobras with the under-rated 390hp supercharged engines are the best modern Cobra ever made.

    Those things are beasts!

My bad, I meant the Cobra R from '00. They were the n/a motors making 385 hp 385 ft-lb.

Although I remember reading some tuner magazine back then that they put down nearly that amount of power to the wheels, so Ford was actually under rating them from the factory.

They just were the total package...killer looks, power, 6 speed V8, and pulled over 1.0g on the skidpad. Just nasty!

  13. Both recent GT500's have SVT emblems all over them. My 08' had 12 to be exact.

Technically speaking, according to Ford- the Raptor, GT500 and SHO are SVT models (all in production currently).

Glad to hear they're still kicking.

Although I admit I've never been a huge Mustang fan, I adore the '99 SVT Cobra. A masterpiece, in my opinion, especially for it's time period. It is one of my "must have" cars before I die! Problem is finding someone willing to part with theirs.

  14. SVT wasn't always just for Mustangs, the lightning was an SVT, they made a Contour SVT and even a Focus SVT.

As for Ford Trucks, they' re decent but the drivetrain has always been behind anything that chevy produces . The only Ford DT component worth a damn is the 9" rear.

Ford Mod motors have been anemic since conception, they messed up by canning the 300 I6. Now that was a tough engine!

You speak in past tense when refering to SVT....I know SVT hasn't put anything out for Ford in a while, but do they still exist?

  15. About five years ago I bought a 93 MR2 for a project car. So much for the project, I haven't done a thing to it since I bought it and it sits in my garage most of the year. Its in great shape with 60,000 original. Every Winter I say I am going to sell it, then Summer comnes around and I change my mind!

    Those cars are no joke.

I'd just gut it, throw on some coilovers and slicks, and call it a day. Would be automatic beast status, especialy out on the twisties.

  16. Hey, easy on Cadis.

    I would love to have a new CTS-V! :)

I second that. New Caddies are all pimp. I just meant the Lexus' have always just been glorified Buicks (a better comparison).

When I read the owner reviews, I laugh, because they get all excited about everything I dont like about cars in general....."ooooh, its like floating on a cloud!" or "Is the motor on? I cant even hear it running!" or "I'm not sure.....should I get the 21 inch or 30 inch monitor for my trunk?"

I pay good money to exterminate these flaws, lol

I have a M-B ML320 (suv) that I use as my daily driver, and even though I could have gotten the same model year Navigator for a couple grand less and a 99 Escalade for about the same price, I just loathe that "riding on a cloud" feeling that much. The ML320 is much sportier, and actually handles like a car when you push it. (I realize that for most normal, well balanced people, "pushing it" and "SUV" are not supposed to be in the same sentence, but no one ever accused me of being normal either.)

  17. Yea, pretty sweet. Unless its a typo, that TQ seems unusually hight for a Honda. I'd like to see a Dyno sheet of it. I'm sure power under the curve is still pretty weak.

294 ft-lb sounds about right to me....the RSX's were a bigger 2.0L, and they respond pretty nicely to FI.

But I've driven a couple turbo Integras, and they take what seems like forever to spool. The one didn't hit boost until 3700 rpm, and it wasn't even that big a turbo (a T3/T4 of some sort). Off boost, was a dog...but once you get in it, seems like you cant shift fast enough to keep up with the motor.

I think you're right, it probably wont blow you away down low, but out on the highway it's a whole different ball game.

  18. It's funny how the top of the line Lexus parks itself. Then also the Bottom of the barrel ford parks itself to...

Never been a Lexus fan. They're basically Japanese Cadillacs. Except not nearly as good looking and without the badass motors...they're just so....boring...

I remember back in the day when only the most pimptastic cars had heated seats. A five speed auto? You must have bought a fancypants luxomobile. And so on.

I think the trickle down effect has great benefits. Not just for obvious reasons, but also because it is forcing automakers to do something crazy to get back on the cutting edge -- build a better car, rather than packaging a huge bundle of gadgets and whoopdie-doos. Now it's common place to see factory turbochargers, 7 speed autos, electronic suspensions, exotic brake systems, etc. Back to the old days, when a better car was the most mechanically advanced one.

  19. Im a ricer lmao

    2002 Acura RSX Type S

Garrett GT35R Turbo pushing 12psi until the the compression is lowered

RC 750cc Injectors....need to upgrade soon

Hondata K Pro (complete tuning that fits directly into the stock ECU *very cool*)

HKS SSQV Blow Off Valve (sounds sexyyyy)

Thermal R&D 3" turbo exhaust......and many more mods

    Numbers: 346whp

294tq......its a Honda for crying out loud, there is no tourque lol

All in all I enjoy my ride. I have under 70k mi on it and its an 02. 4 deployments have kept the mileage low lol!

Now, if you paid more for a front or roof mounted wing than you did on the turbo, then I'd call ya a ricer, lol

    That's actually pretty badass. 350whp + a close ratio 6 speed in your 2500lb car = win!

  20. He feels more comfortable in a Toyota hybrid that runs on Urine.

Hey now, dont hate too hard on the hybrids! Some of the concept cars are sick. Honda had one a few years ago that put out over 400hp and still got over 40mpg.

Once they figure out how to get this shiz mass produced, the tree huggers are really gonna come after us.

  21. So to you motorhead is a lot more vague term than I. That's all.

It's kinda like some people envision bikers as anyone who rides a motorcycle. But I guess I am bit old school in that a biker I still think of Sonny Barger, Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper.

Likewise, I would rather see anything Corvette, Camaro, Mustang, Charger, Challenger, Viper, etc., etc., etc. whooping up on anything made overseas!

    GO JOE DIRT!!!!

Yup, seems that I have a broader definition of what makes a motorhead; not sure why it would exclude any particular group, since we all do the same thing...

What car did Joe Dirt drive? Never watched that movie. Please tell me he either drove a late 70's Trans Am or an IROC-Z!!
