They made the playoffs the last 2 seasons and we didn't.  They don't respect us anymore that is why they appreciate us.  If we knock them out of the playoffs this year they won't appreciate us at all and will go back to hating us.  This has to be the stupidest thread I have ever read.

Did you guys appreciate the Patriots when they didn't report who was eligible in our last playoff game and humiliated us on the way to the Super Bowl?  Go to a Steelers game in Pittsburgh when we were good with a Ravens jersey on and see how much they appreciate you.  Man reddit can't be worse than this forum.

It's a good thing reddit isn't closing any time soon then. Feel free to sign up over there.

I mean, this all has to be Flacco's fault, right?  That massive contract he signed will no longer allow the team to afford to keep the boards up and running.  Reason #9569 we should trade him.

    ;)

That's a given. The homers will never admit it, but that's why we call them homers; they aren't realists like us. Duh.

  3. Call me crazy, but I actually am starting to miss Cam Cameron. This offense has been even worse since he left, save for 2014 when Kubiak was here. At least when Cameron abandoned the run game, he still had the good sense to utilize his QBs obvious gifts. Abandoning the run AND trying to turn Flacco in Captain Checkdown...well...it's no wonder why this offense struggles so much.

Seconded. I've endured a week long ban once or twice. There was a solid two or three years where I probably carried points more than I didn't have points. Usually for being a snarky jerk and trolling some of the more bizarre or reactionary posters. Yet, the mods let me off the hook an awful lot.

And how bout that ole thread. Some old faces there. Always missed the Franchise and Warden in recent years.

    Good times here.

I know! Franchise added me on Myspace years ago to keep in touch...but, well, it took a dump shortly thereafter once FB took over the world. He and Wardie were great people, I missed them as well.

He is consensus top 2-3 pass rusher in this class. What dropped him was off the field stuff.

Honestly, I think the effects of that were a little overblown. Like Mixon, who is far more concerning to me, still went in the top portion of the 2nd. But that isn't to say it had no effect, it clearly did play a role as well. I just think the lack of experience / one-dimensional player had a bigger role.

Well, he was one of our 200 draftable players but when you have a talent like tandon doss being selected in the following rounds it was an easy decision. Don't forget that we still have sergio kindle who will be ready for training camp. We got better today..

I wish you and Harbs would stop saying that after every interview LOL.

Guys, since the boards are almost done, was I the only one carrying points, by accidentally thinking something was not a cuss word, when on here it was?

How many screw up points did you all carry during your time posted in here? I got busted for calling a Flacco pick, and what was being referred to as a hiccup, as a Flaccup, must have been interpreted a different way, lol.

I had some fun in here, my posts for the most part called them how I saw them, gave praise where needed, and criticized out of love for the team, in the hopes that the higher ups would recognize a bad decision(s) did not go unnoticed.

I hope the Ravens brass will do more to bring folks into the flock in the future, as opposed to pushing them away, like this ridiculous board closing decision, or even no more McDaniel, and lack of player radio shows.

Do more for the kids, they will be your future fans, embrace the community, try not to be untouchable in your high tower going forward. We all have too much stress in our lives as it is, and this was a great way to bring everybody together in a common way, where your skin color, or background did not matter, just your love for the city of Baltimore, and its favorite Championship team celebrating the good times on its way to M & T, I love you guys. OSSB

The only reason I am not carrying points is that I haven't been active the past few months :)

Listen, there were times where I thought the mods were being way too knit-picky, even with the understanding that this is a family oriented community. But they have also let me slide many times, more than I deserved. They have been more than fair to me personally, and for that I appreciate it.

You know, the other night I went through my content just to reminisce; as narcissistic as this is going to come off as, I got a lot of laughs reading through some of my old threads and the responses to them. The Purple Reign thread was probably my favorite thread ever :D

So it's kind of depressing on a personal level to see this forum die. So much time spent on here, so many laughs shared with others, so many awesome and cool new people I've gotten to meet. but instead of being sad about what we're losing, I'm just thankful for what we had!

  8. I'm of the mindset that it is better to be great at one thing rather than being good at two things. And just look no further than AZ last season as proof of that; a top 5 defense and offense got them what, 7 wins?

So I like what they are doing here, especially with the anticipation of bringing in veteran help in the coming months to fill holes along the offensive line.

Top notch front office, as always.

Maybe, maybe not...if anyone can bring out his full potential, it's PIT.

In a vacuum, I have more confidence in him than Bowser; he has a much higher floor I believe, although Bowser does have a higher ceiling.

Why did Tim drop so far down in the draft? I noticed a few of you mentioned yall wanted him in the first. Why did teams pass on him?

Biggest issue, in my mind at least, is that he hasn't seen nearly as many snaps as many other players during his career. So therefore, less tape on him, and less ability to make a confident projection. He had something like 600 or so less snaps than Barnett just last season alone.

That, in addition to the idea that he may be a pass rush specialist rather than a three down player, dropped his draft value a bit. But make no mistake, there is great value in being a pass rush specialist. If we had a chance to draft the next Dumervil in the 1st round, certainly we would do so, despite Dumervil only bringing pass rushing ability to the table and little else.

    Hi, this is ozzie here.

I understand your concern but we took a player higher on our board, Jah Reid.

Ozzie, didn't you also trade up in the 3rd to get him? I mean, I can live with missing on Houston, but that's assuming we drafted another quality player instead. What exactly were you smoking when you thought Jah Reid was a better player? Please seek rehabilitation.

But, great job the past several drafts; I'm quite pleased.

  12. - Lack of a consistent pass rush. We got a lot of coverage sacks last year; and no surprise then that the entire defense went down the toilet after Jimmy got hurt.

    - Lack of a consistent run game. Primary, but not the only, reason for this was our OC.

    - Flacco still not being physically or mentally recovered, despite his words otherwise.

The first and third bullet points shouldn't be an issue this season. It remains to be seen what goes on with the run game. We will need a strong one this season, given the defense we've assembled and the question marks we still have at WR.
