  1. You must have missed the part of, you know, actually watching him play. If you did, Al, you wouldn't need to quote combine performances and stats toform an opinion of him.
  2. Okay, Al Davis
  3. Understatement of the year! But just an FYI, when you have that kind of loot, it's called "eccentric"
  4. LOL! Too bad for him, I dont think anyone here acknowledges him as a Raven. He doesn't deserve the honor. That title is earned by blood and sweat on the field.
  5. It is a question (that I really dont care enough to get an answer to) that has been in the back of my mind...reading some of these ridiculous judgmental comments makes me wonder if some of these people have ever overcome any real adversity in their lives. There is no question that up until a year ago, Rolando was a failure off and on the field. However, all indications since his first retirement indicate that his life has finally started going down the right path. Tells me he is starting to grow up as a person. Anyway, glad to hear about your child; every parent worries about making sure they raise their children the right way. The hard part is accepting the fact that no matter what you teach them, they ultimately make their own decisions. All we can do is stand by them; continue to be a parent to them, especially when they are screwing up
  6. I know, right. How pathetic. Football is more important than his kids, eductation or continuing to get his life together. ^^ LOL at my mispelling of "education"....fail... Also like how you got negged for stating what SHOULD be obvious to anyone over the age of 11. If the guy thinks other things are more important to him than football, I say more power to him. I wish I were able to retire at 24 and enjoy life.
  7. Why is nobody surprised? lol
  8. Sadly I think he has proven that beyond any doubt. What is even worse is that he has what it takes physically. Very few people in the world can say that. It's his mental and character issues that have derailed his career, most likely permanently
  9. Can't argue with that. The fact that I even had to say "if he isn't BSing us" says a lot about him; or at least what we think about him.
  10. Well, if he really had a migraine, and not just BS'ing us, it is understandable why he quit the drills. Either way, not exactly heartbroken if he never makes the team
  11. Not missing the point at all. Did he get arrested? Do something illegal but not get caught? What did he do that was so wrong, other than show up late for work and not have a good performance? How does that denigrate his character? (relatively speaking, of course. Cant say he has much character to begin with.) Why did the staff let him in the building at all if it were a big deal and affected others unduly?
  12. That's fine, as long as you think it's pathetic whenever you are late for anything remotely important. I think we should hold ourselves to the same standards, or better, than we hold others to.
  13. Just means he's not ready. It's okay. Doesn't reflect poorly on him, in my opinion. The refusing to workout may have been a smart move, depending on his intentions.
  14. Calling him pathetic for being late (in a previous post) is kicking him. I get the fact that this was a big opportunity for him. He blew it on multiple counts. But we're not talking about curing cancer or feeding the hungry; it's a football practice/tryout/workout/whatever-it-was. Kinda harsh to call someone out for being late...obviously it wasn't a huge deal to the staff, since they let him continue the workout (which he proceeded to blow)
  15. Right...he's the only person who has ever been late for anything in the NFL. Guy is trying to improve his life, and people rag on him for anything they can think of. It's easy to kick someone when they're down.
  16. He deserves as many chances as the FO deems fit. Being late is no indictment of anything. Not working out means what? That rather than prove he was wrong and wasn't physically ready, and have the door shut in his face right then and there, leave the door cracked, no matter how small that crack may be?
  17. Glad to see Rolando is the only person here who has ever been late for work
  18. I hope this isn't too off topic, but last summer I was 35 minutes late for a meeting with a prospective client. I was late because I left the GPS at home and apparently took a few wrong turns. She bought me a coffee and accepted the bid I submitted to her the same day. I guess the point is we know what is expected of us in a professional environment. And being professional doesn't mean throwing humanity out the window....like you say, life happens. People understand that. Just don't make it a habit
  19. I think he rushed the comeback due to time. Summer camps, etc will be starting soon; it would be tough to get back to football if he just showed up at our door one day late in August.....either that, or he was just wrong; maybe he thought he was physically ready but had a rude awakening. I can't justify the being late; but really, to me, it's whatever. Can't say I've never been late for a meeting or something like that that. And just to clarify, I was never big on bringing him in in the first place, even at vet minimum. In fact, I strongly disliked it. He's a 1st round bust, always will be, and has never given me reason to think he would ever be more than another Jameel McClain.
  20. I think what far too many people forget is that Rolando's appearance was completely and totally of his own accord. He is not under contract to anyone, and has NO obligation to even be in town, much less anything else. So he tried to comeback before he was really ready.....to me, that shows desire and ambition. Now unless you want to crucify him for being late, let's just say, "Good luck to you, Rolando" and hope that someday soon, he will be more prepared for his big audition and possibly help our team out at some point. And this is coming from the guy that was not happy at all that we brought him in last year.
  21. Come on now, be reasonable. It is not fair to ask people to hold themselves to the same standards they hold others to! How are they supposed to feel high and mighty then?
  22. What did he bid, Bob? ...Looks to crowd... Two dollars!
  23. I know what you're saying, but I bolded that part because it is pretty much my point....look at guys like Flacco, Kaepernick, Wilson and Ben. They don't put up big numbers, but no sensible person would base their play on their stats; if people did that, they would say asinine things like guys like Foles, Stafford and Dalton are better than the first group. ( Oh wait....lol )
  24. I actually think the run game will go back to normal this year; getting KO back, getting rid of Oher and going from Gino to Zuttah are significant. And of course, Kubiak should help too. However, I do think that Flacco has a great chance of throwing a crap load of TDs; I can see a 4400 yard / 30 - 35 TD season -- if all goes well.
