  1. I agree, I think an entire draft, a la Ricky Williams trade, is just...well, stupid. On the other hand, look at it like this...this was at a time when Ray and Ed were in their primes and our defense was the most feared in the league. With just a competent QB like McNair, we already had a 13 win season with him at the helm before the injury plagued 07 season and were arguably the best team in the NFL. Had Ryan turned out to be as great as we thought he was...12 win seasons would be mildly disappointing.
  2. You know what though, gotta give it to Matty for taking the heat post-game and saying it was on him. Joe would have probably choke slammed the dude heh
  3. People like Ray Lewis can be great at whatever they set their minds to.
  4. I bet Pete Carroll was happy to see those play calls haha...take some of the attention away from him for most idiotic OC blunders in SB history. I mean seriously, you have Freeman and Coleman, you need to piss away some clock and you are already in FG range that would seal the win...hey, lets throw the ball!
  5. Well, you have to keep in mind that back in early 2008, Ryan had already been enshrined in the HOF. Kind of the way Luck is already in the HOF. To be honest, yes, we can say that would have been idiotic of us, but on the other hand, I thought Ryan was going to be a bust (and Flacco the best QB in the class -- yes, I thought these things BEFORE the draft). Point is, it's all opinion. If you feel that strongly about a guy, especially one who was as "pro ready" as Ryan was and we were in win now mode, you do what it takes to get him...within reason.
  6. That's being polite about it. I have some very colorful opinions on it that I'd be best to keep to myself.
  7. Exactly. I want us to be the reason he is forced into retirement.
  8. Nope. A Ravens fourth quarter means that one side of the ball collapses while the other plays great. Rarely do they both collapse like ATL did.
  9. Ah, don't be so hard on him. Not everyone can be Flacco at crunch time.
  10. Look, the fact that the OP just wanted to show some appreciation for one of our players, only to have it derailed by the usual trolls with the same lame "arguments" says a lot about those people, and nothing about Joe. Yawn...
  11. Sorry bud, this is why I tend to disappear during the offseason haha...
  12. Imagine that! 9th ranked Oline and all the "apologists" did was blame the Oline for Flacco's ineptitude. Many a QB could take a 9th ranked Oline deep into the playoffs I just get tired of hearing"Joe needs this, Joe needs that" I guess we need 10 starting first team pro bowl players on offense around Flacco to make the playoff. PFF, you say? You mean the same PFF who ranks people like this? http://boards.baltimoreravens.com/topic/70161-pff/
  13. What a shame. He had a bright future. Best of luck in life and thanks for the memories
  14. I looooooooveee Flacco's new "Party Pooper" commercial
  15. "That's on me"? What, you think my or your opinion actually means anything? Do you actually think we'll cut Flacco if enough people pretend Tyrod Taylor or Jay Cutler is better or something?
  16. The funny thing is Flacco has more Super Bowl MVPs than Tyrod...
  17. Wow, I can only imagine what would be said here if Flacco threw a pick like the one Russell Wilson just did.
  18. So...you'd ignore what every reporter and player says about him, based on what exactly? There are countless examples through the media, including our own site and Twitter, of all the extra time Flacco puts in, that it blows my mind that people even bring this topic up.
  19. I don't agree, but even if we had to choose between the two, Alshon is clearly the choice.
  20. Alshon would be tremendous. Exactly the kind of guy we need -- a big guy who is also a deep threat, and goes up and outplays DBs for the ball. He won't be as cheap as some think, probably in the $6-$7M year range, but he's not a guy we can let pass us by if we can get him without overpaying.
  21. So many holes on this team -- assuming we even retain all of our key players. OG, C, CB, OLB are all absolutely critical needs. We must address every single one of those positions between FA and the draft. And with SSS likely retiring, BP has to step up in a big way, or we are in big trouble at WR, which was already performing well below my expectations this year. Ozzie and company has their work cut out for them this year.
  22. Figured he would make it this year. The one year he doesn't deserve to get in, people vote him in just to be contrarian. sigh...
  23. This year, Mosely is top 1 at ILB
  24. Flacco's probably good for 250 - 280 yards and a couple TDs. Alex Smith against the Donkeys? Yeah, I'd go with Flacco.
  25. Yeah, you'd think that by now people would give up on predicting the outcome of Ravens / Steelers games LOL. All we know for certain is that we will all be very entertained, and one of the fan bases will be very happy afterwards, and the other likely moving on to 2017 draft mode. Merry Xmas either way!
