This defense is already top 3. If Dumervil were healthy and still as productive as he has been since coming here, this is probably the best D in the league.

How do you put any blame at all on Flacco there? In the game thread, I said the exact same thing, but of course it was "just an excuse". It was one on one coverage down the sideline, and it's SSS. Flacco is SUPPOSED to take that matchup. Unfortunately, SSS got boxed out of the play and gave up on it, the DB ran SSS route for him and made an easy INT. The second INT was all Flacco. The first to SSS, no way.

I would agree with you if Flacco didn't float it in there. He needed to throw a missile to make that play work, and we all know he's capable of it. He just didnt do it.

sigh... the first three possessions of the game, Flacco was getting 4-6 seconds in pass pro, the running game was averaging over 5 YPC, at least one WR was getting open nearly every single down. All this resulted in a huge first quarter for Flacco: 9-13 for 186 yards and 3 TDs. As the first quarter ended, I woke up from my damn nap.
