No lol. As much as I like Tavon, you are definitely sleeping on Jimmy Smith. He is a top 5 corner if not higher in the NFL and one of the most underrated corners in the league. Led mostly every category last season until hurt. A team that was #1 the first 12 weeks went down to #9 or whatever it was in just the final 4 weeks with bottom 10 performances in those four weeks.

Tavon is good but Jimmy Smith healthy is elite. People sleep on him because his lack of durability. But he really is a star in this league.

Dumb ole Ravens should have kept Kerringgan and made him playout his contract. He would have to play at his best for toget a good contract from whatever team he goes to. Why did the Ravens do that, I will never understand. OMG

All for getting new cornerbacks, but we have to trade off and older CBwho is always hurt and can not keep up with the competition. And also a very high paid CB. He is terrible!

Question is, do we realistically have the cap space for those 3 guys and does the draft board set up in a way that makes this possible. The Hightower signing is probably a stretch. 

 

 

1-Restructure/extend Dummervil, Pitta, Wallace and Webb to a lower cap contract.

2-Let go Shareece, Lewis, Zuttah, Arlington, Power, Watson

3- Sign Juice, Wagner, Guy let Brandon walks.

4- Sign B Marshall, Center Mangold and a cut veteran CB ( those won t count against compensatory picks)

5- Drafts: 1st rd : Barnett/Cook/Jamal/ Hooker if not available trade back for Tim Williams/ best available CB/ pass rusher. 2nd rd: best available CB/Safety

3rd rd: again best available DB, and Center for pick 99th. Then the rest of the picks can be used for depth.

After that we will watch the ravens play next february at US Bank Stadium, Minneapolis.

I hear what you're saying and in any other draft I would agree 100%. But this is the craziest corner class I've ever seen. I think DJ said he had 10 corners in his top 50 players and he wanted to add more. There are elite ones too. There are 4-6 that I would be happy if we picked them at 16. The top 2 rounds are loaded overall too. A pro bowl corner will be available at 16 imo.
However, after they not only relied on Wright, but paid him and stuck with him as long as they did, I wouldn't be surprised if they took another similar approach. Like signing Davon House who's about to be cut.
I know people that like to pick at post will do so will this statement, but jeez I think it'd be nice to have Norman. I know he's expensive and annoying, but he's BA on the field. And would Thrive on our D. We just need to get a shut down corner this off season somehow. If we do that and Jimmy stays healthy, our secondary will go from a weakness to a huge strength.

No more than J Smith, always hurt and plays with no desire other than being first in line for his paycheck. You talk about PITA NOT HAVING Speed, then wath the highlights of Smith! Too far back and can not catch up! Release him and free up some salary cap big time. Ozz ie must have a thing with Smith, I believe!

We need plays that other teams have and works well. Not always long passes. 5yds and slant. Plays that keeps us progressing forward. Where was the "Hail Mary Pass" when we needed it in the last game? That was dumb for what the Ravens did actually do!

Periman could never fill Steve Smith Sr shoes. I think he was a waste of money as was and is Jimmy Smith. Lets get rid of both of them!

Big waste of money! Spend it on getting new conerbacks, especially Jimi Smith side. He has to be replaced permanently.
