It's not as complicated as everyone make it out to be. The short pass game can in fact work, not to mention the yards after catch. If we currently do not have the personnel to stretch the field, I truly think that's our best bet.
Look at that God forsaken Patriots team, not a lot of big names at the WR position, but they dominate opponents with the short passing game which extends drives, keep the ball out of the opposition's hand, and gain loads of first downs from gaining 6-7 yards per completion. I'm far from saying not to use Joe's strengths (deep ball, strong arm), or make him Brady 2.0, but I am saying that we should give it a shot. We have the personnel, we just need to implement this a bit more often. Love Flacco to death, but let's get back to the fundamentals which will produce better situations, realistically.
