1 minute ago, purpletide said:Heard he's a great receiver, just lacks power in the run game. Don't know that much about him other than that besides what you said.
Yes he is. He lined up as receiver at times, has as many receiving as rushing yards.

Ah, saw that yesterday and forgot about him as well. Good hands but those feet, it's like trying to catch an angry fly. He broke plenty of ankles.
Uh, forgot all about Taliaferro
No RBs at all. We are obviously content on riding out Dixon's suspension with West, Buck Allen and Woodhead

If one of those guys were there we probably would have been more tempted to go with one but it sounds like we really like Humphrey(I mean we passed on Allen and Howard for him) so we may have passed on them anyways.
Imagine this place if Davis was there and we still took Humphrey.

They were really similar, long, uber athletic, looks the part of multiple positions, and raw. Byron jones didn't have clear first round tape, they took him based on future projections. We did the same with a similar player
Two words - broad jump.

The one thing that was certain and will always remain is that through all of the ups and downs and the good and bad and the negativity as well as the positivity that went on in here; ya'll were and still are my family (Ravens wise). "YOU A'LL ARE MY RAVENS BROTHERS AND SISTERS" and I'm truly going to miss not being able to come in here and chop it up with you guys/gals about our team.

But that isn't to say it had no effect, it clearly did play a role as well. I just think the lack of experience / one-dimensional player had a bigger role.
It's a little bit of an urban myth that he is one-dimensional player. Due to ridiculous depth on that Alabama front, he didn't need to play 3 downs a lot but at times he did - this shows through TFL numbers if you didn't watch too many games.
In roughly half the number of snaps played, he has just 1.5 sacks less than Garrett but the most extraordinary thing about Williams is his effectiveness. For his career, he managed to get to QB on 25% of passing plays and that number in 2015 was 28% +. This is unheard of, he was in a QB's face once in less than 4 snaps. College average is about 10%.
Even if he was one dimensional player, with those numbers I honestly couldn't care less.
Watched some videos of Wormley made in a lead up to combine / draft. This dude looks, plays, works and talks like a man on the mission. He really impressed me, has a potential to be what Jernigan was supposed to turn into for us.
10 minutes ago, flynismo said:Biggest issue, in my mind at least, is that he hasn't seen nearly as many snaps as many other players during his career. So therefore, less tape on him, and less ability to make a confident projection. He had something like 600 or so less snaps than Barnett just last season alone.
That, in addition to the idea that he may be a pass rush specialist rather than a three down player, dropped his draft value a bit. But make no mistake, there is great value in being a pass rush specialist. If we had a chance to draft the next Dumervil in the 1st round, certainly we would do so, despite Dumervil only bringing pass rushing ability to the table and little else.
He is consensus top 2-3 pass rusher in this class. What dropped him was off the field stuff.
7 minutes ago, Davesta said:Timmy looks so skinny in film and pictures. I hope he's able to put on more muscle mass for NFL tackles.
He definitely will, hopefully not too much. Speed and moves are his calling card. He dropped some weight for the combine but his playing one was 252/253 lbs. Long dude, looks skinnier than he actually is.

He stated he would like to find away to a growing community, and a combination may certainly be mutualistic. (just read his post). Finding ways to converge ideas and information would be useful.
Definitely. Much better to work together than duplicate the effort.
17 minutes ago, purplepittabread88 said:Hey guys, I know coming from someone with nearly no posts this seems strange, but I have been a daily reader of these forums dating back to 2011 and I've had a few different accounts here and there. I am currently a studying graphic designer, and me and my friend are currently producing a new forums page and I would appreciate it if you guys could check it out at launch, I know you will love it. I am working hard to duplicate it as close to these forums as possible, but adding a small point of my personal touch. I would hate to see this community fall apart, ranging from Biolizzard, to sami, and even wizards doomsday posts, I've learned to love this community just as much as my ravens. I don't want to deal with clueless Facebook fans, and you guys sure know your stuff. The launch date of the new forum will be May 5th. Apologies for the time, but as a student I'm extremely busy with finals this week. If you have any feedback or suggestions please just email me: forums@purpleflock.com ; this will be a well run and developed community. I only share this now to spread the word before the boards close. This community doesn't have to die. It will take some time to get to full potential, but I can ensure you a safe and efficient board with lots of room to grow. Later down the line (after launch and growth), I would love to write some articles myself, along with having those wiling and capable submit their own articles for use! Thanks for the read and check us at https://purpleflock.com !!
You might want to get in touch with @BOLDnPurPnBlacK - there's been an effort going on since the announcement to keep the board going elsewhere, quite a few people have signed up on a transitional board already.
Once a Raven, always a Raven. Nice.

I hate to say it, but these guys are going to be a nightmare to deal with this year and many years to come. They are absolutely all in on defense. Their defense is incredibly talented and deep across the board to be able to stymie any type of offense for years to come. They have done nothing on the offensive side of the ball. Maybe their plan is to have a ball control offense this year and start adding offensive weapons next year. Either way, they will give us problems. They do every year even with less talented teams.

The Ravens are a great franchise.
If I didn't hate them, I'd like them.
I feel the same about them.
Some strong language but not as bad as in their game threads:
