Perhaps the Ravens learned that we as a fan base are so knowledgeable that other teams use our scouting reports when researching draft prospects and when scouting and game planning against us. By closing the forum, this "makes us a better team" like when open practices at McDaniels stopped happening

Either that or Horitz, DeCosta and maybe even Ozzie raised a stink with SB, worried about their jobs.

I've sent a PM to @Admin 3 who started this thread to make one final plea to see if we can keep it open through the Ravens season. It may be a little late but I gotta try something

Are you two reading this thread? There are multiple instances of the new (as of now) location posted [ http://baltimoreravens.boardhost.com/ ]

If that changes, I'm guessing the updates would be posted there.

It's just showing a "coming soon" page for me (for all the good that does) but it does look very professional. I don't post a lot these days but I'll probably register there and see what happens. The main problem new sites often have is the influx of new members (especially when the existing members start to leave when life happens), but that's not an impossible problem or anything.

There was a screenshot of the interface posted earlier. Looks good, obviously modern software.

just waiting on it to be activated lol. its just Flex5 now. i feel strange that so many people here refer to me as joey, and my name is in no way joey lol.

i know its a flacco reference... but it almost feels like im catfishing.

I've never heard of that Mason reference. The only thing that came to mind were nike X-trainers

Maybe we should all reveal one little tidbit about ourselves.  For example: you all know I'm a huge Ravens fan (evidence: 10 years of trying to keep these forums civil).  What you may not know is that I'm an even bigger Orioles fan, even through the 14 straight losing seasons.

In the early eighties, I served in the Navy, on the submarine. Was manning torpedoes and got to steer a boat, too.

    Sorry, no photos (top secret).

If you don't want to discuss the picks when they are made I suggest google chat.  Everyone is supposed to wait 15 minutes because a few of you think you own the boards?  Maybe this is why the Ravens are shutting the forum down. You guys think this is your personal board.  Giving people negative votes when the main cliche who disagree with anything your group disagrees with.

i mean you make the dumbest post I ever read about how great it is Steelers fans appreciate us.  And I make a disagreement with it and the negative votes come out.  You guys are like three year olds.  No adult cares about down votes.  And the forum is closing in 4 days.  At least I won't have to ever read your post again. .

    Yeah, right.

What are you talking about.  I was following the draft.  I choose not to watch commercials .  I had the draft tracker up and was following the picks.  I mean does there need for me to watch a ton of commercials , watch Goddell booed every 5 minutes and have the picks delayed by 15 minutes for me to care about the draft.

Seriously, just how dense are you?

Do what you want and watch what you want. 500 other people tell you don't ruin the thing they have going on every bloody year during NFL draft because they like it that way. We are not interested in getting announcements early from anybody because we like to watch the coverage together and talk about it while it's happening on OUR timeline. Who the hell are you to announce anything even after repeatedly being told not to?

Un-freaking (not exactly the first word that comes to mind) believable.

Tim could very easily be the top Edge defender in this class. His potential is extremely high and impressive and he's very explosive. I'm still a huge fan of Ryan Anderson, his teammate, just because I felt like Tim went straight up the field at times and that just really drives me nuts as a pass rusher but the explosiveness is there and so is the willingness to improve. I think Williams has a very nice array of moves to use and that's great. The question here is if we can make him a complete player.

Bowser seems fine but I wish we used that pick on Anderson, especially now that we have Williams as well. I really believe Steelers and Ravens dropped the ball there, us with Bowser and them with Watt. Skins front with Allen and Anderson will be terrible thing to play against.

When i said best pass rusher i meant it by his prototypical length and his array of moves. I love barnett but he doesnt have the length and explosion tim has. He also only really uses his dip and rip to get by tackles. Tim can beat you with like 5 moves lol

The thing about Williams is that he thinks through the play, adjusts according to what he's seen and does all that at great speed. I have no doubt he'll have some solid production in his rookie year but once he gets used to NFL football, linemen better be on top of their game, otherwise no golf carts and rolexes for them.

What about Michael Floyd? He's currently on house arrest but should be release soon. He is basically the receiver I think Mike Williams will become.

There's no way we pick him up, I think. Not after a jail time for the offence that shows total lack of sense of responsibility.

    @frozen joe flacco fan

I think if we're just grading the draft, it deserves a B. If we're grading the whole offseason, then a different grade might apply.

You can't realistically fill all your holes in one draft. They made each pick count until the Clark pick, and that was in the 6th round. We needed multiple pass-rushers, multiple O-Linemen, and CB depth (or possibly a better starter than Carr, who is old and declining). Replace any of the picks that were made with someone else and you have a hole or decreased depth somewhere else.

Also, Siragusa was introduced during the post-draft presser as a center/guard, for whatever that's worth. Perhaps he can become that Center you're looking for. In the meantime, he can play LG, which is just as big of a hole.

Anyway, FA isn't over yet. They'll probably add a veteran WR and OL in free-agency before TC starts, maybe even Boldin or Mangold. They also could trade for someone or pick up a cap casualty before the season begins.

If you hit on high pick players you might be lucky to fill a couple but the way to do it is fill a hole in FA, build long term through draft. Hopefully we can do that to some extent on offense now.

Re Siragusa, I'm not sure why they keep emphasis on "C", Siragusa himself said that he never played a snap at center.

Von Miller is 6'3" and 250 now. So, my feeling is just as a matter of course under Saunders, he'll put in 5-6 pounds over the course of the year and get stronger perhaps. Based on the 'science' video I say he is supposed to have legs the size of Arik Armstead of SF who is a 6'7" giant! So that's where he gets his explosion I suppose.

Mentioned this already but his weight is not an issue at all. He played last season at 252/253 lbs.

That's 115kg of quick twich muscle
