I haven't been on the computer today, so I haven't checked today's news, but the article indicated that the new policy was written May 1st and would go into effect at that time.  At the time of the article Keenan couldn't be reached for comment as to how it would effect his military status. If you find out anything could you please post a link, thanks.

"According to a DOD spokesman the policy change requiring two years of active duty does not apply retroactively to Ravens WR Keenan Reynolds.”

Yeah - it is tough to just boot somebody ... they really have to be cited for breaking the rules. Being extraordinarily obnoxious alone isn't grounds for dismissal. The thing is so many people who the majority of posters find obnoxious are also hyper critical of the team to a ridiculous fault. Start removing them and the cries start to pour in about being a homer site, not allowing for contrarian opinions, etc.

I guess a rule could have been specifically created that your posts need to be in readable English. That would have done the trick.

I kind of like the reddit concept ... they remove posts if enough people neg it, don't they. If you make it a large enough count,. It allows the posters themselves to judge what needs to be removed and doesn't need to be justified by some specific rules violation.

I appreciate what you're saying and I have no issue with any of the other frequently mentioned people who hate Flacco, Harbaugh, whatever. But I really don't understand how RayRayRaven was allowed to post so much garbage, regardless of whether he agrees or disagrees with anybody on the board. That crap is incomprehensible and I'd say obvious troll. There was no 'value' in letting his (different) opinion heard even if he was a genuine poster because there's no opinion there, there are no legible words and sentences in his posts.

Why use 145 characters when the point was made in less?

I don't use Twitter because I frankly don't care.  I also find your post indicative of why this site is closing as opposed to growing.

Your remark was completely out of place and indicated that you couldn't be bothered to read what Tank said, yet found it appropriate to imply something that he didn't.

He played soccer from 3-13 years old. Played Rugby at 13 for 1 year. Moved to the US at 14 and started playing football.

Hes now played football for 6 years compared to 1 of rugby. Neither is much experience. My point was simply that playing 1 year of rugby probably wasnt enough for him to learn and retain anything meaningful that would carry over to his football playing. Hes now got far more experience playing football, which itself isnt much.

Yep, I got that and I agree - just wanted to put emphasis on your point :)

too long for the average member to want to read.  That said.  If you're not sure of the reasoning or believe what the have said is the reasoning, as it doesn't fit your ideas, then you really cannot discount their reasoning.

Exactly the point @-Truth- is making. The reason is the quest for numbers in a "flavour of the day" form, without any regard to substance.

It is a mistaken notion to automatically presume that the judgment behind the decision is sound simply because the decision was made. It essentially implies that there are no miscalculated decisions, which is obviously far from the truth. The most likely explanation behind the shutdown is that it’s a cost-cutting measure that can now be written off under the guise of an expected natural progression of migrating conversations to the more current and popular social media platforms, i.e. Facebook and Twitter, an unspoken declaration of forums being an outdated means of discussions. If this is the expectation, then we have been woefully misread as a demographic. As a long-standing member on this forum, I can personally attest to the fact that I have zero interest in migrating my sports conversations to the wholly unmoderated platforms that are the physical manifestation of thousands of people standing in a single room and talking at the same time. I certainly can’t speak for everyone, but I would assume that this would be less than ideal for a sizable portion of other seasoned members.

I’m on multiple social media sites, have been and will be. From personal experience, I can tell you that the vast majority of the football discussions that occur in the comments are a barren wasteland of misinformation, uninformed opinions, and arguments which turn into poo-flinging contest and personal insults that immediately stream away from the main topics of discussion. This is mostly because a great deal of sports fans are relatively casual observers, thus the bar set for general insight is significantly lower. Couple that with the lack of repercussions for trolling or steering off-course, and in reality, the aforementioned result no longer comes as a surprise. And ironically enough, although we do debate on other platforms under our real names and profiles, the fact that we are unlikely to see the same faces in other discussions considering the infinitely-deeper pool of participants makes the ordeal less personal in comparison. The entire reason of most members joining forums is because they have a vested interest in the details of the sport that is generally greater than that of a casual observer. It has a sense of community where there are long-term residents, so you can choose whom you gravitate towards and whom you gravitate away from. And there are rules for everyone to abide by that ensure that the overall sense of integrity is protected, that this remains a place for intelligent discussions. That doesn’t mean that you won’t see head-scratching concepts or ill-informed ideas tossed around. But it’s still a far more ideal experience than that of the other platforms. These are the points being missed in the migration. Instead, it's treated that if we like X, we must like Y. What’s being lost on whomever is pulling the plug is that most members will either cease to hold their discussions on the internet, migrate to another forum, or go through a progression from the first to the second. It is of no surprise that other forums were immediately explored once the news broke. And I personally hope to see the familiar faces there.

    I love you, man!

He played rugby for like a year.... so idk how useful it is. Hes now a much more polished footballer player than he ever was a rugby player. idk that he played long enough for anything to "carry over."

Not very, I'm afraid. He only played it as a kid, switched to football after moving to US at the age 14.

I think we all found a new place, it looks good. It's time we start rounding up the troops so we can move forward when the time comes. Bold did say it was temporary, somehow we need to get a hold of him bc he has not publicly said anything lol

There are reports they might actually cut him.

Id at the very least wait to see how hes doing medically. Thats not a contract you want to take on AND give up a pick for if hes not going to be 100%.

Though definitely a player to keep an eye on. Wishful thinking, but id love him here.

If he recovered, I don't think he's going anywhere after Devin Smith's injury. They drafted a couple but both speedsters / slot guys.

The Best Forum Mock on the net.  Oh yeah, there are others, but none are run as well.  first most forum mocks only have the draft and some trades, but I've never seen one that includes free agency and salary cap.   It will continue on whatever board we end up using.

BTW, when is sign up for Draft a Franchise!

@-Truth- said he'll start it soon after we're over on boardhost

Tim Williams spin move against Michigan State on the RT. Ahhhhh, a thing of beauty.

Spins and closes the tackle out with his arm so powerfully he puts him right down on his face. Probably my favorite individual pass rush rep of any prospect in this draft. That play was just awesome.

That was great but my favourite play is here at 13:22

One of Joe Flacco's best seasons  was in a west coast offense and the other one was under the tutelage of a   quarterback coach with a west coast offense  background by name of Jim Zorn. Even during Joe Flacco excellent performance in 2012 playoff and super bowl  one of the reasons why the offense played so well was not only because it seem like Jim Caldwell  gave Joe Flacco more freedom to what he please but receivers were running more shorter routes and etc that may be considered west coast offense related.  I think alot of people think since Joe Flacco has a  big arm it just automatically mean he's more of a better fit for Corydell offense but I don't think that's the case at all.  Of course  he's not a  dink and dunk type of guy but I don't think at all he can't be successful in a west coast offense especially in Mary M type of west coast offense.

With what now looks like great defense in the making, all I want from our offense is to return to proper run game. Makes it easier on everybody. We'll just have to see whether the line holds but backfield looks decent and run game coach is in place. If that happens, Flacco would be able to mix it up a little and win us some games. Even Pitta should be able to make more than half a step in YAC.
