I am trying to get a 12 team league off the ground on nfl.com. The idea is to have six players from the USA and six players from the UK in the league. See who really knows their football! So far I have three of my US players on board and two UK players. So I am still on the lookout for seven new faces. The league is split up into three divisions of 4 teams and each division will have two US teams and two UK teams in it. The top four teams will then move on to the play-offs in weeks 15 & 16. The weekly lineups look like this............... QB RB RB WR WR WR TE K DEF Scoring is standard except for kickers and Defense. All FGs are worth 3pts and sacks are worth 2pts instead of the usual 1pt(I love Defense see ). The live draft will be taking place this Saturday at 6pm UK time/1pm Eastern/10am Pacific.(Assuming all 12 slots are filled by then) So are there any fellow Ravens out there who are up for the challenge of representing the NFL fans of their shores and showing the folks on the other side of the Atlantic who really knows their stuff? I've heard various people say that if we trade away one of our TEs then that man should be Crockett Gillmore. To me that is madness. Why in the world would you trade away a guy in his mid 20s who has flashed potential in order to hold on to a 35yo and a 31yo with a knackered hip? That is just dumb. Real dumb. Ben Watson and Dennis Pitta have no future in the game, Crockett Gillmore does. Why create problems for yourself further down the line(probably as soon as next season) when you don't have to? That's the sort of decision the Browns would make. If anyone is leaving the TE room it should be Watson or Pitta. Or both. Those guys are the past. Gillmore and Williams should be our future.

That was a really interesting article. Thanks for sharing. I am still to this day fascinated by the firing of Cam Cameron. How it came about, who really pulled the trigger etc. That article would seem to hint that some of the players were fed up with how the offense was performing - or rather not performing - and so they would seem to be the drivers behind Cameron's removal. Without the input of the players would Harbs have taken that decision himself? It seems unlikely to me given that he seems like a pretty loyal kind of guy and he had a solid friendship with Cameron. So that leads me to ask a further question about John Harbaugh. If he only fired Cam Cameron because he was losing the players, does it point to an inadequacy in his coaching makeup that he couldn't see for himself that the change had to be made? Or.................does it actually make Harbaugh an even better coach because he allowed his players to have their say, considered what had been said, and then proceeded to take the necessary action even though it was not a decision that was easy for him to make. It is for me the most fascinating subplot of our Superbowl winning season.

I've gotta be honest, I don't like this Ravens team. We somehow seem to have ended up being a kind of team(on paper at least) that I never thought we would become under John Harbaugh. Harbs has always talked about old fashioned football values and I really like that about him. I also feel that is the winning formula for the Ravens. But we are moving away from that and appear to be becoming another generic modern NFL team who favours the pass and has a porous Defense. On offense - I hate, hate, hate our co-ordinator. Not him personally but his play calling. I don't want an offensive co-ordinator who thinks pass first - run second. The fact that we led the league in pass attempts last season thoroughly depressed me and was not an insignificant reason as to why our season was a failure. RUN THE DAMN BALL. On defense - *Sigh*. Our Defense is just plain bad. We have no depth on the defensive line, our pass rush is old and our secondary has the potential to be a hot mess again. It's all such a far cry from the heady days of Ngata, Lewis and Reed, when we had prime talent and leaders at all three levels of the Defense. Nobody fears our Defense anymore and neither they should. This desperately needs fixed. If we spent every pick in next year's draft on the Defense I would not complain at all. Having a gritty, hard nosed, mean, stingy Defense was our thing. Now it's not. I miss that about us. I can see this being somewhere around a 7-9 season for us. We are a well coached team and we still have a few good pieces on our roster. The combination of those two things should see us scramble to somewhere around .500. I don't think this is a play-off team though and it is 100% not a Superbowl calibre team. Sorry for the negativity before we've even reached Week 1 but that's just where I see this team as being at. We have much work to do.

I am excited about the arrival of Gary Kubiak, I think he can have a really positive effect on our offense. The great thing for me about this hire is that we are pretty much committing ourselves to running the football next year and that is something I really wanted us to do. Kubiak's offense in Houston was built upon the running game and frequently using play action to open up the passing game, that is a formula that I think can work really well for us. I wasn't that excited by the prospect of having Kyle Shanahan or Jim Hostler as offensive co-ordinator so to pull Gary Kubiak out the bag at the last minute has really brightened my day. I feel more optimistic about next season already. Nice job, John Harbaugh.

I am sad to see Q go. He has been, and still is, a fine WR and I get the sense that he really did enjoy being a Raven. His play in the post season this year was fantastic and I will always retain the memory of him scoring that TD in Foxboro then laughing at the Patriots DB who was lying beaten on the ground. I understand why this trade happened but to only get a 6th round pick for a guy with that much talent doesn't feel like a fair trade. If we'd have got a 4th round pick for him I could just about have made my peace with it. Thank you for all your efforts Q. You will be missed.

I am a Ravens fan from Scotland. I have never been Stateside but I really hope I will be able to make it over to M&T for a game one day.
