Baltimore are gonna win the div at this rate, I just worry about their starting rotation and a few relievers come post season time.
No joke there. It seems like every rotation in the AL east is underperforming. The 2nd half is going to be very interesting.
Also, people keep saying that this is the worst division, but it's really not. There isn't one dominant team, but aside from Boston..every team is right there with the rest of the AL pretty much.
I think kansas will make the ws again, though not to outstanding AL competition. I hope baltimore and oakland can rebound form bad starts and use their current momentum to win the divs.
Does the AL east know what pitching is? Every team besides some of tampas pitchers are dreadful. The AL in general have pretty mediocre pitching this season. And torontos bullpen mixed with oaklands might be the worst thing ever.
Jimenez yuck
Not me. Philly fans are up there with the worst. Has to suck playing for them though.
From back to back ws appearances to being the laughing stock of the league shortly after, I quite enjoy phillys brief stay at the top going so bad shortly after.
LOL philly
You guys can still do well, the division is pretty weak so any decent run can get you to the top of it. Need to fix those road woes though.
My god the east is bad this season, scary to think boston and toronto can win it.
Still love Cruz. You could tell he wanted to stay here.
He's leading the homerun tally again this year with 16, what a monster I wish we had him last year.
Or, you know, just perhaps, they actually cheated and he felt a very very public lawsuit they would lose would be more detrimental in the end.
In a court of law, this wouldn't even be a hard case for a defense team to win. In order to convict someone of crimes you need hard evidence, all you have is maybes and more probable than nots and we aren't really sures and a lot of on the line things.
A prosecutor would have more than a tough time trying to do his job in a case like this. Secondly let's not pretend robert kraft isn't the type of billionaire to go to the kentucky derby in a limo while drinking a wine glass with his pink raised. He honestly chooses the option more beneficial for him (his buddy goddell being in the good books with him) instead of the people who brought him success.
Either way i've had enough of this long and boring saga so that's all i'll say on the matter.
Fun game to watch runs a plenty, though miggy should have just walked cruz on purpose in the 3rd.
What a spineless jellyfish of a man robert kraft is, joke of an owner. Go play in the sandbox with your only friend jerry jones you money spinning old geezer.
They break my heart year in and year out. Maybe they can finally win a game 7 but the odds are not good.
Usually if you have a 3-1 lead and dont close it out before game 7 things get bad, my bruins nearly blew that same kind of lead against toronto in 2013.
Caps are the sharks/blues of the east
Was that unintended or did I just kill the joke?
i'd like to know that myself lol
Nope, that's the guy. It's not like they're in short supply in the league, but he's the one who knocked his fiancee out cold in the elevator before our PR unit threw gas on the fire.
Good times.
Aaron hernandez, ray rice and adrian peterson walk into a bar.... and the rest of the joke is up to you haha
Whether RR lost Hus spark or not is debatable but he is far FAR from being a "scumbag"
Am I thinking of someone else that got in a domestic abuse case? I havent heard about him in a while but didnt he ge axed from ther avens for that.
It's not just Skip, but he's the worst of a bad bunch atm. All the comments on Twitter and Facebook are just embarrassing. Why is it so difficult for people to just realise he lost to a better fighter?
I dont know man, its the same for all sports like fans think they ar eliterally part of the team and the reason why they win or lose.
I definitely agree with you. De La Hoya was a tougher fight for Floyd. Here's my thing though Pats, as soon as Floyd beats the "pubbed up" champion of the masses; Floyd is NEVER given his props for the victory but people immediately start tossing out other names like now...Golvokin and Khan. Lol! After every fight this happens. Not you personally, but people quickly start searching for the "next" guy that could possibly beat Mayweather and when they get in the ring with him...we see the results. So at this point...it really doesn't matter!
Absolutely!
Hold up and pump the brakes BRavens. Lol! Floyd is arguably (to me anyways) the best boxer of this generation. However, he is nowhere near the level of an Ali. Not even close. Sure, the times in which they fought are different and boxing now, is completely different than during Ali's time. On one hand, Ali had no choice but to go through a tough Heavyweight division because of the likes of Joe Frazier (fought 3 xs), Ken Norton (fought 2xs) and George Foreman to name a few. And on the other hand, Floyd hasn't fought any "Frazier, Norton or Foreman-like" fighters. He outclasses them all! So, while I love his 48-0 record which is very impressive in this era of boxing, he just doesn't have main rivals like Ali had in Frazier or like Leonard had with Duran, Hearns and Hagler. To win those types of battles get you put up there with the legends of the sport imho.
Sugar Ray Robinson is boxing perfection personified. Enough said! Lol.
Man you're lucky you are not a ufc fan like me because that stuff happens at least 3 times a year when a dominant fighter wins that fans don't like or whatever they always call the next guy up who's meant to beat them instead of giving credit. Sugar ray has had over 180 pro fights and won most of them and over 100 kos, thats never being repeated. He has 4 wins over jake lamotta alone he was a legend. Ironically him and floyd are both detroit boys.
I agree with this. I hate Mayweather because he's a wife-beating [use your imagination because the word I want to use would get deleted] and wanted to see him get hammered, but I couldn't see it happening. I'm not a boxing expert at all, but in my experience of watching sports, a clash of styles between free-flowing and attacking vs controlled and defensive doesn't usually end well for the aggressive side/player unless they're head and shoulders above their opponent.
As for Mayweather's style, it's the same as with any other sport. If you're a huge fan of either him or the sport (and love to watch a master at work) then I can see how he'd be a lot of fun to watch. But for the casuals, or those who just don't like him, it comes off as negative and tedious. Same as with the Sea Eagles in the NRL (give me a minute while I enjoy how much they suck right now), Chelsea in football/soccer, pretty much every Rugby World Cup winner except for 1987 and 1991, the majority of the Stanley Cup winners, and I could name examples all day but you get the idea. At least, that's my impression from the perspective of one who doesn't know much about the finer points of boxing beyond the basic dynamics of attacking/defensive moves and counter-moves.
And I agree the Pacquaio fans need to stop embarrassing themselves (looking at you Skip Bayless). I really wanted him to win, but he got beaten fair and square.
Yeah skip bayless is that one cheerleader you don't want, he almost makes me want to rescind my pats loyalty and fanship... almost dammit skip.
Sugar Ray was before my time(he died a couple years before I was born) and I haven't seen any of his fights replayed on tv so I can't speak on him.I'm only comparing Floyd to other boxers skill wise.I know that a heavyweight would take his head off lol.Skill wise the only guy I can really think of that I've seen do some of the things Floyd do is Ali.I don't think it's a reach to go that far. He's 48-0,has never officially been knocked down and beats almost everyone effortlessly. What else does the guy have to do to reach that mythical status???
The reason I brought up skillful heavyweights is that the margin for error is so damn slim in that division, one punch can ruin your night, whereas floyds weight you have a lot more leeway. Floyd will go down as one of the best defensive boxers of all time for sure
I think it's time for people to start putting Floyd up there with legends like Ali.This was the fight everyone pointed to whenever someone brings up Floyd's record and his dominance and Floyd went out there and made that animal look average.I'm a huge Mayweather fan and I was a little bit afraid that he wouldn't be able to do his usual ducking and dodging because of Pacs hand speed and aggressiveness.Last night he did what he does to every opponent and he made it look easy.I've seen every Pac fight dating back to 07 or 08 and nobody in that time frame dominated him statistically the way Floyd did.He just might be the greatest boxer to ever live.
I wouldn't go that far but he is no doubt spectacular, sugar ray robinson is one fighter that is pretty tough to top and there's been some great heavyweights back in the day. The day I knew mayweather would never be troubled by pacquiao was pacman vs marquez 3 which I felt pac was outboxed pretty cleanly by marquez yet got an unjust decision.
I agree.
I never thought Pacman would or could beat Mayweather. Especially, after those roid allegations and his dropping significant muscle size afterwards. The reality is that he just didn't live up to the media and public opinion and hype in this fight against Mayweather.....just like all of the other opponents (i.e. De La Hoya, Mosley, Cotto, Alvarez, Hatton, Guerrero, Oritz and Maidana etc.) that got built up as "the one" to finally beat Floyd! 48 have tried and 48 have failed! I look forward to his last fight in September.
I think de la hoya gave floyd the best fight out of them all, and even he was a little too outclassed but that was a much better fight. If he fights golvokin I would be beyond hyped but i wont hold my breath on that one, most likely it will be amir khan in an england stadium big money fight. Also the casual fan and boxing fan fool doesn't realise how hard it is to avoid getting hit in a fight with another professional fighter. I train MMA and boxing and kickboxing and it's damn tough to read your opponents moves and time his actions and reactions well. Floyd's defense is a masterpiece and is beyond admirable in a fighter, if I could get even half that kind of defense in my life I would be stoked.
Dude, I love "boxing" that is why I can get hype for that fight. Smh! Everyone wants to see a brawl. I believe that is because of this MMA society that we are presently in. Case and point your mention of Rousey. I don't follow MMA whatsoever. Can't stand it! Floyd isn't nor ever has been a brawler. But let's keep it real; only those rooting for Pac-Man are mad! Be mad at Pacquiao for not being what you all thought he was not because Floyd was typically being Floyd.
I love mma and boxing, but really its pacmans stupid fans who created the wanna see a brawl crowd for boxing. This was such an easy fight to predict and I streamed it online for free. Mayweather is such a defensive and speedy master big fan of him and his skills. His next fight is his last he said so I imagine it will be a big fight with someone from an upper weight class. I can hope its golovkin but thats too unfair to floyd.
Good, don't want ray rice at all, bit of a scumbag and really lost his spark before his axing.

Not missing cruz or markaksis that much at all. We are missing a Bullpen and a good DH that's why we are last sigh.
