Williams will be a stud in the NFL he has all the tools, he has stuff to work on but they are things that are in the receiver's control to change. He will be a stud in the NFL.

Watching film, Williams does the same move every play to try to juke out defenders. It won't work at the NFL level, after he uses it once, a DB will know what he's doing next time. I think Williams will easily be able to make separation after learning other moves at the LOS.

Dude we should have just had Jamaal Adams fall to us.
Just now, JoeyFlex5 said:His usage at Michigan didn't allow him to show any kind of coverage ability. He was used almost exclusively as a blitzer and to sniff out screens and spy mobile qbs. I see a universal skill set from peppers that applies to any position, and that's instincts, explosion, and aggressive textbook form tackling. You put a guy with those skills just about anywhere on he field and he can make an impact
That's why I want him in round 2. But I'm afraid he won't be there. I think he will be a steal Michigan did not utilize him to his strengths as much as they could have. He wouldn't be the biggest need on this team since the team has 3 great safeties but would definitely add a playmaker.
Just now, JoeyFlex5 said:Wait did fournette really fall that far?
I think it was more interesting Allen fell to 15.
Just now, JoeyFlex5 said:Can you tell me why you grade him so lowly? I don't want us to take peppers btw just asking, because I think he's better than given credit for
He's a playmaker but one thing I couldn't believe was his lack of getting to the endzone and more turnovers. I think he will be solid in the NFL and taken day 2 probably in the 2nd round and I would be thrilled to get him at our 2nd round pick, but theres just something about him that scares me.
I've said all along Williams is the next coming of AJ Green and he will catch almost anything in his direction. Something Flacco has needed forever. Since none of the other receivers can consistently find separation. Him at 6'4 and Perriman at 6'2 gives the team two giant targets with more speed with Wallace. Would be awesome to watch.
With the 9th pick in the 2017 NFL draft the Cincinnati Bengals select......
Reubon Foster... LB... Alabama
As much as I want Foster on the Ravens I think the pairing of the Bengals and Foster is just too fantastic to pass up.
Throw the deep ball. Work on Flacco's footwork and reads. Flacco showed he can be a top quarterback in this league they need to surround him and prepare him better than they have the last couple years. And for god's sake can Baltimore get some wide receivers that can actually get 3 inches of separation?
Pittsburgh has the easiest schedule ever. They play the Vikings and the Ravens after their Thursday night games if not more. I don't mind our schedule and think it is balanced but jeez.
1 minute ago, JoeyFlex5 said:It's not just this incident though, it's multiple concerns.
Both issues you have occured on the same day. I would just chalk it up as a bad day if he has a good excuse. He acted pretty poorly at the combine with the hospital worker but hearing reports that the hospital workers were out of line with him that gives me a pass. He didn't fail a test and I honestly could see a player doing what he said he did to try to add weight before the combine.
Like I said luckily the Ravens have a lot of Alabama ties so they know for sure draft day. I think he is drafted round one easily.
15 minutes ago, jboy19 said:I'd be okay with Foster, but Im not sure teams will care that much. Shane Ray got cited for Marijuana possession the week of the draft and still went in the first.
Exactly and Foster is on a whole different level than Ray.
4 minutes ago, KBoum said:Even if he drank 4 gallons of water RIGHT before his test, the tester would see right away his piss is too clear and would ask for a second sample like 1 hour later and he couldnt leave the room. I don't get the I drank lots of water to bulk up, it has no sense. This wouldnt be a failed or positive test, they would just take another test. Sounds to me he drank something to cover something else or he manipulated the sample, which is almost impossible because when you take a test, they need to see your hands at ALL time. Unless this isn't the same at the combine for whatever reasons. Why in the world an adviser would tell a prospect to drink lots of water so he would be a little more heavier (like what 5 lbs ?) if this could result in a failed test, which means a lower draft rank, which means LOT Less millions. Who would spit on millions for 5 lbs ? Teams aren't that stupid. If he was really sick and lost bunch of weight, you tell teams and they weight you at your Visit or Proday or whatever and you normally gain the weight really easily.
Thats just a bunch of bullcrap by a liar to me. I wouldn't draft him in the 1st thats for sure
I disagree he is a top 5 talent he will still likely go before the Ravens pick. If he is there at #16 his name will be on the card. No advisor told him anything he did this on his own. 5 pounds sometimes does mean a lot to a team. It sounds like the drug test is a one and done thing at the combine from what I read. It all just recently came out too and the combine was over a month ago.
38 minutes ago, Edgar said:Teams have concerns about his long term health as well. There are reports he might need a second shoulder surgery.
Starting to make Tim Williams appear a safe pick.
I still take him. He is a playmaker. Tim Williams is not a safe pick I am afraid he will be a 3rd down pass rusher, where as Reubon Foster is a 3 down inside linebacker.
6 minutes ago, JoeyFlex5 said:I really don't see teams giving foster a pass with his multiple incidents. I won't speculate on how or why thee things happened, but they happened. He may be a great talent but he's still no kueckly or Willis for multiple reasons, and we're talking about a linebacker, not edge rusher or corner or WR or LT, he plays one of the least valued positions in football currently, whether you think that's illogical or not it's just the fact, teams are more focused on the pass rush and secondary and LBs tend to be one of the lowest considerations after those things. I think he really could fall to the second, Im thinking a playoff team takes him
I have a different view, I think he is a top 5 playmaker in this draft. I think he is still taken early. The combine incident was really stupid and was a bad day all around for him. Luckily the Ravens have Bama ties.

1. Zachary Orr was far and away the most overrated defensive player on the team last year. I know that everyone here loved him, but as @-Truth- and @BmoreBird22 pointed out, Orr got a ton of those tackles because Mosely ate the blockers and allowed Orr to run free. Orr was a decent ILB, but my god was maybe the most undeserving all pro I've ever seen. If there's on thing that pisses me off more than the Jernigan trade, it's the fans who say that CJ Mosely is "just another guy", and Orr had a better season. Nope. When Orr was thrusted into the #1 ILB spot because of CJ's injury, he struggled mightily. There's no surprise why. CJ made the defense work. He's our biggest asset going forward and there's no question about it. He's gonna be a Raven for life.
2. There is no way in hell we would have gotten anything less than a fourth rounder from Jernigan comp pick wise. Even with his inconsistencies, a player with his talent would easily command $6.5 million on the open market. Which btw, given that our cap situation is significantly better next season, we could have easily afforded to keep him. That obviously wasn't in our plans(which is foolish and I'll explain why in the next point), but the return absolutely SUCKED. If we had traded him outright for that Eagles third rounder and not given up our own pick, you would hear 0 complaints from me and I'm a huge Jernigan fan. In my eyes, that'd be a solid trade.
3. Sorry. But we picked the wrong guy. Timmy Jernigan was an inconsistent pass rusher, but was a consistently excellent run defender who fit the defense well and was young. I'd rather have a guy who is very inconsistent as a pass rusher like Jernigan, but when he's hot he turns it on, then a guy who only plays 80% of the snaps. Given that the nfl has evolved into more of a passing league, Jernigan's ability to play three downs makes him, at least in my eyes, a more valuable commodity. I know he flat out dissapeared at times, but it's not like he was getting any help either. If we had more of a pass rush, I think we would have seen more pressures and sacks from the man. He's not an all pro, he's not even a pro bowler. But finding a defensive lineman who can rush the passer at a decent level is harder than most people think. And we just traded away our proven/best guy. For pennies on the dollar.
4. Finally, the returns are idiotic. Timmy Jernigan playing next to two very good pass rusher is probably gonna have a season where he gets 6-8, possibly 10 sacks. The Eagles would probably be inclined to sign him again afterwards, for a sizeable contract but one that'd be well deserved, and they suddenly have one of the better defensive tackle tandems in the league, and they basically gave up nothing to get him. I don't give a damn if he is inconsistent, trading up 20 spots and giving away your best pass rusher, even if he is a locker room problem, is a HORRIBLE return. It literally makes no sense from a logical standpoint. The Eagles paid pennies for a dude who as a total package is an above average player, and they move down and still get to keep a pick in the round. I can personally guarentee you that Timmy, especially as a proven commodity thus far, is going to be better than at least 90% of the players drafted in the third round this year.
I could go on and on about why this trade was totally and utterly idiotic, but honestly, it's post 4/20 in the state of Colorado. I'm going to bed lol
Brandon Williams is a hard worker dedicated to football. Timmy Jernigan showed talent, but he was so inconsistent that he started losing a bunch of snaps to Brent Urban late in the year. Brandon was a consistent ball player that opens up other players to make plays, like CJ Mosley that you seemed to rave about, you are not giving Brandon Williams his due. Timmy Jernigan will likely get around 8-9 sacks in that defense just because he surrounded by talented players and his one job will be to attack the quarterback.
The team likely would have gotten a 4th out of him you are right. But that is probably best case scenario, also a comp pick is near the end of the 4th round which is basically round 5. Would you rather have a 5th round pick, or a chance at a higher rated player or ammunition to move up in the draft? To me I would rather take the 25 spot jump in the 3rd round over a 4th round comp pick any day.
2 minutes ago, Edgar said:I don't know about Foster at this point. Hard to imagine someone not taking him late in the first at least but if he falls that far it's a possibility.
His medical and face to face sit downs probably determine that more than his diluted sample but this doesn't help him either.
He won't pass our #16. I bet he still goes top 20 if not way earlier.
If you read what the report said via score mobile, he said something along the lines of that he is not a people pleaser, he is a coach pleaser. After a few coaches mentioned him possibly weighing in too small at the combine, he then drank a bunch of water and ate a bunch of food to the point he almost threw up to get a heavier weigh in.
Luckily Ozzie is in the shoes to get the full reports on him. I think he goes round 1. I would be ecstatic with him at #16.
Reubon Foster is still going round one. Probably not top 10 like he was planning on, but nobody is going to drop him from the third round from eating like an obese pig and drinking like a dehydrated camel before his drug test.
Top 5 pick now available at #16 lets gooooooooo
3 hours ago, Crusader said:I bet Tavon Young out performs Jimmy Smith this year! I would also bet he gets to a pro bowl before Jimmy does. Teams will learn fast not to throw in his direction.
No lol. As much as I like Tavon, you are definitely sleeping on Jimmy Smith. He is a top 5 corner if not higher in the NFL and one of the most underrated corners in the league. Led mostly every category last season until hurt. A team that was #1 the first 12 weeks went down to #9 or whatever it was in just the final 4 weeks with bottom 10 performances in those four weeks.
Tavon is good but Jimmy Smith healthy is elite. People sleep on him because his lack of durability. But he really is a star in this league.
There is no hiding the famine on the offensive side of the football for Baltimore. No one has stepped up at running back, the offensive line is relying on strong games from Stanley, Yanda, and Alex Lewis if any of them go down the team will be in big trouble. No receiver to replace the attitude, big plays, and tough intermediate catches Steve Smith provided, and if you step on a crack you will probably break Dennis Pitta's hip.
The Ravens need playmakers on offense. But it will probably be a very long time for the Ravens to be an offensive juggernaut. If the Ravens return to the playoffs it will be because of them having a dominant defense. The secondary is probably the best in the league right now. Get a younger pass rusher and a guy to put next to Mosley and you could almost spell elite if Foster fell to 16 and a pass rusher fell to the second round.
4 minutes ago, JoeyFlex5 said:Oh yeah we always seem to make one late summer signing that really helps us out throughout the season it seems.
The difference between positions like cb/wr/edge and positions like RT/ILB/DT is our history at those positions. We have always done extremely well in all of those spots and have a surplus of guys who can potentially step in currently. We have almost nothing at edge currently and even less for the future, we have never done well with WRs and we have only one meaningful guy that is staying past this season, and we have always needed depth at cb and you can never have too many quality corners. Comparing these positions is just apples and oranges
Yep there is certainly some versatility on the offensive line and defensive line. ILB is probably one of the more concerning but the fact there is a 2nd round pick from last year and the team probably ran more of a 4-3 than 3-4 last year.. I'm not too concerned.
Just now, rmcjacket23 said:Well early leaks have the Giants hosting the Cowboys on SNF in week 1, so we won't be in that slot.
Looks like Giants @ Redskins is also the primetime game on Thanksgiving this year, so we won't be playing on Thanksgiving either.
I wonder if they will make the Ravens and Steelers again Christmas Sunday this year.

No lie I hopped on the Hasaan Reddick train early in the process and I am always afraid of the late risers. But watching his film he does everything right and he is everywhere. He has that natural pass rushing ability to play OLB or he has that tracking and closing speed that would be good at a Will linebacker for this team. Unfortunately he will likely be gone by 16 now, but if he is somehow there, I think the Ravens should take him. He is too good to pass up.
