Will we ever know why he does the things he does? I was so confused and I literally started crying it was so funny.

Just now, The Raven said:Torrey as a rookie still put up better numbers than Perriman did in his first active year. Just sayin'. And Perriman was supposedly more well-rounded with better hands. What gives?
You mean the fact the guy hasn't had an offseason to put under his belt? He was injured through both offseasons and is raw as hell. And coming off two serious injures. Also Torrey Smith was the #2 in the offense, not #3.

I like Brett Colman better and I think Voch tends to overhype some traits at times. But the guy's too fun.
I think he must have said something like this when watching the play: "hmmmmm man! Ohoho Look at that naaaasty spin ...riiiight there (brings it back 2-3 seconds to replay it)..riiight there. One, two three steps.. And booom.. Look..look at that man.. That's craaaayz man. I feel the payn for the right tackle man."
DUDE I love Voch lol his Zay Jones tape gives me every time when he high fives his teammate as he is crossing the field. He replayed it for a solid 2 and a half minutes talking about how cool and swag it was. I was DYING.
1 hour ago, atomicfront said:Boldin hall of fame receiver in his prime. Torrey first two seasons destroy Perriman (1696 yards vs 499 yards). And Torrey had 1128 yards his third year. So you are predicting that Perriman in his third year breaks out and still has a worse season than Torrey in his third season. Pitta was playing well back then and Jacoby was basically what Perriman was last year. Plus you had Ray Rice who was good for 500 yards from the back field.
Did you just really compare two of Torrey's seasons to one of Perriman's? Come on now we all know he was injured his rookie season. This next season is basically his second season.

The Baltimore Ravens had the league's seventh-ranked defense last season. Only four teams recorded more takeaways, and only three surrendered fewer first downs. They lost two key offensive players—tackle Ricky Wagner and fullback Kyle Juszczyk—in free agency, but retained top defensive free agent Brandon Williams.
And yet in the first three rounds of the draft, a team in desperate team of reinforcements for quarterback Joe Flacco used all four of its draft picks on defensive players. And it's not even clear there are starting roles for cornerback Marlon Humphrey, linebacker Tyus Bowser, defensive end Chris Wormley or linebacker Tim Williams.
These were, generally, picks for the future, which is odd for a team that continues to lose important offensive players and has posted a winning record just once in the last four years.
Did the Ravens really have that luxury? They're putting a lot of eggs in questionable baskets on that side of the ball, which could end badly with guys like the unproven Breshad Perriman, the old and recently injured Danny Woodhead and whoever replaces Wagner.
This doesn't appear to be a team moving in the right direction.
I don't like this and this is why.
The defense carried the offense last year in the first 12 games and nobody can deny that. Looking at the Giants game that was an easy win if the team didn't give Odell 2 gimmes and a bunch of big plays in the 2nd half when Jimmy Smith went down. The defense then did not have the talent to stop the run or defend the pass when Jimmy Smith went down.
The Ravens should have won that Giants game, the Pats game would have been a different story, and the two division games at the end of the season would have played out different. The Ravens have shut down Antonio Brown in almost every game Jimmy Smith is healthy.
So I do think the way this team is going to get back to the playoffs, and eventually another potential super bowl, is leaning on those key defensive pieces.

Oh perfect.

Oh okay so it already has passed. Then they need to start signing some guys right away.
Everyone just come over to boardhost with the rest of us. It may not look as flashy as it does here, but we will make it work.

He was always fantastic last season... Before he went down he was #2 in yards allowed and #1 in completions allowed.
Jimmy Smith is a top 3 cornerback in this league. I really don't understand why people hype Tavon Young and put Jimmy Smith down. Jimmy Smith held Odell to 1 catch that ended up being a fumble in one half of play. When he went out, Tavon Young gave up 220 yards and 2 touchdowns and for some reason people still praise him.
I like Tavon and he is a solid #2 or #3 cornerback, but Jimmy Smith singlehandedly is our defense. His injury is the reason we lost 3-4 games we should've easily won.
Just now, reed20 said:What are we waiting for on Boldin? We're o obviously gonna sign him so sign hin.
I think we have to wait till after June to sign Boldin and Mangold if the Ravens are actually interested in them so they do not hurt the compensatory formula. At least that is what I think....
13 hours ago, Maryland said:I sure hope so; we seriously need a possession receiver. We're already set with tons of speed, but I don't feel comfortable with Wallace, Perriman, Moore, and/or Camp as our only receivers. Wallace is a body-catcher, Perriman is injury-prone and drops too many passes, Moore drops waaaay too many passes, and Camp has never played more than 4 games in a season due to injuries. Boldin is just what we need: someone who can make a tough catch.
As for Mangold, although it's possible we could enter 2017 starting a center who is already on our roster, I can bet you he's not as good as Mangold. Signing him would provide peace of mind at the position. That said, I wouldn't feel terribly vulnerable without Mangold. Jensen played better than Zuttah last season, which isn't saying much, but he's a capable starter.
Problem, as usual, is cap space. They have yet to cut Watson and Arrington (they need to pass a physical exam before they can be cut without cap penalty). Those two, if cut, would combine for 6.7 mil in cap savings, so perhaps it's possible to make a small FA signing or two. We still need to sign our draft picks first though...
That 6.7 million could probably get us two solid veterans. I like it.
And with their 6th round pick in the NFL draft, the Baltimore Ravens select... Keeping their forums open.
Dang fans are grading the front office even worse than the media. Most media outlets have the Ravens as one of their top 8 or so drafts.
I would say nobody saw Marlon Humphrey getting drafted. But just think.. When Ozzie Newsome had all Alabama prospects on the board at the same time and he picks Marlon Humphrey when he is less of a need than all the other ones, that proves that he knows something we do not. I went back and rewatched Voch Lombardi's tape on him and I remember why I liked him so much when I first watched him. He will be a great press corner and he may get beat a couple times, but he is coming to a team with 3 top 15 safeties and one of the best inside linebackers in the business I think he will actually play extremely well next season. Maybe not a starter right away but we will see.
Bowser pick is my favorite of the draft. He will be a fantastic SAM linebacker. Even though he is raw, he has fantastic coverage skills as a linebacker, actually rated near the top in FBS, as well as elite athleticism to get to the ball. I think he will be an early impact player. Wormley made me scratch my head but the talent is there. A hard worker and a person we need at DE to help fill the void of Lawerence Guy. Tim Williams was a shocker because he was still there. He has that amazing quickness and get off off the edge and I think he will have a pretty good impact.
I like the two offensive linemen picks day 3. Elumeanor will likely be awhile before he hits the field but he has all the tools and is new to football. I would look at next year as a possibility of him playing at guard (probably longer to play tackle if they wanted him there). I love the Siragusa pick I think he may be the team's LG right out of the gate. Then you have the Chuck Clark who was drafed primarily for special teams.
I would grade this draft a B+ I don't think the Ravens could have been much luckier than they were Friday.
2 minutes ago, redrum52 said:OH I know. I flew to NY to see the game live. Jimmy was locking him down. Easily at least 3 games if Jimmy is on the field, I think.
The NFL is definitely sleeping on the Ravens defense. It was #1 last season first 12 games of the season until Jimmywent down, and they just added a ton of talent via free agency and draft.
6 minutes ago, redrum52 said:We probably win the Raiders, Jets and Pitt game if we have another competent outside CB. Hell probably also win Giants if Jimmy doesn't get hurt that game. One cb shouldn't affect a record the much, but for our defense it did. The top 10 number was deceiving by seasons end. It was credit built up from earlier because everything fell apart the last 4-6 games.
Odell had 1 catch and 1 fumble with Jimmy Smith against him in the first half. Jimmy got injured and in the second half Odell had over 200 yards.
This team could've won 3-4 more games with a better corner last season.
As of now it sounds like Lewis would be at RT, Elumeanor at LG, and Siragusa at C. But there will likely be a veteran in play and somemore possible shifting.

I like the pick though. But unquestionably Ford could bring a bigger upgrade. He's a pro ready receiver with great routes and catch radius and natural hands, and does well on deep balls, with quick release ability.
Why is he still available and why wouldn't we take a wr who does exactly what we need? Smh.
Elemuenor is a great pick though
Theres still the 6th round and the team needs offensive line. I like it it sounds like we are running the ball a lot next year.
Great pick. Taking our o-line to the next level.

In my mind you have Bowser at OLB and rotate him in to ILB on 3rd down and have Tim Williams play OLB on 3rd down.

The team I think has the safeties on the back end to stop that now. Remember back then there was no Weddle, no Jefferson, and no Webb.
