  1. Still plenty of time of free agency dude cool the jets...
  2. Not sure why this is negged... I actually like the idea. Josh Gordon proved he is a good receiver on the field. Problem is his issues off the field which aren't even really that concerning. I mean getting banned from the league for drinking alcohol after the league year was over just because he was on probation is really rediculous in my opinion. I think if you put him with a playoff contender like Baltimore I wouldn't be surprised if he shot straight. I mean a 6th is a low pick and you would be getting a player who proved he can hang by putting up a 1600 yard season. I actually would like that idea. But I do believe Josh Gordon is actually a free agent now which means that the Ravens wouldn't even have to give a pick to Cleveland. Give him an incentive based deal worth up to $3 million. Low cost high reward. I would love to see Josh Gordon here.
  3. Ravens not signing any FA offensive linemen as they are shifting their offensive focus towards 7 tight end sets.
  4. The secondary was the downfall in 2014 when the Ravens were ahead 58 minutes against the team that eventually went on to win the Super Bowl. So what does the team do? They added Eric Weddle and now added Tony Jefferson, along with finding a gem in Tavon Young in the 4th round. I agree 100% with you the team's achilles heel used to be the secondary, now it is the pass rush/offense. It won't be fixed in an entire offseason. But on paper I actually think this team is better than it was last season with moves still to be made.
  5. I think you mean what Odell and the turf did to Tavon. That only happened because Jimmy Smith went out.
  6. You know what I don't understand..... People still trade with the Patriots. And fans beg and plead for Garropolo and Butler. I understand every situation is different but DO NOT trade with the Patriots. They will win that trade. If the team isn't comfortable paying Butler $9 million a year and they know him better than anybody, but willing to sign Gillmore $13 million a year who is an outside guy and more of an unknown how he will perform there that doesn't draw red flags??? Moral of the story. Don't trade with the Patriots. Every team loses that trade.
  7. I think the same. If the Ravens had another shut down corner like Claiborne I think the Ravens start going into elite territory on defense. I know the pass rush sucks and still needs improvement, but that secondary is dangerous. Especially if the Ravens were able to convince Webb to come back (highly unlikely but still in talks).
  8. Yep! People seem to forget that the season begins in September, and that there is still several free agency moves and draft moves to go through. But to be honest let's be real, the Ravens defense was #1 last year most the season until Jimmy Smith was injured. If I was the Ravens wanting a title I think the team is closer to an elite defense than an elite offense. The Ravens front office always neglects the offense, but in this case I agree with where they are going so far. If the team is going to compete with the best in the AFC, most AFC teams have a high-powered offense. With the free agents available, the front office did the right move to try to slow those AFC offenses down. Sure the Ravens offense sucks and won't be any better without Steve Smith, and they will need to find a replacement. But them not resigning Juice and signing Juice shows the team is likely going away from an offense that uses a fullback. I don't think the team lost much from Wagner as he was a good RT but from the scheme changes from what have been told so far he did not fit the mold the team was looking for. In the end it will be 2-3 years at least for this offense to get on track. I think the best strategy for the Ravens front office to go was to improve their already good defense. It will hurt losing those low scoring games and easily blaming the offense. But I think the offense can find some contributors on offense in this draft.
  9. As a NFL team, you say one thing and sometimes go another route. The Ravens want 53 of the best players possible on their team. If that requires shifting Alex Lewis to RT I don't think that is an issue. Everybody wants continuity and for everyone to play the same position. But sometimes that is not in the cards.
  10. I have that gut feeling Reubon Foster falls to the Ravens after the combine. I feel like with the talent in this draft I think teams will surprise people and there will be a huge run on cornerbacks and quarterbacks before the Ravens. Plus if you really have to question a person's character you will likely trust a person you don't have to question rather than him. Corners are more valuable in the NFL today as well, I think the Ravens score big. Gut feeling.
  11. You're right man we need those 7 tight end sets.
  12. I agree I think SS is his best fit.. The only other spot I dare try him would be ILB but I still have hope Correa pans out there. I'm hoping that Foster or Davis falls to 16.
  13. If the Patriots are willing to pay Gilmore, and unknown from Buffalo $13 million a year and not willing to pay Butler an inhouse guy you know what you are gettin gfor $9 million a year you know that is when the team knows that Butler is a product of the other secondary pieces around him. Our 2nd round picks have actually probably been worse than the 1st round picks recently.... You can't also cut out Mosley who is one of the best ILB in the NFL that was drafted in 2014 and Perriman who had a solid rookie campaign last season. Stanley was the best tackle when healthy last year in the league. Sounds like the past 3 years we have nailed the first round so far.
  14. I agree I really want Webb back. Having 3 top 15 safeties makes me drool. And if Peppers was taken he could be used as a ILB more than SS. He may be small but I think he would be decent in coverage, Mosley basically is a one man running game stopper. Need more of a guy in coverage. I think that is why Orr had such a breakout year.
  15. Same.. While initially I never thought of there being a chance before, after his measures at the combine I think he scares people. But NFL executives need to learn size isn't everything. But it seems like more and more 1st round picks are high potential guys instead of high floor guys... I think that is a reason why there are so many busts in the 1st round.
  16. Before Webb got cut I would say no there probably was no chance.... But now that Webb is gone, the Ravens could still use Peppers as the #3 safety and have 3 safeties on the field. All built like strong safeties and would be able to drop them into coverage or down into the box and confuse defenses. Ultimately though, I don't think the Ravens pick him unless he is there at 48, which I highly doubt.
  17. Having him go creates another whole and another question. He is a consistent player who hasn't missed a game that I recall. He can almost single handedly stop the run. As much as I hated the contract initially, I think back to all those games when Haloti Ngata was out when he was still a Raven, and how teams would run all over the team. When you play in a division with LeVeon Bell and the Cincy duo running backs it is essential you have an answer for it. The team's run defense gave the offene a chance to come back and win games.
  18. Interesting board... Most analysts don't even have any offensive linemen in the top 20.
  19. Idk that almost sounds like a pick Phili would make. They have reached on guys in the first round the last few years. I could see the Colts and Saints doing the same. There are always those couple players that teams are a lot higher on than draft analysts, I think he very well could be one of them.
  20. There is still a chance he signs back here. Reports say the team is still working to sign him back, along with attempting to sign Claiborne. Let's hope that he comes back, he is one of the best players on and off the field for this organization. Drafted here, hopefully he finishes his career here.
  21. Plus Claiborne has been shut down on a crappy defense compared to Butler who could easily just be a product of that great secondary in New England. If they forked out $13 million for Gilmore but said they wouldn't pay Butler over $9 million that is when you know that there is something wrong with the guy.
  22. If the team somehow signed Claiborne, signed Webb, and drafted Reubon Foster, I think the defense would be better by a wide margin, could almost say borderline eilte. Problem is that is al based off of potential and assuming everybody comes back and plays at an equal or higher level than last season. Plus the team has not made any upgrades on offense and it will be another year of watching Flacco struggle because of the team neglecting to give him more weapons. But when it comes down to it, the team is a lot closer to having an elite defense than an elite offense, so in the end I think adding those few pieces to make the defense even better is a good idea. Let's just hope the team drafts young studs for the offense...
  23. How do you not think Thomas-Bitonio-Tretter-Zeitler-Coleman is a good O-line? The Browns were at top 10 o-line last year whether you want to believe it or not. They just added to that o-line today and have a few promising rookies as well. https://www.profootballfocus.com/pro-ranking-all-32-nfl-offensive-lines-entering-week-11/ Also so what does it matter how Flacco got the starting job? The Ravens would rather start a veteran over a rookie. Especially when they knew ahead of time they had 5 years or less of a window to win a championship. They had pieces around him that helped him succeed in his career. The Browns are better off fixing those other needs other than quarterback instead of wasting cap space on the most expensive piece on a roster and wasting their career trying to find 20 other players to play around him.
  24. Yes but if you watch the game most of those sacks are from good coverage not their front seven blowing up the league. In 2015 it was so bad it prevented the team from going far in the playoffs. The reason they got these sacks were the past two years were moreso because of Jefferson, Matthieu, and Peterson than anything.
  25. He had only 700 yards and was terrible at YAC. I think both him and Watson are gone unless Pitta restructures his deal to be cheaper. Would be better to go young in the draft and get a TE in the 2nd or 3rd round.
