  1. Just remember the farther you push the players when they already are on the edge of making an injury worse the more likely you will push them over that edge and make it more severe. Perriman getting over this knee thing now is better than it nagging him the entire season. I bet he could have still practiced the day he bruised his knee, I think they just do not want that to haunt him the rest of the season.
  2. Elam has a chance of coming back faster plus he has proven more than Urban. Urban has been consistently hurt. Even though I really want to see what Urban has to show he won't be able to play until likely week 13 or 14 and by then its near the end of the season and he has no room to grow. We know at least a little of what Elam can do and I have been hearing more positives from Elam this offseason. They may wait and try to get both on IR because I think the Ravens really want Dennis Pitta on that PUP list.
  3. I wish Urban didn't go down for the rest of the season (most likely scenario)... The Ravens will be putting him on the IR and probably going to try to find someone within the next week. I wish we knew how well Kapron Lewis-Moore has been playing. I'm good with our starters but I am afraid of how well the depth will perform.
  4. The Ravens had the 2nd best pass rush in the league last year behind the Bills. What people tend to think is that Pees makes his corners play off the line of scrimmage more because that keeps receivers in front of our cornerbacks which limits big plays. I think that is why we are always so successful on defense. I think Pees is doing great for a defensive coach he makes players play better than they really are. What Pees needs to do is try to limit those short passes which are a high percentage catch that rack up a bunch of yards after catch. That burned us several times last year and killed us against the Patriots in the play offs. They need to send Mosley and D. Smith back into coverage a little more often and move the safeties up top a lot more so quarterbacks are afraid of throwing it short. We couldn't last year with the talent at safety but I believe we do have that now.
  5. Kendrick Lewis was a steal in free agency. He will be a stud with us for the next couple years for sure.
  6. Perriman is a stud and I bet he will be starting on the opposite side of Steve Smith. With his speed I see a lot of yards after the catch. I know it is early to say but I think Perriman will get 1100 yards and 4 TDs. I see Steve Smith on the opposite side getting 1000 yards and 7 TDs. I see most the touchdowns this next season coming from Forsett and the tight ends.
  7. Juice is one of the best special team players on the team and he is a great run blocker who also has good hands. There is no way he gets cut. Just because Trestman hasn't used him much yet doesn't mean he won't start to be used more. He is a good reason why the offensive line played well last season and also why Forsett averaged 5 yards a carry.
  8. Brown for Berry straight across the board? Would be a dream come true. Would hate that salary Berry has but for the player you are getting that would definitely help our back end.
  9. Oh really... So you are saying that texts from Tom Brady to teammates talking about "deflation" which he then counters saying they were talking about losing weight is not evidence of it and that the Ravens telling the Colts that the balls being supplied were not in a way for the best kicker in the league to kick it into the back of the endzone like he used to is evidence.. The Ravens' staff member showed he talked to Pagano about the situation he was not blaming the Patriots which is what the league is looking into. At least the Ravens turn over their texts without hesitation and don't act like they have something to hide. Patriots won the divisional game due to now illegal formations which the refs of the games said they SHOULD HAVE stopped the play because they knew it was deception and they were afraid of losing to the Colts so they had to tamper with the footballs. I don't think altering the ball changes the outcome in most situations but it is a rule, he broke it, they warned the Patriots from spygate to stop cheating.. Now they are being investigated for illegal use of drones. It won't end until they suspend Belichick.
  10. Losing the depth hurt but this will not ruin the Ravens season unless Will Hill were to go down with injury as well. But in that case I think the Ravens would feel comfortable putting Kendrick Lewis as strong safety and having a younger guy bring up the back end. But that is worst case scenario lets hope the rest of camps the Ravens are injury free and hope Elam can bounce back and produce in his 4th season. Sad to see him go when they were talking about how much he improved.
  11. Depth is the most important thing in the game. Injuries happen and you have to do the best to stay healthy. Whoever has the best bench/the best health makes it deep into January. I'm excited to see all these young players shining. I am kind of hoping these young receivers really are shining like they say... All the highlights are against the back up corners. It would make me feel better if I saw Perriman beating Jimmy Smith or Lardarius Webb. I have faith that the corners will always play at a high level because of what they have done here, I am just afraid of an offensive stand still the first couple games and we need those early wins with the tough schedule.
  12. Kendrick Lewis was brought in because of his great run stopping ability and also his pretty good awareness in passing situations. He will be the free safety and he will do great at it. He had the most tackles on the Texans defense as a secondary which proves he was all over the field. Will Hill played phenominal as our strong safety last season and pending injury or him getting in trouble again he will most likely perform as well again. Elam has shown more confidence this preseason which has impressed coaches which will help keep fresh feet back there in the secondary but I still see him as a back up at this point as everyone should because he still hasn't shown he has starter capabilities yet. Brooks will return this season but was already placed on PUP which means 6-8 weeks until he likely returns but Levine goes back to safety who showed a lot. Safety is one of the deepest positions in Baltimore. Baltimore's weakest link in my opinion is outside linebacker. Suggs showed up at a heavy weight which may change before the season but it is scary to see especially when both him and Dumervil are in their 30's. Upshaw is solid but hasn't shown all what he can do yet. But think of a scenario where Suggs underperforms this season due to weight and Dumervil getting hurt for multiple games... That leaves Za'Darius Smith as our only main pass rusher. The Ravens need to invest in a pass rusher in my opinion. I believe some decent ones will be cut in the preseason.
  13. I heard Perriman had very few drops... Just remember the Ravens never give their draft picks first string snaps at first... Even Mosley last season started off behind Smith and Brown. Look how he turned out by the end of the season.
  14. Yanda was the 2nd best rated player by PFF the ENTIRE last season. Only behind JJ Watt. He is the best guard in the league. I think I would rather take my chance with Yanda for 5 years because of his consistent track record when healthy. I hope they find a way to keep Osemele though...
  15. I agree that it is too much money to ask for but watching him play he really is great. I honestly think that he is part of the reason Peyton has actually done well these last couple years... He has been declining. Manning has always had great receivers. He had Harrison who was already great, Wayne who was still good the year after he left but he is getting up in age now, Dallas Clark in his prime.... Then all his weapons he has had in Denver. Honestly he was placed in the best places possible throughout his career to put up those big stats... I think that Brees is better. I think Manning is good but when people say he is the best ever I cannot stand it. Demarius should make around 12 million I think he is the best receiver in the AFC.
  16. Justin Tucker did boot an 80 yard field goal I was there. 2013 season in Denver game 1 during warm ups. There is an article about it online... I think for sure it was a 78. But that ball still had hang time to go another 5-6 yards.
  17. With Jimmy Smith and Lardarius Webb healthy that's already a plus. Arrington is also a solid tackler in the slot. Keenan Lewis had 84 tackles which lead his team last season with Houston. Will Hill did great last season in his limited action. Also add in how Daryl Smith and CJ Mosely both played pro bowl seasons last season. Pending injury our secondary on paper is top 5 in the league to be honest. Us without Jimmy last year is like the Cardinals without Peterson, Seahawks without Sherman (even though he doesn't cover #1 receiver like Jimmy does but you get the point). I'm also excited to see what Walker can do he is huge and not too bad of speed.
  18. I wish he stayed but saying Suh wasn't effective in Detroit is far in left field... He was regarded as the best defensive tackle in the game today by most people. The defensive line is young but they still have a lot to learn, a lot to grow, and still have to play at a high level and early or the Ravens may dig themselves a giant hole at the beginning of the season
  19. Torrey Smith will have both more yards and touchdowns. The Ravens have more wide receiver depth and the Ravens offense is set up where it is a well rounded offense which is why late in the season when chemistry comes into play the offense seems to be on a whole new level because they spread the ball to everyone. San Fransisco has no defense right now, so I bet they will be playing a lot of games from behind which means a lot of passes... Also if Vernon Davis does not return to his old form then the only weapon on the 49ers offense is AnQuan Boldin. It's almost like they are trying to recreate the offense that beat them in the Super Bowl a couple years back.
  20. Oh really no defense like that before... So you're saying you've never played a defense with the players James Ihedigbo and Josh Bynes... Two players that we let go because their play wasn't at all spectacular... Never played a defense like Teryl Austin's before even though he was here how many years... And you played along side Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Terrell Suggs, and the list goes on and he plays with no named players now and thinks he's never played on a defense like that before... You're right.. A defense that isn't as talented. I love Teryl Austin and I bet he becomes a head coach shortly because he is a brilliant mind, but the Lions lost their best two players on the defensive line and that was what made that defense good last season. They got Ngata but he won't be as good as Suh. A bunch of unproven guys there. It can be good but I am surprised to hear anything like that come out of his mouth...
  21. If Torrey Smith went up for it and kept running that pass was on point... And with only so much time left in that game I think it was a good call to go into the endzone. It just wasn't that play Torrey Smith didn't try on if you look at the tape there are several plays he looks like he doesn't care. I love and respect the guy but that game made me not wanting Baltimore to resign him. He wouldn't block for Forsett... During play action he wouldn't sell the play... From the first quarter I knew he wasn't going to have a good game. Also I agree about throwing a ball into double coverage but Torrey had that first guy beat and the safety was playing too far back that could have easily been caught. I wish we had a receiver like Megatron... 3 inches taller than Perriman with a 6 1/2" higher vertical jump... Hopefully Perriman can make up that 9 and a half inches with his speed.
  22. Steve Smith is one of my favorite players ever.. Even before he came to Baltimore. I was so excited when he signed here. He plays with that huge competitive fire a lot of players don't have. Players like Steve Smith, Richard Sherman, and a couple others make the game even more fun to watch not only because of their football skill but also the trash talk and high energy competitiveness. I think it is hilarious watching Sherman and Peterson go back and forth about who is better. It's awesome to hear Steve Smith say there will be "blood and guts everywhere". A lot of people hate it but I think that brings a whole new intensity to certain games when they say things like that. Steve Smith knows it is a game so he makes the best of his time here it seems like with something witty every interview he has.
  23. I was about to post the same thing haha... I'm not too worried for the MOST part Flacco has had good vision. There's always those couple passes that he throws I wonder why he threw them every season, but other than that he is pretty solid. What makes me cringe more is when he throws perfect passes and receivers drop them and then commentators on NBC or CBS say how bad of a throw it was when the ball is in receivers' hands... Last season was hard to watch offense wise because it seemed like for every catch there was a drop. Fix the drops in the offseason and the offense will already take a huge step forward. Looking forward to Perriman proving doubters wrong as the #2 receiver behind Steve Smith then Perriman taking the #1 role 10 games into the season.
  24. Another Flacco hater. I'm over it... Just shove the words back down their throats next season Flacco by having your best season yet. They hate us because they ain't us.
  25. I agree PItta will go on PUP and unfortunately I also think if Gilmore and Williams play at a high level that they may try to trade Pitta to a needy team for a cheap price to get rid of his salary cap the next couple seasons. I love Pitta he is one of my favorite Ravens but look at the roster... If you have 4 tight ends on the roster, which you don't really even need 4 in a game, you're losing out on another position of need. I saw Dennis play in college at the University 10 minutes from where I am sitting now and I was excited to see the Ravens pick him up... But with the injury history and depth it is almost to the point of how much longer will the Ravens invest in Pitta. I want him back healthy playing 100% but that is probably asking too much unless he dedicates the rest of his life to football and conditions and trains all day.
