  1. I agree he has good vision to hit the hole but he fumbles and he cant even take a kick to the house when he beats everyone. There will be a better option the Ravens will pick up when all the teams cut down again.
  2. The problem I see is that the Ravens don't have many roster spots on offense. Last year they kept 2 quarterbacks, 3 running backs, 6 wide receivers, 1 full back and 3 tight ends. We invested 2 draft picks in tight ends so I assume they stay on the roster. So that already leaves 4 tight ends on the roster with Pitta and Gillmore. Quarterbacks I still see 2 in Schuab and Flacco. But when it comes to running backs I also see the Ravens carrying 4 until Taliaferro at least comes back healthy from his knee surgery. I think Magee slips there because if Forsett went out during a game we would only have Buck Allen who hasn't shown too much promise yet. Right there that means we are 2 spots over from last season. That does not include offensive linemen which has been plagued with injuries all offseason. That is why I believe the Ravens only carry 6 again and that is also why I wouldn't be surprised if the Ravens cut Asa Jackson because he is like 5th or 6th on the depth chart and has fumbling issues. Those roster spots need to come from somewhere which is why I think Daniel Brown gets sent to the practice squad along with Jeremy Butler. It's not that they don't have talent to make the team, it is just a numbers game making the 53 man roster. I'm sure people will be very disappointed with the next wave of cuts because 4-5 people will be cut that people want on the team. Orr, A. Brown, or McClellan will be cut I believe because we don't need 5 inside linebackers.
  3. Stats from last night. Schuab 7/7 for 88 yards Renner 18/24 128 yards 2 touchdowns I don't know why people are hating on Schuab he has had a spectacular preseason besides against the Redskins in which all back ups did terrible. Schuab also was playing more starters and better players overall. I do like what Renner has done but we won't know how well he will do against starters in the NFL. Schuab has that experience. I think people keep thinking about his past in Oakland and not what he has done in a purple jersey so far.
  4. Nothing against Daniel Brown, he had an incredible performance last night but he is not roster worthy. Unless the Ravens keep 7 and bump Butler which I don't see happening with the Ravens needing a 4th running back until Taliaferro comes back. Also they are carrying 4 tight ends. Daniel Brown played well against the Falcons back ups, but he is in the stage LaQuan Williams was a couple seasons ago. Made exceptional plays on special teams but didn't have enough to actually contribute on offense. And at this point we need to keep every offensive play maker we possibly can because our offense is going to be one dimensional until Perriman is healthy to stretch the field. I like Brown and I'm not saying he can't do more in the future, but as of now he is just a practice squad player. He is a journeyman just like Aiken and Aiken decided to finally put the burners on maybe Brown will next season. I'm not trying to take anything away from his performance last night, I'm sure he could be on a roster somewhere else but here there are so many guys grouped at about the same skill level it is ridiculous that no one has pulled away yet.
  5. If Perriman comes back healthy before week 3, I bet Flacco exceeds 4000 yards for the first time and will have most touchdowns in his career. Not just because of Perriman, but because Gillmore looks better this preseason than Pitta did the super bowl year. If that is true that is a bucket of touchdowns there. Also Steve Smith is going to go into every game angry with it being his last season. And don't count out the speed and size of our other receivers which Trestman is very good at utilizing. Trestman uses a more pass attack approach which means a lot more dumped off balls to Forsett who is good at receiving and pass blocking. The only scary thing that I haven't mentioned is the O-line is plagued with injury right now.
  6. Schuab is a solid back up.... I think Holliday may be a good pick up for returner he did incredible in Denver
  7. People were chanting him out the door. But remember when there was a time we actually could say there was a good chance a kick was going to be returned all the way? Now I'm ecstatic if Jackson makes it to at least the 25.
  8. Think of triple safety coverages. Pees runs a hybrid 3-4 and having Will Hill, Kendrick Lewis, and Kam Chancellor on our back end. That would be insane. Already two of the best inside linebackers in the league and two of the best outside linebackers, if the defensive front stayed healthy we have Smith on the outside... That would be legit. I also agree Perriman when he comes back healthy will become a star. You know why? Baltimore usually never as their 1st pick start out with the starters. CJ Mosley last year had to work his way up for awhile. Seeing Perriman day one of training camps with the starters and picking him apart, along with his great film of saving Bortles' you know what several times, he can be the next Julio Jones. He can take his time coming back, it would be nice to have him but division games don't start till week 3 so he has time.
  9. As much as I agree that he would be a good signing, I don't think the organization will be viewed well bringing back someone who did a crime like that. Especially when the Ravens said they will never draft or sign someone with background like that. I think he has done enough to be able to come back in the NFL, especially since AP came back after beating his child, but I don't think he will ever be resigned with us unfortunately. Only reason AP is on a team for this season is because he is one of the best running backs ever to play the game and the Vikings know having him is the only way they can win.
  10. Still cuts to come and they will be juicier names considering they survived the first cut. I wouldn't be surprised if they added more O-line depth since it is falling to pieces. Receivers probably won't be mentioned because our receivers are just as good so far as the receivers cut out there. Defensive line needs depth because without Jernigan or Williams for as season the D-line will be walked all over. Outside linebacker would be good for Suggs and Dumervil to be rotated off the field for breaks more. Honestly almost every position would be better with depth.
  11. He has a sprained PCL which is usually a 1-2 month deal. It just hit the 2 month time frame. You really want to rush back a guy with that much potential just so he can get hurt again? I actually like him sidelined this gives the other receivers a chance to shine while he was out. He was getting open consistently against the #1 defense before going out. Are you on the Packers boards telling them to cut Jordy Nelson because he should be back on the field? Schuab did fine the first two preseason games he showed he can throw the ball with pretty good accuracy. No one on the 2nd or 3rd teams played well at all against the Redskins to point fingers won't solve anything. It just proved if the Ravens get the injury bug in one position like last season in the secondary they will struggle which you can say about most teams.
  12. Injuries happen and sure it's unfortunate it happens more to some people than it does others. But if you really think Jackson is better than Webb, Brown over Orr and McClellan, and Butler over Campanaro... I think you need your eyes checked.
  13. I never saw Gillmore really as a threat last season. But when that play happened on Saturday I was flipping out. If he does that consistently and it takes multiple guys to take him down.. I like how he is getting a lot more separation from defenders this year from last and he definitely got bulked up and looks faster (granted his 40 time last year was terrible so only place to go is up). Definitely excited for this guy I picked him up on fantasy because I believe a lot of touchdown passes will be thrown his way.
  14. Exactly what I have been preaching ever since we won the Superbowl the last 2 going on 3 years the offensive receivers have struggled getting open on a consistent basis and it is a big deal. That is one of the reasons I did not want Torrey Smith back for 7 million. He got some great plays but he was not consistent and an offense needs consistency to move drives. Sure a 60 yard touchdown catch is great but chances are moving the ball and slowly getting first downs will get you more points. Kamar has seemed to start getting more separation... But last year when Steve Smith got covered because teams learned our offense bogged down. Which is why I am excited for Perriman. He only had one training camp but in it he was getting open consistently and that is what the offense needs. Also Perriman had some incredible plays on tape. I know I have high hopes for the guy but just watching him dive for balls over and over again from poor decisions from Bortles a couple years ago gives me high hopes for the offense. They have the pieces... They did well it was 13-0 with the starters in. I'm just worried about injuries killing us because the offensive line is getting what the secondary did last year and the defensive line is right behind it...
  15. Returner job still up in the air... Asa had a good kick return but did a terrible job on that one punt not calling a fair catch. Ravens need to capitalize on points which they did with the 1st string offense so I'm not worried. Defense needs to play with confidence. Players need to get healthy and the starting players now have 2 weeks to get ready for Denver. I really hope Jernigan comes back they were running all over us when he had to leave. Last quick note is after Crockett Gillmore's 31 yard touchdown pass I became a believer he is a tank. He reminded me of Gronk that play. If he consistently gets open and gets those yards after contact.... Man he will be good. Just picked him up on fantasy hoping he is a sleeper this year.
  16. Steve Smith for President. My hero. Stick up for your family. Jay Gruden is a tool for not keeping his players under control.
  17. Not to be that guy but playing well against the Redskins in preseason doesn't say much. If they struggle we are in deep trouble because they are one of the worst teams in the NFL. If we win it doesn't show much. Likely the only conclusion coming out of the game is who may be on the roster and who may not be.
  18. Torrey Smith during an interview after a training camp I believe it was came out and straight up told Kaepernick that he needs to throw it more and if Kaep throws it up he will go and get it. He doesn't take too many shots and the offense has no real threat until they get a better O-line, along with Davis playing better. 7 million a year was terrible for Torrey I love the guy but I'm glad we paid someone else. Good player but he isn't a player you pay 7 million on to be a #2 target.
  19. I agree. Yes he is a rookie and he needs to practice like everyone, but Perriman knows the play book he can go out there and still make plays. Him and Flacco had good chemistry before he was injured. Give him time to heal or he will be another player with nagging injuries the rest of their career. Honestly with Steve Smith on the field taking away the opposing team's #1 corner Perriman would get open without practice. Not many teams have 2 good corners. If he could get open against Jimmy Smith, Lardarius Webb (when healthy for a day), and Arrington with Lewis and Hill on the back end on the first day of training camp I think he already showed sky is the limit. And I am not on the purple kool aid I loved Perriman in college as a player he made Bortles the 3rd overall pick. Most of Perriman's highlights are of him diving for catches and making miraculous body rotations to catch balls. Bortles overthrew a person who ran a 4.2 40 yard dash.
  20. Perriman is my favorite player to play in Madden. Sure it is a video game, but his speed in the game relative to on the field against everyone else is probably accurate. He gets open a lot at only 73 overall. Perriman has all the talent in the world his ceiling is going to be incredible. With his speed and height, there is almost no way he doesn't go far in the NFL. His dad was in the NFL and that is why I know he will be a hard worker to make himself a player. But for now we will have to play tomorrow's game with Aiken and Steve Smith which I am fine with, but remember Perriman was playing with the #1's at the start of camp before he got injured and was reported he was getting open consistently. And I would like to think that right now our secondary is stacked... Hopefully they stay healthy because they seem fragile like glass but do play great.
  21. Why??? Darian Stewart was a no name until he came here. Levine, Perry, and Brooks are all young. Kendrick Lewis is a solid veteran. He led the Texans in tackles last year as a safety and safeties should never have a lot of tackles. He had more than JJ Watt. Watch his film and you will feel different. The Texans didn't even use him to his full potential. Like Harbaugh said earlier, Kendrick Lewis' best football is yet to come.
  22. Flacco's agent and the Ravens have already been in the works of extending him. Flacco has talked about making a more team friendly deal. He has been in the point of his life of being the highest paid now I think he just wants his team to succeed. Wouldn't surprise me if Upshaw got signed before the season as well.
  23. Most likely they will franchise Tucker next season because that franchise tag is going to be a lot less than what he should actually be paid. Yanda they want to probably see how he plays out this season to see if they sign him or K.O. if it comes to the point you have to sign only one of them. Don't forget signing a guard isn't a big deal right now we have Urschel who stepped in amazingly as a starter last season. Signing Yanda now wouldn't be smart after being the highest rated offensive player last season. That calls for a huge contract. Love the guy and one of my favorite competitors, but the Will Hill signing is cheap and he is an amazing player. Him and Lewis play both FS and SS so you know how much that back end is going to screw with quarterbacks heads having them switch off which stays back and which falls down into the box.
  24. Steal from the Giants. I'm glad he has stayed out of trouble. I hope that trend continues because he is one of the best players on the back end in the NFL. A complete stud. I'm waiting for his pro bowl year this year. What a stud.
  25. Webb is better when healthy. He is a solid corner when healthy don't act like Webb is worthless. Injuries happen and yes it sucks but you can't take away what he has accomplished here in Baltimore. If he can stay healthy he will be the #2 for sure. I'm glad Melvin is developing into a good cornerback, but remember Webb is good too. All one team here a healthy rotation of Smith, Webb, Melvin, and Arrington and our corners look pretty scary especially considering our front 7. What people should be worried about is the offensive line injury bug recently.... #2 O-Line in the league last year and it is falling apart before our eyes with injuries. Also back up running back position looks scary. Who are our play makers on the offensive side of the ball?
