  1. Yeah because there are so many Justin Houston's out there on free agency... I think the team signed the best guy possible that was left out there. They would know they tried out several players.
  2. Upshaw will start. Babin is a good back up to Upshaw and Dumervil for a solid rotation. A guy with a lot of NFL experience.
  3. I agree except in this context because Jimmy Smith played very well every snap on Sunday. Watching the game he did great in limiting yardage and great in coverage. I think he lead in tackles getting to running backs and wide receiver screens. Jimmy Smith was the best player in purple on Sunday. Mosley was probably second with his two sacks and being all over the field.
  4. I agree the Ravens have one loss they could've won against another play off team early in the year. Honestly every season they have a trend of losing to play off teams at the beginning of the season then getting good right when it counts. Arizona game is in Arizona though, thought I should put perspective on that. I know because I'm going to Arizona for that game First 5-7 on the road after that is all home games which the Ravens thrive in. If Ravens go 4-4 on the road and 6-2 at home they will get in the play offs.
  5. Well in theory Steve Smith would be a number 2 on most teams. I love the guy and he is one of my favorite players, but teams don't game plan around him. I wish he had more consistency with his hands he dropped a couple in Denver and was high in drops last year. Breshad Perriman is almost going to be thrown into the #1 role right away when healthy because honestly that is the only way teams will respect this offense. The offensive line is great but when they know targets don't threaten their corners they can rush more down. Perriman has the speed and size to succeed. He just needs to get back healthy. I am hoping he gets back by week 4 or 5 and hopefully we can sneak out a couple wins in our schedule. I don't know why people are freaked out thinking it's the end of the season it is one game and the Ravens are known for bouncing back. Keep Crockett on the O-line to help block along with Juice in the back field if need be and send Maxx out there to get catches he got open a few times Sunday. The Ravens are going to have to force these young guys to grow up. Upshaw will replace Suggs and will impress everyone and then get too good for our check book next season. There is a reason Upshaw was calling the plays in the super bowl and not Lewis. Leader in the making that is just overshadowed by two pro bowl outside linebackers.
  6. Bengals look good against the Raiders at home Ray.... Ravens are still in it. Remember Ray Lewis went out for the season the year we won the super bowl. Along with Webb when he was our shut down guy. Only 4 of our starters played every game on our defense that year and we won. It will be harder but we will be fine. Also with the offense don't worry about it. It has always struggled in certain situations. The Ravens offense will never be top 5 and it will never be consistent. Ravens always seem to bounce back strong after a loss. Wouldn't be surprised if Flacco throws 4 touchdowns against the Raiders. Ravens always seem to be inconsistent and play terrible one week then look like the best team to ever play football the next. I think the coaches need to maybe find a routine that gets them more consistently ready for every Sunday.
  7. Upshaw's value increased heavily after Suggs went out. Suggs is known for being a great all-around outside linebacker. He is great in run defense and can get to the quarterback. Courtney Upshaw is one of the best in the business at setting the edge. While he does need to work on getting to the quarterback more, I think if he exceeds 10 sacks this season I think he possibly could be the highest paid player next offseason besides Andrew Luck
  8. Rice was a great blocker.... What games were you watching a couple years ago....
  9. Anyone else afraid that Kubiak was the reason our offensive line was so great last season? Makes me wonder if Castillo is having them work differently this season or something...
  10. Not the receivers fault yesterday and it wasn't Flacco's fault either. Outside of Steve Smith's game winning touchdown drop and Flacco's terrible pick six, the rest of the game the offense couldn't do anything because the offensive line couldn't hold one on one. They played nothing like they played last season... Makes me worried that the offensive line troubles will repeat and do the same thing they did in 2013.. Second pick wasn't Flacco's fault but the first he needs to be accountable for. We were ahead and that changed the momentum of the game....
  11. Upshaw needs to be huge the rest of the season. Get better fast Sizzle. I really hope he doesn't retire he sounded like he was debating about it at the beginning of training camps. Ravens are still a good football team the defense looked amazing but the offensive line needs to give Flacco protection to throw. I wish there were a little more slants yesterday when the O-line was doing bad. Steve needs to catch those big catches. Only if Crockett held on two seconds longer to get his feet down to get the touchdown before the interception. Solid game against another solid team inside their home field. Time to get back up and play Oakland.
  12. Anyone else read the subtitle of this article and think it said "Flacco hasn't read Trestman's playbook"? I read that and I was really confused and scared for a second.
  13. Steve Smith looks mad on every interview he has been in recently. I really hope he channels it week one and puts up 100 yards and 3 touchdowns. Would really be nice to start off the season on the road with a win, but it is not a must win game. As long as they win those division games those are more important.
  14. Calling someone a hateful idiot really makes you win an argument. Valid point there boss.
  15. I really don't care that people said Brady did it or didn't. I do hate that the judge that stopped the suspension said nothing about if Brady was guilty or not, just that Goodell had no right to give him that suspension when he did. Goodell gave him a suspension because he wouldn't cooperate with the investigation. That's all I have to say about it... If you are pulled over by a cop for speeding and do not comply with the officer you get charged for not cooperating. Deflated footballs didn't make that game a blow out they affected the game little or none at all. The Patriots are a good team the only thing a deflated football would do would make a catch like Odell Beckham's easier to do. If it was a close game and there was an insane catch like that to win then there is a place to argue.
  16. To be completely honest I don't see much of a chance of us securing homefield advantage. You know why? We have only got 10-11 wins since Harbaugh when going to the play offs. This schedule we have is also brutal. We play in the toughest division, maybe second whoever you talk to, and we also play the AFC west and NFC west. Denver, San Diego, Kansas City, Seattle, and Arizona are all play off caliber teams right there. That is 9 play off skill games on our schedule with a bunch of other tough teams like the Rams that will be a thorn in our sides. I am expecting 10 at most. Always cheer against division opponents. Getting into the playoffs is better than no play offs at all. I don't see 3 AFC north teams going to the play offs this season because of how improved some of the other AFC teams have gotten, so cheer against your opponent to get one of those two spots.
  17. Yeah I know best receiver is usually double covered by a linebacker/safety and their number 2 corner but Harris is such a good corner to be honest I bet he could limit Steve Smith all day. I love Steve but Harris is also a stud. As the defensive coordinator in Denver I would almost want to limit how many players were on Smith to shut down the run if at all possible.
  18. All good brother we both got confused on what each other were talking about. Wanna hang out and catch the game tonight friend?
  19. Exactly what that guy was pointing out. Aiken never had dreads but Madden 16 mistakenly gave him dreads when the game released for the first couple weeks. Now they fixed it. It was really weird playing as the Ravens and seeing Aiken catch it thinking it was young Torrey Smith.
  20. If they did I'm sure the other 31 teams would come and say that the Ravens are babies and Harbaugh is a baby. That is what they did with the now illegal plays used in the play offs against us. Even one of the referees who was related to Kraft or Belichick I cannot remember said during the game he thought he should have stopped the plays to have the Ravens adjust to the offense. I'm surprised he didn't get fined. Along with some terrible calls in the preseason I really hope this isn't showing a glimpse of hate we will see all season.
  21. Aiken had dreads when Madden 16 first came out.
  22. I am still confused as to people saying Steve Smith Sr. will start on the opposite side of Aqib Talib.... Chris Harris Jr. is by far their best corner as he is a top 6-7 cornerback I think he will start against our best offensive weapon. Honestly I don't think any of our receivers eclipse 50 yards in this game because of the Broncos solid defense, but I do think that Flacco completes 30-50ish yards to about 3-4 receivers so I think we will be fine. If he distributes the ball well like in the play offs last season I think we will be fine. Hopefully we can get a quick lead and have Forsett run out the clock. Defense needs to step it up big time in this game.
  23. You know why I am not worried about our receivers? Yes we may not have a #1 target but by postseason the Ravens did very well rotating the receivers and spreading the ball around. We don't have superstars but we will be fine. Most our receivers run a 4.3 or a 4.4. That is why I am not afraid of letting Perriman get healthy. His ceiling is too valuable to risk at this point. Ravens offense will be just as productive as last year if not more productive. We have bigger guys and size does matter in the NFL. Our defense is healthy (for now), so our offense doesn't have to score 30 points a game to win. We are a balanced football team and one of the most well rounded in the NFL and that is what wins championships. Ask the Patriots against the Seahawks. They weren't nearly the best in the offensive or defensive category. Neither was the Baltimore Ravens of 2013. What matters is the depth on this team steps up when needed. We rest players who need to be rested for games that matter more down the road.
  24. I don't know why but Daniel Brown last night reminded me of a young Jordy Nelson on offense. That said I still don't think he makes the roster cut, but will be on the practice squad this year and possibly next year he won't be nearly as raw with his routes and will improve a little. He had an exceptional game last night but I don't think he showed any more than the 6 locks in my head for receiver.
  25. I agree cut Asa and keep either Vaughn or Pointer both did better in coverage. Ravens will keep 4 of the 5 inside linebackers. Last spot is up to Brown or McClellan. Up to Brown's potential (he looked great last night but a non factor every other game) or McClellan who is versatile and a great special teams player.
