  1. Does Flacco really want our defense to lose the lead late in the 4th quarter again then? Our offense has been alright but remember that two touchdowns so far this year is from the defense. Sure the offense had a good game against Oakland but the defense is getting turn overs which is good, but it is terrible watching a team march down the field 6/7 times to score a touchdown in 4 plays. The whole team needs to be pushed hard this week. Steve Smith has been loud where are the rest of you?
  2. Ravens defense just needs to play with confidence. Play bigger than what you are. It looked like the secondary was scared all day. If the defense just hit them a couple times and got confidence they would have been fine. Remember you are wearing the purple uniform that future hall of famers Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, and Terrell Suggs wore. Play big like a Raven. Offensive line needs to play more aggressive on run plays and Forsett needs to cut faster.
  3. Mosley is good. Give Perriman a chance he was a stud in training camp. Injuries happen it is better at the beginning of the season than the end. Ray Lewis and Terrell Suggs have been out several seasons with injuries, does that mean they are trash?
  4. One... Steelers won the AFC north last year. Denver won AFC west. Both good teams. We have to close against good teams to get to the play offs though. Time for them to turn it on.
  5. I disagree and here is why... On both sides of the ball there are plenty of veterans. Offense there is Flacco, S. Smith, Yanda, and Forsett. Defense there is Daryl Smith, Jimmy Smith, CJ Mosley, Courtney Upshaw, Dumervil. This leadership topic the Ravens have been talked about is totally false. Since the Super Bowl that is all they can talk about when we have leaders. We have veterans. Our defense has no confidence and our offense is having to carry the team with no run game. People need to step up we have more talent this year than last year. Losing Suggs sucks but you cannot say there is no play makers when the Ravens have more on their team than most teams. Also I am annoyed of hearing the Ravens need a speed guy at receiver. A lot of teams do not have speed and they still are fine and not talked about speed being an issue. Whoever comes up with these arguments makes me scratch my head. The corners cannot be playing 1 on 1 against pro bowl receivers. The Ravens need more hybrid zones to get these cornerbacks feeling comfortable. I really don't understand why pro bowl caliber corners like Jimmy Smith and Lardarius Webb are completely gone this season. I swear when Teryl Austin left he took our secondary with him. Wish we promoted him he is a talented coach and we let him go.
  6. All I can say is out of all 0-3 teams Baltimore has the best roster. Honestly people say it a lot yes our secondary has looked lost and our wide receivers are not getting open. But look at the talent pool. We have more talent than most teams and Harbaugh is an amazing coach. I think the coordinators need to be pushed harder to push the players farther. The Ravens DO NOT look bad. Losing by a score is still a loss, but if we lost by 20 in all those games instead of like 4 in each of those games we would not still be talked about. Luckily no other AFC teams are doing well. Look around.... The only teams with two wins or more are the Patriots, Broncos, Raiders, Steelers, Bills, and Jets. I do not see the Jets or the Raiders as play off contenders and it is still early in the season. Luckily the AFC is also not looking so well as a whole which gives the Ravens time to come back. But yes that means they have to start winning these games. Good news is Maxx Williams was getting open consistently against the Bengals when put on the field after the first half when Harbaugh realized Crockett wasn't doing much. I think the rookie is slowly growing. Get Perriman back out there as well and you have a lot more speed both at tight end and at wide receiver. Defense just needs a make over all together.
  7. I used to think that Pees was great. Now instead of bend but don't break our defense is just break... Defense isn't defined by one game said Pees and this game added to your resume....
  8. Then Pees needs to shut down Cincinnati in our house this Sunday.
  9. He won't play against Cincinnati... But against the Steelers I can see it. I can't wait to see him play in person against the Cardinals. He is going to be the steal of the draft. He made Bortles look good. Bortles wouldn't be in the league if it wasn't for Perriman.
  10. No joke... I think we overhyped our corners in the offseason. Jimmy Smith is our only decent ones and the others are day and night. But I disagree with your other post saying that Pees has nothing to work with when Suggs, McPhee, and Ngata are gone. Sure Suggs hurts a lot, but you still have two pro bowl caliber inside linebackers in CJ Mosley and Daryl Smith, along with Dumervil who is one of the best pass rushers in the game. Then on top of that you have an elite edge setter in Courtney Upshaw who called the plays in the Super Bowl a couple years ago for us as a rookie. There is leadership. I feel like Pees has no faith in the players on the field so he has our corners play 10 yards off the cornerbacks to give them a head start and then they get burned because of it. We have a solid core to our defense and we are not using it properly. Take more chances it will lead to more turnovers and getting turnovers win games. I honestly believe if Flacco didn't throw that pick six to Talib, which is one of the few throws Flacco has thrown that has made me face palm, we would have won in Denver. Defense needs to play more aggressive. Our safeties can stop the passes up top, the corners just need a decent shot at covering the ball or they are going to just get short throws for a lot of yards after the catch.
  11. I agree it seems as if the only time we get pressure is if our OLBers win their one on one situations. If they do not the whole defense is shattered and falls apart.
  12. Not what I am saying. New England started off 2-2 last season and a lot of people were saying how washed up they were and how much they were struggling. They went on to win a super bowl. There is 16 games in a season. The year the Ravens last won the super bowl they lost 3 of last 4 and they went on to win the super bowl. Good teams have bad stretches in their schedule. It is how they bounce back is what makes them good from a top 10 draft picking team.
  13. Colts and Seahawks are 0-2 as well. Enough said. There is a reason a NFL season is 16 games, not two games.
  14. Corners need to play closer up. Receivers need to play more aggressive. Offensive line needs to mesh better together. Honestly the entire team can get better in one way or another at this point and that is why we are 0-2. The defense made us lose against the Raiders and the offense made us lose in Denver. The season is 16 games not two and the Colts and Seahawks, probably the two teams named to be in the super bowl this year are also 0-2. If the Ravens go 4-4 the first half of the season they will be fine. Anything lower than that then they will struggle to make the play offs. The schedule is friendly at the end this is the tough stretch.
  15. Suggs will finish his career in Baltimore. From his two buddies Ray Lewis and Ed Reed he knows which one was the better fairy tale.
  16. Jimmy Smith is pro bowl caliber. He is top 7 and probably even top 5 behind Revis, Sherman, and Peterson and he is on the same level as Chris Harris. He plays well every game. Corners get a flag every now and then it is football and almost impossible to cover a wide receiver without drawing a flag. He let a couple big plays because of the defense Pees called not him. When you play 10 yards off of a receiver of course they are going run by as fast as they can because they start running before the corner so they reach their top speed faster. Pees needs to stop playing so far off with the corners we played close after half time against Denver and our defense destroyed them. It is the defensive calls not Jimmy Smith. And losing Suggs doesn't magically put 37 points on the board for a mediocre team, bad play calling does. The entire secondary did terrible and it's time to move on to the Bengals. Remember the schedule is front loaded with away games and the last half is loaded with home games even if we manage 4-4 the first 8 games I wouldn't be surprised if we went 6-2 the last half and that puts us in play off contention. Good thing we can fix these issues early on.
  17. Had Crockett as my fantasy tight end week one.. Got me two points... So I dropped him... First half of raiders he had 20 fantasy points... Hopefully he continues. I love watching him bulldoze people.
  18. I think the team just needs to get a dominating win to realize hey we are fine without Suggs. I remember how the Ravens struggled after Ray Lewis and Lardarius Webb went down in 2012 and they struggled a lot for awhile. While they weren't the best defense in the league it was enough for us to get to the play offs. Luckily these two losses aren't against division opponents, there is still a lot of football but that just means the Ravens need to play stronger through the stretch. I bet once the defense holds another offense like they held Peyton Manning they will realize that they are good. 1 person doesn't make an entire defense. What I'm worried about is the offense being consistent against a decent defense.... Raiders secondary was garbage but good enough for them to win I guess. They definitely played better yesterday than our secondary.
  19. Ravens need to prepare better. The offense did phenomenal. In a regular game 33 points is way more than enough to win. If your defense is giving up more than 24 points you know it is an issue. Ravens need to buckle down and now they cannot afford to lose games. These next couple games against our division opponents mean even more now.
  20. Can't throw deep balls when the offensive line has more holes than Swiss cheese. Need the tight ends early to make a couple plays in the middle of the field so teams start to get closer to that line then the one on one's on the outside will open up for us. But we need our line to hold. What happened to the 2nd best unit in the NFL last year and it is the same players.
  21. Thank you for correcting me I didn't see that it was just a bruised thumb... He left the game because of a bruised thumb.... So glad to have Flacco. The bruise is on his throwing hand so hopefully that leads to bad throws. We do need the offense to start going though because they need to get something going before that Cincy game.
  22. Suggs was a OLB/DE hybrid. When the Ravens went to go franchise him he argued to the league that he should get paid like a hybrid player because of the snaps he played at both. 3-4 outside linebackers a lot of the time are defensive ends. Ask Phernell McPhee he played OLB for us when he was a DE in college.
  23. Ravens play against a back up quarterback and against a defense that is missing both starting safeties. A team that lost 34-0 to Cincinnati. I like our chances.
  24. No kidding I'm hoping Monroe is back for the Raiders game. He needs to stay healthy as does the rest of the offensive line. I would almost would have rather had Osemele at left tackle and had Urschel come in at left guard over Hurst's game play against the Broncos. Also Wagner looked terrible as well he needs to pick it up.
  25. Wasn't pass interference because the defender didn't hit Crockett until already when the ball was there. Face guarding is legal. Time to get over it and move on. We will bounce back against a struggling Oakland team.
