  1. To add to this, there is still a wave of free agency. I wouldn't be surprised if 2 or 3 veterans are brought in for cheap after the draft.
  2. I actually think the best way for their offense to flourish is to upgrade the offensive line.
  3. I love Brees and I think he is a top 3 quarterback in the league but I do think his stats are really inflated from garbage time. I think defense is more of a concern but they do have 2 first round picks and both necessarily don't have to go to defense. Having a 1-2 punch on the ground will do what they want to do and will keep their defense off the field longer. I would scratch my head if the Colts took a running back.
  4. Dream draft. Highly unlikely but would be the best possible draft.
  5. I think it could be the Saints or Colts. The Saints have tried to run a heavy run offense and the past two years has flopped to the point Brees still throws the most in the league. McCaffery would be a good complement to Ingram in their offense. That is if they are confident in finding a top notch corner at #32.
  6. This would be a straight fire draft.
  7. It was less a Flacco issue and more of an offense issue. Didn't seem like anything in the playbook called for a deep pass. Even on a last attempt to win a game with seconds left the team checked it down to Pitta. If you are going to blame someone blame Trestman. He used to play in an offense with Forte, Marshall, and Jeffery where those players are talented and physically gifted enough to run screens and check downs 90% of the plays and win those. Little did he know he was working with no named running backs, a 37 year old coming off of an achilles tear, and a tight end who has a wish bone for a hip.
  8. He really was and to be honest I think a lot of us fell in love with his pass rushing ceililng rather than his actual production. He is very inconsistent. I think it is better for this team if they keep a guy who has solidified the Ravens running defense since Ngata rather than a guy who has struggled to stay on the field because of inconsistent production. The defense took a step back the day the Ravens traded him away in sack production, but in the long run it was the safer option and as of now the better option as of today. Next year we may be thinking otherwise.
  9. Reubon Foster. If he becomes a Bengal I'll throw a fit.
  10. To be completely honest I know people say Howard is a generational talent at tight end but I have a hard time believing a tight end goes top 10. Maxx Williams was the best tight end in his draft class and everyone talked about him being a 1st round pick. I know looking back Howard is obviously more gifted and athletic, but I still think he will likely be there at #16.
  11. I think if they are smart they go Adams. By far more talented than Fournette. I know it is a position that would impact this team more day one if they got Fournette, but I really hope they pick the better player in Adams. They should know by now it will be a 2-3 year process to turn that team around.
  12. Bold Prediction: Sidney Jones goes round 1. He was the top cornerback on a lot of peoples' list. Looking back Jaylon Smith barely made it to the second round, and secondary players are taken way higher than linebackers in today's NFL. The Cowboys knowingly knew he wouldn't play a snap in the NFL last season and still drafted him. I think a team like the Chiefs or Seahawks take the flier on him round 1. He will likely be back for the second half of the season as well.
  13. I mean if White is there round two I could see it. I see Adams and Fournette gone before the Ravens pick.
  14. I think blocking as a full back is less of blocking like a lineman and more angles and reading where your plays are going and their defensive pieces are going.
  15. I would be upset with Takk McKinley I really think he is a 2nd round guy. I would also be upset with Cam Robinson. He has been bullied a lot. I don't think his talent warrants the #16 pick.
  16. One of the nicest guys ever. I have family who actually live in his neighborhood. I'm sure the community is crushed by this. I hope they are able to unite and try to move on from such an awful event.
  17. He is a top 15 pick and with how it stands now he will likely be back before the end of the season. He will miss 6-8 games but he is a top 15 talent. Definitely top 3 at the position I would say only #2 to Lattimore. I can easily say a team that does not need a cornerback right away like the Chiefs or Seahawks can take him. They have the players to survive until he returns and would benefit greatly. I don't think he falls past 45. Especially when on the field he is a whole tier or two ahead of the round 2 cornerbacks.
  18. I disagree that Big Ben is on a whole higher level. He plays at a higher level because he has probably the best running back in the league, a top 3 wide receiver in the league, and a better o-line. This team has seen what Flacco can do when he has the right weapons. Not many quarterbacks will suceed in an offense that uses routes that primarily rely on YAC when their best target is a 37 year old coming off of an achilles injury, a running back who was cut by the Browns and a rookie running back that was injured almost half the year, and a guy who breaks his hips whenever he turns upfield and falls to the turf when he catches the ball. I'm glad Marty is returning at OC that brings at least some level of continuity. With that said, they need to take more deep shots. That is Flacco's strength. Stop it with the curls and screens we do not have the personnel to do that. The offense needs some weapons and some protection. As much as I want to hate on Flacco any level headed fan would agree that a lot is out of his control. He has played at a lower level the last couple years but you definitely cannot put most the blame on him.
  19. Sidney Jones will likely still be a bottom 10 pick in the first round to the top 10 picks of the second round.
  20. They have holes everywhere. I don't think they pick Cam Robinson that high. I guess I could be wrong, I even had a hard time with the Redskins picking him that high.
  21. Seems to be the trend around here. I guess I'll give it a shot. 1. Cleveland Browns - Myles Garrett DE Texas A&M Here is to hoping the Browns don't mess up and take a QB at #1 with recent rumors spinning. Let's hope that is Cleveland's way of keeping everyones' heads spinning. 2. San Francisco 49ers - Jamaal Adams S LSU To me I think this is almost as much as a no-brainer as the Myles Garrett at #1. If Cleveland chooses a QB, I see Garrett here and if so that makes the 49ers the luckiest team in the National Football League. Adams is probably the most NFL ready player and has an incredible ceiling. Will lock down the back end of any defense day 1. 3. Chicago Bears - Johnathan Allen DT Alabama Used to be consensus #2 and has fell a little bit. I still think he is a premier talent and the Bears will benefit from him falling to them over the course of the last few months. 4. Jacksonville Jaguars - Soloman Thomas DT Stanford Jaguars seem to always pick the risers. They continue to add to their defense. 5. Tennesee Titans - Malik Hooker S Ohio State Would've been #1 safety taken in almost any other draft. Ballhawking skills this defense desperately needs. Mariota will need to wait for an offensive playmaker to be called. 6. New York Jets - Leonard Fournette RB LSU Big-bodied bruiser to pair with Matt Forte. Jets attempt to revamp offense in first round like the Titans did last year with their 1-2 punch of Murray and Henry. Attempt to find quarterback in round 2. 7. Los Angeles Chargers - Mitchell Trubitsky QB UNC I love Phillip Rivers. One of the most underrated players in the NFL. But he will likely be hanging it up here soon. I can see the Chargers taking the highest rated QB and I also could see them trading back for a QB hungry team. A lot of Charger fans will likely not like this pick, but it will be the new face of Los Angeles. 8. Carolina Panthers - Marshon Lattimore CB Ohio State That Carolina's defense went from hero to zero in one year. They drafted a pair of young guys they hope can be the face of the franchise. But I also don't see Munnerlyn playing into his 50's. Lattimore is the best cornerback in this draft and the Panthers land him. 9. Cincinnati Bengals - Reubon Foster LB Alabama The Bengals have so many needs, but the best linebacker and arguably a top 5 talent in this draft is still on the board. One of the most hated division rivals lands a superstar player the Ravens will have to play at least 10 times the next 5 years. 10. Buffalo Bills - OJ Howard TE Alabama While I think this is high for a tight end and I could possibly see a fall for Howard, the Bills get a dynamic weapon that can jumpstart that run game and get crucial first downs. 11. New Orleans Saints - Quincy Wilson CB Florida Surprised? Don't be. The Florida cornerback's stock has fell off a cliff the last month or so. But he still has the raw tools to be a #1 corner in the NFL and I think he is more NFL ready than people give him credit. Saints tried trading for Butler and I wouldn't be surprised if they tried for Sherman as well. Defense seems to be their goal. 12. Cleveland Browns - Mike Williams WR Clemson Initially had Conley here. I mean how many teams take the same position in the draft round 1 two consecutive years in a row? But with Gordon as a question mark and Pryor out the door I like the hands and aggressiveness of Williams to complement a growing Corey Coleman. Also starting to look like a fantastic place for a young quarterback to grow. 13. Arizona Cardinals - Deshone Kizer QB Notre Dame Quarterback that is a work in progress. A lot of people have other quarterbacks ahead of him. But I think he best fits their offense of what they want to do and he will have a year under Carson Palmer. 14. Philadelphia Eagles - Dalvin Cook RB FSU Many see the fall farther than this. But on tape I actually think Cook without off-the-field issues is a top 10 if not top 5 talent. I think the Eagles are a candidate to take a risk on him, and with the additions of Jeffery and T. Smith, watch out for this offense they are all in with Carson Wentz. 15. Indianapolis Colts - Derek Barnett DE Tennesee Colts need help everywhere. This would be a good start. 16. Baltimore Ravens - Hasaan Reddick LB/DE Temple The front office has made it clear. Upgrade. That. Defense. I think they know the offense is definitely a work in progress and it is to be made, but I think that happens later in the draft and post June. Reddick would be phenomenal at OLB for the Ravens and I could even see them using Judon in Suggs' other OLB spot and slide Suggs in at DE as he gets older. 17. Washington Redskins - Cam Robinson OT Alabama Start getting some talent infused into that offense to try to attract a Kirk Cousins replacement. 18. Tennesee Titans - John Ross WR Washington First receiver off the board. Titans get a good route runner with speed to open up the offense. 19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Gaeron Conley CB Ohio State Buccaneers have great linebackers and a decent front seven overall. They invest in the secondary a second year in a row. 20. Denver Broncos - Ryan Ramczyk OT Wisconsin Almost as difficult to type as Kyle Juszczyk. They need to upgrade that o-line for their team to go anywhere. 21. Detroit Lions - Charles Harris DE Missouri One of my favorite players to go in the first round. Wouldn't be surprised if he went higher. 22. Miami Dolphins - Taco Charlton DE Michigan I don't see this guy I think he will struggle early on but the raw skills are there. Up to Miami to coach him up. 23. New York Giants - Garett Bolles OT Utah Need an offensive line to throw to OBJ and Brandon Marshall. 24. Oakland Raiders - Marlon Humphery CB Alabama One of the most talented players in the draft plagued with chronic injuries. Raiders need help in their lackluster secondary that holds them back every year. Him and Joseph pair to make the Raiders defense great again. 25. Houston Texans - Patrick Mahomes QB Texas Tech I will cringe when I see the Texans force a quarterback. A team with a talented defense that gets to the playoffs just to take a plane ride home the next week. Hopefully they don't pull the trigger. 26. Seattle Seahawks - Sidney Jones CB Washington Hometown kid who would have likely been a top 15 selection who got injured. Luckily it sounds like he will be back this season sooner than later. I will get negged for this but the Seahawks have time to wait on this talent and him compared to the next guy is miles away. Steal of the draft if he proves he can come back healthy this season even if it is 6-8 weeks into the season. Seahawks have the pieces around to wait until he is healthy. 27. Kansas City Chiefs - Corey Davis WR Western Michigan I think he falls. He is one of my favorite players in this draft, but not many teams above need to invest in a wide receiver. The Chiefs luck out and get a solid addition to their struggling offense. He falls for limited participation in drills and combine, along with playing at a lower level. 28. Dallas Cowboys - Obi Melifonwu S Conneticut Everybody got up and left the Cowboys secondary. Pretty much any defensive piece would be a positive for this team. 29. Green Bay Packers - Christian McCaffery RB Stanford Yes yes yes I know, Ty Montgomery is a receiving back. But I think everybody knows by now that the only way the Packers will win another Super Bowl is through Aaron Rodgers' arm. Lacy never fit that offense. I think McCaffery fits in perfectly even though defense is more of a need. 30. Pittsburgh Steelers - TJ Watt OLB Wisconsin Steelers achilles heel is always their defense. They have talented youth but hopefully one day it clicks together for them. 31. Atlanta Falcons - Forrest Lamp OG Western Kentucky Atlanta's magical postseason run could be credited to their front 5 staying healthy. They need to add to it as they already have a young developing defense to compliment their off the charts offensive skill players. 32. New Orleans Saints - Zach Cunningham LB Vanderbilt Every little bit of help on that defense would help. I also wouldn't mind Takk McKinley here. Round 2: Juju Smith-Schuster WR USC: I used to hate this guy on film and he is slowly growing on me. He gives me flashbacks to the 2013 playoff run from AnQuan Boldin. I think he fits perfectly and the offense finally showing some life. I prefer Zay Jones but I think he is off the board by this pick. Would be happy with either one. Round 3: Desmond King CB Iowa: My favorite player of the draft. The most shutdown corner there is. People say he is too slow and then he proved them wrong at the combine. They say he is too small. I don't believe it. He held his own at Iowa. Would be a perfect addition to the secondary. Ethan Pocic C LSU: I don't like centers that high because most don't seem as versatile. I also think that this may change based off of if the team decides to sign a veteran center. But I do like this guy, he is a mauler who opened a lot of holes for Fournette. I think he would fit in blocking for West and Dixon. That is all I will do as after round 3 is a crapshoot on players. There are a lot of good players in round 4 and 5 that will just take time to groom. Any ideas of who you would want in the later rounds?
  22. I love Mike Williams' hands and how he catches the ball. He is a bully. Davis not so much but his breakaway speed is enticing.
  23. You're right I just re-read it. So I made the mock draft till like pick 23 and realized I didn't have Mike Williams on there. And I don't see him falling that far. So I had Conley at the Browns spot and then made the switch after. My bad on that one. I have been on record saying I believe Ross has a good chance being the first WR off the board even though I see him as the #3 or #4 wide receiver in this draft.
  24. I debated putting Jabrill Peppers for the Packers pick. I think he would be a good versatile pick for that team who loves moving their secondary pieces around.
  25. Part of me took him because I have heard him a lot and he is decently ranked. Centers usually don't go high. I havent followed offensive line like I have in previous drafts.
