  1. You know 2 or 3 months ago I wanted Reddick at our 2nd or 3rd round pick. Now that isn't a possibility as he is pretty much a lock for the first round. I would be comfortable with him at the 16 spot. But there is so much talent elsewhere it is just insane. I think I am more in love with more players this draft than I am the last 3 or 4 combined.
  2. Even Matt Cassel looked good in that system. Even Brissett who the Patriots say they are not comfortable yet having the main back up job looked like a god one of his two games. Osweiler looked to have talent, enough to throw $72 million dollars at. To me you trade back in this draft to allow another team to sink ship in this quarterback class. Get picks in next years draft and hope there is a guy or two in next years draft that are better than the ones currently. A first round pick for a guy only guaranteed to be on your roster one year is too steep in my mind. At least a rookie has 5 years to see if they have anything to show. If Garropolo does turn out decent he will be getting paid around $23 million a year on a contract starting in 2018.
  3. You don't have to keep most these players though. You can usually tell year one which players are misses and which are actually quality players down the road or at least have potential. Also you can trade up using the lower picks. They need to get as many top 3 round players as they possibly can.
  4. Luckily we have that John-Jim connection then to know for sure I guess.
  5. I still think his tape says enough about his breakaway speed.
  6. Yeah Torrey Smith was 4.36. Over a tenth of a second faster.
  7. But they also have so many veterans going out the door that they almost have to have perfect drafts. I also don't see them trading in the middle to late rounds, I see them only trading back in the top 2 rounds. They need the talent and they have the picks to fill several needs. They are by far not one of the worst NFL rosters. I would take their roster probably 5-10 teams.
  8. So what you are saying is he is going to be a good flag football player in his career.
  9. Well the Titans already have their franchise quarterback it seems like as of now. So they can go numerous directions. Meaning if a quarterback slid that a team was very interested in they could collect a 2018 1st rounder by moving back about 10 spots. It all depends on the quarterback needy teams and what they are willing to give. Arizona and Buffalo are two teams I would look out for. They could want to jump past the Chargers since it seems like Rivers wants out of there with the team moving to LA. Plus he is getting up into retirement age. There is also the Jets at #6 who need a quarterback. Or even Washington with Cousins possibly out the door. The Titans are in prime position this year to trade back. The Browns can also get a ton for that #1 pick. They act like they are interested in Trubisky as of the combine but there is always a price. 49ers are quarterback needy and some of those teams could be interested in leap frogging them.
  10. I actually think those issues of Cook is overblown from articles I read. http://www.foxsports.com/college-football/story/fsu-football-writer-questions-dalvin-cook-s-character-021217 He has done several stupid things and of course wouldn't be the safest option. But when his incidences are given more context he just sounds more like a stupid teenager than a gang member. And while being a stupid teenager can still get him in trouble at the next level I think a lot of this could be avoided with this being his job and professional career in the right setting.
  11. Titans finally learned that to build a good football team they need to trade away those higher picks and stockpile an extra pick or two. Good for them. The Browns and the Titans I believe are turning the corner. I wouldn't be surprised if the Browns traded back either pick as well. Titans next year very well could be a playoff team. The Browns are a little ways off but they seem to be building a team the right way now.
  12. I don't really see an issue with our safeties being slow I think Weddle was a top 3 safety if not the best safety last year and Webb was in the top 15 safeties. I think those one on one match ups on the outside killed the team when Jimmy Smith was out. I think the main thing is to get younger at pass rusher, get another good linebacker next to Mosley, and get a bigger stronger corner to start opposite of Jimmy Smith.
  13. What did he have 24 combined tackles? Correa only had like 5 or whatever, but Correa has more of an excuse being behind TWO ALL-PRO LINEBACKERS on the depth chart. And when you have Albert McClellan who can fill multiple roles and is one of the best, if not the best special teams player the past 5 or so years, Correa didn't really have much of a chance unless he became a probowler his rookie season. And that is way too much to ask of a rookie player. Myles Jack didn't show anything in his limited snaps. Both are young and have a lot of room to grow.
  14. Good analysis. And I also want to chime in I wouldn't base any drafting success on guys getting a 2nd contract in Baltimore. Because as we have seen since comp picks became a thing, the Ravens seem to let a lot more of their free agents leave somewhere else to sign a bigger contract and take the comp pick.
  15. http://nesn.com/2017/02/nfl-rumors-nfl-executives-prefer-aj-mccarron-over-jimmy-garoppolo/ There are several other articles but from what I read McCarron is actually favored more by NFL Executives over Garropolo. Don't ask me why, but I would also be hestitant trading for Garropolo because of his limited snaps in the best offensive system in the NFL over the past how many years. To me trading a top 10 pick for him shows the NFL learned nothing from the Osweiler situation. Sure they are different but his limited time was enough to earn $72 million dollars and the Texans already are scrambling for their receipt for Osweiler. A top 12 pick in the draft is trading away an almost guaranteed talent for an unknown in the best offensive system in football. I think the Titans and Browns have finally caught on. After both traded back last draft and both already talking about trading back again this draft you can already see their talent pools rising.
  16. I am so excited for the combine. I decided I will not go on the Raven Talk forums. All people say is fire Flacco, fire Ozzie, and fire John. I feel like there is actually some great debates on the draft forum and there are a lot less trolls.
  17. I like him a lot but I still think Cook has the higher ceiling of the two. I would be thrilled with either at 16. It just depends on where the offense is going. I just think there is more bust potential for Fournette than there is for Cook.
  18. I would agree I think there are plenty of 3rd round talent in this draft that is just as good. Harris will be the 2nd DE taken after his combine. My dream draft... 1. Harris 2. Kupp 3. King 3. Shelton
  19. He definitely has a 2nd to 3rd round grade by most people. To me though the only way I want the Ravens to take a running back if it is Fournette or Cook is on the board at #16. I don't think any of the other running backs in this draft has any more talent than Dixon and West is growing still. To me he could be a Jamaal Lewis type thumper but I think a reason everyone is afraid of him is that so many running backs have come out recently that have that thumper type build but struggle at the NFL level because players play faster and stronger. If he brings enough strength to break a lot of tackles at the NFL level I really think he could be a pro bowler. But at the same time he can't rely on it as much at the next level. I think that is why I like Cook a lot more because his agility and break away speed is second to none.
  20. I would cry of happiness if that turned out that way. But I really do think Charles Harris will be the 2nd DE taken in this draft. I think the combine will show his power and speed and he will jump up. I really hope he is there at #16. I think a more realistic would be Harris in the 1st and Kupp in the 2nd. Even though I think Kupp is surely rising, plus I think Kupp fits the need the Ravens need than Davis does.
  21. One of the more realistic mock drafts on here that I have seen. Reddick at our 2nd pick would have my jumping up and down. Rodgers is the steal of the draft. I agree on Humphrey it would be a 'meh' pick for me but it does seem like a Raven pick. He is a solid player for sure. My steal of the draft is Sojourn Shelton. He is going to be a star.
  22. As much as I hate to admit it because people know I advocate against smaller corners.... Sojourn Shelton is the real deal. For those who have not seen his highlights I think you should. He is 5'9 but he plays like he is 6'3. He is aggressive like Tavon Young but I feel like this guy positions himself and attacks the ball better than Tavon does. While I wouldn't advocate ever putting him against a taller receiver unless really necessary I think this guy is a remarkable talent and if he is there in the 3rd round due to his size I think you pick him up. Sojourn Shelton is my new draft crush.
  23. I don't like the whole rumor of a team trading for Garropolo. He has one season left on his contract and he was a 2nd round pick meaning a team will likely have to give up a 1st for the Patriots to consider. He is not worth a top 12 pick for the Browns, Bears, 49ers, or Jets to get. He has one contract year left and has had limited snaps. Most NFL Front Offices have came out already and said that they would rather trade for AJ McCarron than they would Jimmy Garropolo. I know this is a story because the Patriots just won the Super Bowl and Brady looks like he can play till he is 80 years old. But I think there is a better chance Arizona or Houston goes after one of those two quarterbacks. And I still don't think either one do because Arizona still has their faith in Carson Palmer for one year and Houston already has so much money tied up in quarterbacks.
  24. What I hear about Solomon Thomas is what I heard about Joey Bosa last season... And I still wish he fell to the Ravens at #6. Looking back now I love Stanley he is going to be one of the best tackles in the league. But I think people put too much stock into size. I think he shows all the traits. I think he would be fantastic a OLB in the Ravens' 3-4 scheme. He is only an inch shorter and actually weighs more than Suggs and no one can deny Suggs has been one of the best OLB to play in the league since he entered the league. I really think he makes plays and I would be excited to bring him in. His football IQ is pretty high and watching interviews he seems like a good guy to bring into the locker room. I actually don't think he lasts that long to 16. And his lack of tape online kind of scares me. But I do think he would be a solid pick at #16.
  25. I think more and more people start to see this way when they look at game field and scan where the wide receivers are on the field. The receivers on this team have struggled finding separation for years now. Sure Flacco has a boneheaded interception here and there but not much more than the rest of the NFL. The team needs a couple legit redzone threats I feel like the team moved the ball last year but couldn't get touchdowns. I'm surprised the wide receiver coach has kept his job the last few years after this issue hasn't been resolved.
