I think I figured out why most here are more concerned with a top pick than winning out and getting to the playoffs. Just the idea of grabbing a top 5/10 player is so out of the ordinary that the first time we have that chance it's fascinating to us as fans. So wanting to lose out to ensure we get that player, is something that intrigues us enough where losing just becomes a positive. Also the fact, it may be a while before we get this opportunity at a top 5/10 player again.
I appreciate that but I just can't get myself into the "lose for top 5 pick" mode. I want our boys to win as many games as possible.
I'm with you ABR, until the NFL says we are officially eliminated then I'm not giving up hope on a 9-7 playoff run!
Winning at this point isn't going to help us at ALL. sucks, but if I was coaching I'd turn the rest of the year as a chance to let the young guys audition for next season and throw in some different looks. No Flacco, Justin F, No Steve Smith, No 1st round draft pick, No Pitta, No Suggs? We have missed out on ALOT of players over the last 4 years due to injury and free agency. we need to retool
