His specialty being special teams was a fail with Devin Hester not catching the ball often enough. shouldn't there have a been a guy telling hester if he should move, fair catch, or return it. I feel his motivation speaking is not sustainable. I felt Harbaugh was needed in 2008 as we had HOFers that were tired of losing and he instilled/confirmed our culture. Now we need a guy to build up young guys. You have to switch your coaching style-up depending on personnel!!!!

personnel is important to every NFL coach! How many teams have an amazing development program? If anything during the Billick era you can say he was up there with Belichick in terms of homegrown players and homegrown coaches. Billick and the Ravens organization in general is a top 5 developer of talent and arguably top 3. we just have not been good at developing certain positions like WR...but overall we develop a solid amount of talent.

They weren't the 90's cowboys. However, the lack of quarterback was the issue for Billick...we were just blessed with a great defense, but competent QB play as in executing his plan was important. McNair was competent and Billick got everything left of him.....if McNair was healthy no question we would have won it all in 2006. 13-3 with a broke down McNair. Yes the defense deserves credit....but harbaugh hit 12-4 a couple times with less defensive talent than the Billick era because Joe Flacco is a fairly competent quaterback compared to Boller and Joe Flacco has more arm strength compared to 2006 McNair. 1998 vikings were impressive...points record stood for 10years, period.

Colts, Pats, Ravens, Steelers, and Broncos. Only 5 teams in 16 years! Let's get a grip and realize that since 2000...in the AFC only the pats have more Superbowl trophies than the Ravens. Yes, I feel 2006 and 2014 were ours for the taking as well....but a broken-down Air McNair (RIP) and a cheating (not giving us time to sub, barely declaring eligible receivers and deflated balls) pats team cut those seasons short. Just saying that we have been a fortunate organization during the Billick and Harbaugh eras considering we had to withstand two of the best ever in Brady and Manning both being in the AFC. And also having to deal with another Hall of Famer in Big Ben. The fact that the Ravens have had success at the highest level is amazing considering the last 16 years have been unprecedented in NFL HISTORY in terms of the AFC having 3 of the best QB's in NFL history playing at the same time! Let's remember to give the Ravens Organization their just due! we weathered a severe storm....

he was a team cancer in Carolina many a times. He undermined Cam Newton and therefore was let go, lol. Luckily we got the older Steve Smith and Flacco kept him happy with targets. Yeah, I generally like him as a Raven and respected him as a Panther....but dude was a team cancer one too many times. Way to over emotional with his teammates and damn near broke one of his teammates nose cause he couldn't handle being trashed talk. it's like people don't know his history...this is funny to me! We got lucky on the Ravens but dude is a hot head and has been a bad teammate one too many years. Older age gave us a decent Steve Smith...Carolina Steve we definitely did not need on our team!!!!

Steelers had a proven 2X superbowl champion in Big Ben...who got better as he career progressed. he used to read one side of the field and then take off tO run his first 4 seasons. Flacco is kinda inconsistent in terms of carrying a teams.... so it's never a wait for the right pieces type of issue like Big Ben had. Playoff time I wouldn't take anyone over Flacco...but Flacco as a guy to carry a team to the playoffs with elite play every week I he can't do thus far.

1/2 the pieces are in place.... Rex may sit out a season and so may Marvin if he's fired this year as well. If Harbaugh misses the playoffs next year he's more than likely gone and Billick can make his grand return. Now if Harbaugh is gone at the end of the year...I think Rex or Marvin will be back as defensive coordinator.
