  1. trestman hasn't had a full season with a healthy squad. we have been in position to win the last two games....players need to make plays.
  2. that's flacco's call...he audible to that play.
  3. we would have won if steve smith didn't get hurt! SSS can get open against man coverage and has solid hands. we had a chance to win the game if we made some better catches and ran the ball a little more. However, we were in position to win with the game plan but the WRs could not get separation and we had some untimely drops.
  4. excluding no one! yes, excluding no one! that voice...that body language...that intensity....no deer in headlight looks...the focus!!! seemed like a broke Tom Brady for his early NE game manager days. he will be a good number 2 for us next year if not an off-season trade piece! WOOHOO...PLAY LIKE A RAVEN!!!!
  5. mallets has been in the NFL and his personality is comparable to Brady... thus far he is on that type of path from a leadership perspective. what does skills and games played mean? i'm talking personality type being very similar to a proven winner.
  6. I been a fan since 96...i went to a CFL stallions game when i was in elementary school. However, I was still a split cowboys fan until 8-8 season of 99 when the ravens finished strong down the stretch and I fully committed. vinny put up some numbers...and mcnair was competent, and a calming presence, but wasn't fiery.
  7. Brady has more rings than those dudes combined!
  8. not really. he never looked stupid on the sidelines like eli manning, Flacco, or a peyton manning when they messed up. he maintained confidence and accepted things were not going his way. Mallet still had the killer instinct look on his face and held guys accountable even he (mallet) made mistakes...just like Brady!
  9. he hasn't done anything Brady doesn't do
  10. I figure it's time to re-enter the thread I started....Actually, I never gave Mallet the stat nod, longevity nod, tangible skill nod, nor the accomplishment nod over any Ravens QB in our history. I am simply saying Mallet has an intangible I have yet to see from any other QB that has lined up for the Ravens. His body language and movement screamed command/leadership. Whole game I felt Mallet could win cause he had that Tom Brady laser focus...just that fire look that is unbreakable because football is his identity.
  11. short memory is important for football
  12. usually don't post in game threads.....but i figure this board will not go over the top with talking about tanking. i'm trying to keep the no losing seasons going!!! and spoil the steelers season down the line.
  13. yup exactly how the steelers used to beat us middle of last decade with big ben. corner can't be expected to cover for 7seconds, lol.
  14. I don't think Troy smith / Tyrod Taylor is Matt Cassel. The reality of the situation is Joe is only one hit away and we have been blessed so far.... and we are a next man up team and not having a solid backup is not a good investment and some people would want us to tank. We are gambling on one man to play all games every year and I'm not sure we are serviceable in the backup position and not sure we can keep rolling such dice. I want to win it all no matter who is lined up...or under center every year. And I don't want a Curtis Painter situation....just my 2.
  15. true. only karma would be nagata messing up rg3 knee.... and maybe ray lewis breaking mike vick leg pre-season game against atlanta.
  16. it was a couple plays to get in field goal range at the very very end of the game.....lol. joe has a high pain tolerance is what we learned/confitmed...that's all. he didn't really play on the knee and wouldn't have really been able to drive the ball down field if need be unless he backfooted everything.
  17. Big Ben has always had solid backups and they still make it work around the cap. Steelers been doing this longer than us....they keep a war chest at the skills positions and have guys that compliment big bens style. We need WR's that work for flacco...and a solid backup because we play in a physical division. when you play in the AFC North it's risky putting it all on one QB....and the bengals may find out the hardway too. Also, I don't think manziel plays a style that will work in the division because he ain't big enough to take the AFC North hits routinely.
  18. long as the redskins and steelers don't make noise we can survive a slight down period or bad season....our fanbase will still be strong and ravens won't ship out on the mayflower.
  19. but if everyone was healthy...especially SSS and our numer 1 pick WR I'm sure we would be better off. Plus if our defense was healthy all around we would be better off. we need better depth at WR like green bay where next guys up are playmaklers....are they even missing jordy nelson at all?!?!?
  20. many sports are individual like track & field, golf, tennis, nascar etc. usain bolt will disagree with you!!! pretty sure he's a great athlete.
  21. with all due respect (yeah, i know lol )....but, when was the draft re-instituted? Pretty sure the armed forces has been a career choice like anything else for 30+ years.
  22. I getcha!!! however, contracts have incentives and you get paid extra if ya make it too the playoffs to be honest. winning counts in the the nfl...and you need to add it to your resume as many weeks as possible. i don't know any football players with paid time off unless injured, lol. flacco can't go on vacation for a month and let the rest of the team handle it like the majority of us cubicles workers that accrue leave over the years. Flacco can't take two month of paternity/maternity leave like Mark Zuckerberg and still get paid....
  23. true. it just stings less for me because the media knows the name of our players and will make injury excuses for us. 2007 media acted like we had our starters and was simply a bad team.....our team pushed hard to get healthy for the pats game and aggravated injuries after that point. i just go based on media and other message boards. in 2015 people know the ravens are a good team and are simply having a bad season due to injuries. i don't feel this laughing stock mentality....and I don't feel like redskin fans and i don't feel like steelers fan are bashing our franchise like in 2007; that type of trash talk is lowered.
  24. Flacco ain't the first guy to be an adult and do his job, lol (all grown-ups with 9-5 make those sacrifices in different ways)....just sayin. plenty of guys serving this country in the middle east miss the birth of their children and they volunteered just like flacco. what's missing a birth when you providing millions of dollars to your family?.....most kids get over that slight, lol.
  25. 2007. mcalister, rolle, mcnair, ray lewis end of season all down. and then everyone else was nicked up and missing games here and there.
