  1. The Number 1 STAT of intrigue to be concerned with is wins and losses. Our record of 5-11 tells us just how good our season was.
  2. Luke's article is correct - Injuries aren't the reason for our record that's for sure. A lack of talent acquisition is. Could be some coaching issue to but the talent issue is obvious. You could see during the training camp and preseason games that we lacked talent across the board and it's finally caught up and exposed the fact no scheme or coaching can overcome a lack talent. Let's hope we're no more than 2 off-seasons away of player acquisiton and development to competing for a Super Bowl again. Go Ravens!
  3. I have no remaining thoughts on the Ravens 2015 football season. Can't wait to get out the country this weekend and enjoy a 2 week vacation away from football despite us playing the Steelers and Bengals the last 2 games.
  4. So if Miami wins I can watch the Steeler-Ravens from Mexico. OK. Fair enough!
  5. These next four games will set the pace for the off-season and determine which players will be here next season. A lot of developing players who haven't been as strong have 4 games remaining. I'd like to have seen the Ravens keep QB Renner on the practice squad and even brought up to the 53 for this part of season since Flacco was injured vice bringing in Clausen who won't be here next season unless he gets the opportunity to play and impress which he has in the past and found himslef unemployed. Let's go and let's grow Ravens!
  6. It's weird accepting the fact that we're not relevant this season going into December. I'm watching games to develop an idea on what 2016 may look like and with these young players developing early the next 2-4 years could go very well. Left OT, interior linemen with KO's departure, DBs, pass rushers, QB depth, and explosive receivers are all areas of need IMHO. I'll give the team credit for playing very hard and fighting to the end of every game. I think that's been a big factor in everyone still being interested despite the record. GO Ravens!
  7. On the positive - This team is fighting and growing before our eyes during this second half of the season early and extended training camp. Looking forward to seeing how they measure up against Seattle and Kansas City these next two weeks.
  8. I think as good as we've been, our younger players haven't gotten the opportunity to prove themselve for the most part until their 3rd and 4th years in thge league and then they have 1 good season and depart via free agency. We've been a veteran oriented team for so long and now forced to play young players who will ultimately benefit over the next few years as we now have a new Ravens football team that can stay together for 3-4 years. Silver linings!
  9. Harbaugh's leadership and coaching has been great this season. As for giving Jernigan credit for taking out McCown, I don't think so. That credit must go to Upshaw. It was his physical force applied to McCown's upper body that caused McCown's collarbone to break. Jernigan made a textbook tackle and those tackles rarely cause an injury. The video doesn't lie. Go Ravens!
  10. A win is a win. Watching this game it's evident offensively we lack talent: WRs are just slow and can't seperate to include Givens. The oline lacks physicality and got stood up several times. Jensen even got smacked on the 1st play and didn't do anything and pushed around later in the game. Dline can't get pressure on QB. LBs can't pass cover and Upshaw should never cover anyone - no big contract for him Ozzie!!! DBs tackled well but still give up too many big plays and Will Hill is lucky for the block and recover for TD but he still plays out of position a lot. Man, we got some holes to fill but Clay looks like he got himself a job!
  11. I'll probably be watching the clock to determine what time I'm going to sleep tonight. Doubt I watch all of this game tonight despite the AFC North rivaly between the teams and my Ohio family. Want the win but also the highest draft pick since we're in this boat.
  12. No shocker here! We've been a bad team even when healthier!
  13. Good week of practice - Sounds very familiar this season. Unfortunately, I can't rely on the Ravens media hype machine or coaches on how this team is anymore. Let's just see what happens.
  14. The only frequency and efficiency issues we have in running the football is Trestman. We have the same Oline and OL coach. The playbook hasn't changed. It's obvious there is a lack of belief in Trestman as the OC by the players and likely by the rest of the offensive coaches. He's not the right personality and hasn't demonstrated any leadership to date. So what a defensive puts 8 in the box? We've proven that OL can push the point of attack if you put it on them. It is simply the OC's preference to call passing plays 70% of the time. The tape doesn't lie but John has regarding this OC. I suspect they went with him because he wasn't going to get a HC position for a few years or ever again and I'd think they regret this decision simply because he's not a smashmouth run 1st type of coach. You can't replace Kubiak, but you can run the ball!
  15. No it's not complicated. Draft a couple of explosive WRs and sign another in free agency. Find some DBs in the draft and free agency. Release a few of these WRs and DBs who aren't making it happen. Make a few coaching changes: potentially both OC and DC, and DB. Restructure Flacco's contract to the $15M range. It's negative on him that he hasn't risen his game despite the lack of talent around him. Brady does it year in and year out regardless of who the WRs are and he doesn't put his WRs in the position to get killed across the middle or throw off his back foot for interceptions.
  16. There are some other players I can think of that should be cut: Aiken along with some of our DBs who have blown assignments and missed tackles all season (technique issues - right; they're just dumb players who can't understand the defense scheme). Possibly a couple of coaching changes too! That will send the proper message of what is acceptable for Ravens Football.
  17. Great there's no locker room division. Let's just win the next game and not concern ourselves with going 8-0. Hey, I think I need a bye from Ravens football too!
  18. Without reading the article that is a no brainer statement and on point. I think every team in the AFC except the Ravens have invested in playmakers. The league has changed to a passing league and it's evident by the rules adopted in the passing game to create excitement and higher scores. To win, just outscore your opponent 55-20 through the air. Hard to believe we've not adjusted by not investing in WRs and DBs. Those elite QBs have one thing in common, explosive speed at the WR position for the most part. That being said, "Go Ravens"!
  19. Ozzie, don't sign another receiver at this point - they have issues that's why they're on the street. They will sit for a month to learn to offense and Ravens Way. Let's be real: this season is toast and it's time to evaluate and develop the current players. Put the ego aside!! Dance with what we got. Want another WR body - move Brown from the PS!
  20. Will Hill tackle and penalty. I'll take it! We need to bring the NASTY back to our defense. No choir boys allowed.
  21. Ray shouldn't have to tell Joe to step up! Not sure how much Ray's speech impacted them because they came out looking like the same Ravens this season. Joe should have been on the defense asking for the ball back quickly (a polite way to tell them don't give up the lead). I think they will begin to play for him if he provides some commentary and show some emotion towards them. He mentioned lack of explosiveness last week and I guess they focused on that this week. Well let's enjoy the bye week with no news from the Castle like Elam.
  22. Interesting how the discussion is about how these WRs stepped up yesterday. It says a lot about their lack of performance and ability to play at this level. If they're not the #1 receiver they can't produce when called upon? Need #89 to go down before they get their head out of the sand and begin to perform. They don't inspire my confidence and it will be seen when they rest of the teams put 8 in the box for he run game and go 1 on 1 with this WR group until they can prove otherwise. Givens will be double covered with a safety and then what? Aiken and Brown don't scare anyone. Happy for the win but major challanges remain.
  23. Not reading this article but want to say, "Follow the 5 P's: Proper Planning Prevents Poor Performances" and the offense isn't our biggest issues though I haven't warmed up to Trestman. He doesn't seem to inspire confidence. Go Ravens!
  24. We're just simply not good enough with these players and schemes. Our best WR grouping: Smith Sr, Givens, and Ross = speed to stretch the field. WRs Brown and Aiken - they have proven they are not starting WRs. Defense: same old song - coverage and tackling. No way should there have been a 62 yd run if your defensive scheme is pursuit and gang tackling! My, my, my, how we have fallen and can't get up. It will take a few years to return to the top as one of the NFL best teams. Think I'll go play golf on Sundays, weather permitting.
  25. Flacco and Trestman slow transition: Easy. Flacco doesn't believe in Trestman's leadership. Trestman has no real credability despite being a HC. I believe the entire offeinsive unit feels that way and it's in the results. The oline has decided they will lead the way through an improved running game because there is simply no belief in the passing game. You want a coordinator who exudes confidence and Trestman doesn't at all and isn't a run first believer. Kyle would have been a better hired!!!
