  1. LOL! The last two week's articles have been hilarious but I'd rather we get back to winning games!
  2. Now the season begins! I don't expect to see a new offense, just a more defined commitment to the running and deep passing game. The oline must get healthy and in it's current state its easier to run downhill than pass protect. Flacco's mechanics suck and he's got rabbit ears now. WRs need to gain separation and make catches. Special teams have been acting very special lately. I'm giving the defense cudos! They're handling there business and I'm not mad at Mosley's fumble - He's making plays. Let's see how the next two weeks go! Go Ravens!
  3. Young Bro, you're sitting on two strikes. I hope you truly grows up, learn from this, and change your habits, associates, and make better decisions. Your time in Baltimore and the NFL can be cut short very quickly. You don't want to be Will Hill'd.
  4. LOL! Interesting. We do have issues! Oline: is it physicality or blocking scheme? Passing: receivers and route running/separation; defensive coverages; or Joe's decision-making and technique (back-footed throws)? Trestmann: scared of catching a run-game cold; doesn't understand the West Coast offense and NFL defenses or just plain incompetence? BLUF: sustain drives, keep our defense off the field and score some TDs. 3-1 after the 1st quarter of the season, I'll take it. 2nd quarter at 4-0 or 3-1 is acceptable and either way we must beat the Steelers. Go Ravens!
  5. If we're going to be passing team, we better improve the pass protection, Joe needs to make better throwing decisions and call more audibles, receivers need to gain better separation and hold on to the football, and we better develop a more effective running game to assist in play-action and keeping our defense of the field. Joe has been under siege all season while seemingly limited to dink and dunks by play-calling and poor protection. Whatever style of play it takes to win, I'm sure we all will go with that, but it's no secret when we throw 40+ times we lose.
  6. It's not complicated Harbaugh. Ravens Football is simple: Run the football. You know this so why is Trestman allowed to throw 52 passes? Maybe he should be Cameroned and replaced by Marty who has more NFL experience as an OC. Him and Juan led the Eagles rushing attack for years. No sense waiting for the bye if he doesn't get the message.
  7. Protect the QB? Run the football. It works every time. Let the Oline block downhill instead of backing up hill all game. If Trestman can't do that, send him packing back to the CFL. It's not complicated. It's Ravens Football.
  8. We say we're a physical, run dominant team, but we pass 52 times, 30 in the first half, 20+ straight times? That has never been a formula for success. So Joe can't audible if his pre-reads determines a deeper pass play is more appropriate? Obvious issues: OC, Oline lacks push and a weak blocking scheme, lack of commitment to Ravens style football: running game, discipline and focus (10 penalties), inability to adjust the game plan, decision-making - always kick the PAT early in the game.
  9. KO: love you Bro! Thx for your play and nastiness on the field. Just know, it's a team game and business, and not always about you. Money shows people's trueness. Give me Oz's 80/20 rule everyday and we'll stay competitive over the long haul! Go Ravens!
  10. I think Oline is the Achilles Heel of the offense. There is simply no push by them in the run game, thus no holes for RBs to cut back into, and Flacco is taking too many hits in the pocket or being forced to scramble. The blocking scheme also needs to be reviewed. There are issues. Let's just continue to win ugly.
  11. Stay humble. Stay focused. Keep grinding. And just know the competition will get tougher as the season goes on. Play Like a Raven!
  12. 2-0 is good but we're hardly there yet so an ugly win is a win. There are no soft games. On any given Sunday, any team can kick any other team to the curb. Let's just keep working to get the blocking scheme and run game going, while continue to also improve the defensive scheme and tackling.
  13. It's a sad shame the TV contract doesn't designate a specific level of service and requirements that is standard for each and every NFL game. NFL: "Let's just take the money and let them worry about they will show the games." Wrong!
  14. A win is a win is a win! I'll take it despite how we started, who's not playing, and whatever weaknesses I think we have. It's a win!
  15. I believe our offensive Achilles is with the OC play-calling and its commitment to the run game, and the linemen itself - they don't believe in the OC who talks run game but passes 66% of the time. Trestman inspires no confidence. He was a safe hire from a stability/continuity standpoint (who else would hire him?) and forced to learn our offense, and is almost a carbon copy of Cam Cameron. Jets had 123 yards rushing on 36 attempts against the same focused defense last night. Let's see how this turns out this season. Go Ravens!
  16. Perriman: unfortunately, injuries are the discussion surrounding him. It happens and more likely for him since he hasn't been on the field for a year. Chris Moore: keep quiet, keep learning, and keep working. You're one play away from Next Man Up. I think the best of Suggs, Smith Sr, will come the 2nd half of the year as they recover and get in playing shape if they remain healthy. Doom: despite the talk, I'm not counting on much productivity this season. When your feet hurt, there not much that's going to happen! Remember JSmith and Wagner last season. We have more depth and are faster this season! Go Ravens!
  17. LOL! Headline had me concerned for a minute! I'm thinking he's delusional as we haven't played a game yet. Thank you for the clarification in the subtitle. LOL!
  18. I went to the camp last night. It was good to see the physicality in practice. We've been a very soft team for a couple years. You practice how you play. Turn the youngin's loose. Hit but do not injure your teammates. Hit but do not cause penalties. The offensive players need to keep their head on a swivel. It's football, not volleyball. The league has gotten too soft and so have we.
  19. Back to football! News of interest now when I review the site here at work! Ravens - Let's stack days and work!
  20. It wasn't rocket science this was coming. Read the tea leaves, especially after Harbs said Monroe didn't speak for the organization regarding his personal cause and Monroe throwing the team under the bus on Twitter. Goes back to the formula of Pareto's Principle: can they successfully replace 80% of the production at 20% of the price. It's a no brainer when Stanley was drafted.
  21. Hmmmmn? Interesting discussion. I think, we as Ravens fans want very hard nosed and very physical impact football players who make impact at the most critical time in a game that either wins the game or turns the game around. It does appear that we have lost our physicality over the past few years when we're not able to make a simple tackle. We're used to players showing emotion as they take no prisoners on the field; killer instincts - on the field. We're spoiled fans and we love what we love: hard-nosed, very physical football players who make impact consistently week in and week in - on the football field. If we can get that throughout the 53 man roster with character players - cool. I'm ok with a player who has an attitude and challenges coaches and after the decision is made, executes as directed. It keeps teams on an edge. BLUF: Winning cures all ails! Go Ravens!
  22. I no longer get excited about our draft picks anymore. Too many failures in the top half of the draft the past 5 years. Success in this area would prevent the necessity of having to sign FAs on the regular. Let's talk about this particular round and its impact in 3 years. In the meantime, let's pray they put in the required work to contribute to the team next season. Go Ravens!
  23. We need a D-line and LBs that can control the line of scrimmage and get to the QB on call.
  24. Gotta love the NFL and Ravens media machine's ability to build year drama! Can we fans get an off-season? LOL! The only certainty is the draft is Thursday evening. All other scenarios are guesses at best until the card is submitted or there is a trade. Personally, hold on to the pick and select a potential franchise player. (Unfortunately, any player selected in the 1st round or top ten is not a guaranteed star.) Go Ravens!
  25. John, a great article to prepare us for another year of cap strap! Expect at least $12-$15M in dead money. Simply can't expect Pitta to return to form so count him as a loss; Suggs and Webb have restructured in the past and would be lucky if the team could get them to take a pay cut again. The well will run dry at some point and we could be looking at life without them and just like Ngata, try and get something in return in picks. Didn't vision Ngata leaving as such but that's reality as there is always a time to move on. The key is Joe and how much of a team player is he really? Does he truly value the concept of "team and foundation" in support of building and maintaining a winning program? Talk is cheap. Regardless of the future cap numbers and QB market, he should go with a 5-7 year contract at $17M per season guaranteed. Wishful thinking on my part - Leave some money on the table and we go win on the regular. That's a principle I learned in business and it's served us well: Make your money but don't be greedy; share the wealth and everyone wins! Someone else has adopted it too: http://mmqb.si.com/mmqb/2015/09/30/tom-brady-contract-nfl-patriots-salary-cap We'll find out as the drama continues. Go Ravens!
