Think its pretty clear who is leading their respective groups. Suggs leads the Dline/LBs, Weddle leads the secondary. Steve Smith was leading the receivers, and Yanda leads the Oline. If your interpretation of "leadership" is a guy who delivers sermons in the locker room or is constantly in the public eye preaching like Ray Lewis was, then I think the lack of leadership falls on your end, not the Ravens end. So apparently they don't have leadership from player commanders (outside of Brady) either, yet they seem to keep winning. In 2012 there were 12 players drafted by Ravens who started and have played mim 3 or more years together.. Theres still plenty of time to get another quality WR besides our young WRs will be better this year than they were last year. The biggest improvement comes between years 1 and 2. Given a chance, I think they will do just fine. They will do fine but someone has to be great. Ravens had Torrey, Boldin, and Steve. That guy is not on the team. Yet. Johns dreaming if he thinks the Ravens defense can be on the field as long as they were when Ray commanded the field. Loosing two oline players and one great blocker did not help those odds.

I would not say choirboys but if you say Alpha males with vocal personalities to lead men, I would say there is something in that. One big problem with the Ravens is that there is no nucleus of players leading their perspective groups. In the past (before 2013) Ravens had a leader and his generals. I would love to see Tim do that but I'm sure he will be put into his place. It is no coincidence the Ravens have done nothing since 2012 and the purge. Do you seriously think Ravens would have won the Super Bowl if the "mutiny" did not happen? The fact that it came to that point told me there is an issue in knowing your men. Knowing the "pulse" of your team. John has his generals (coordinators) but seems to have an issue understanding commanders purpose in the field.

Even with his rather pedestrian last 3 seasons, his overall track record is still rather impressive. I would not bet on John getting a head job in the NFL. He'll have to go back to college. John done nothing since Ed and Ray left but fire coaches and Kubiak proved the players were not the problem. The failed draft picks also signed part of John's fate. I don't see John going anywhere. The wheels would have to completely come off. Joe on the other hand is going to get beat up in more ways than one. Right or wrong. You do realize that your inability to be objective puts a lot of your comments in the irrational zone. You are so eager to hate everything the Ravens coaches and FO do, that you are unable to realistically view them the way that the rest of the league does. And of course there are guys on the other side of the objectivity spectrum too. They are the "purple koolaid" guys, but because you are sooo far on the other side of the spectrum, you label the people who make rational and objective comments as homers. Some of the things you say are just not based in any type of reality. Rex Ryan got a head coaching job right after the Jets let him go. And his time with the Jets was far less impressive than Johns. Andy Reed is in the same boat. John has made it to the playoffs a higher percentage of the time than Reed did in Philly. He has won a Superbowl, and has won the same amount of playoff games in 9 years, than Reed did in 14 years with the Eagles. And there are countless other examples of coaches having far less success than John, that have become a head coach for another team the season after they have gotten fired from another team. It is completely fair to talk about moving on from Jim and other guys in the FO if we dont have a good season. It is completely relevant and rational discussion to have. But to think that their wont be any teams that will be in line for JHs services as a head coach just isn't based in reality. But on top of that you are saying that he will have to go back down to the college level to get a job and thats crazy. They apply more to what your saying than to me. Its easy to critize what others are seeing what do you see? I seen Brian B embraced Rays influence and John fought it until the "mutiny ". I give you another prediction. The defense will play great the first three quarters again but because of the three and outs they break. The offensive line needs time to gel and Ravens are replacing two critical positions. It's not rocket science what going to take place. Kyle was Joe's best blocker amoung TE. He gone. I'm not going to get upset this year if we go 4 and 12 then load up with offensive players that will set the Ravens up for next 5 years. Face it Ravens have to get by New England and their not there yet. Pro foot ball picked the last three years Ravens fished. Im waiting on this year's prediction.

What all this talk about Boldin? Has any player ever left the team and come back to played? Just can't see that. John H is not that kind of guy.
