Two TDs and two two-point conversions + you have to stop Falcons from anymore points is still a tall order. But still doable for the Pats.
Even taller with how quickly the clock's been ticking away. The Falcons have been trying to make this game peter out quietly since their fourth TD and it's working.

Look at the clock, we're almost in the fourth quarter already. That's the point of playing prevent, making sure they stay in-bounds and letting the clock burn away.

Tell that to ASOIAF fans.
Those Falcons trying to lose the game with their prevent defence.

I got a bit worried the Falcons would implode like we kinda did after the power went out, but that stop and TD should get them comfortably back on track. If Brady leads a comeback here I think that'd legitimately make him the best QB ever.
Just now, A Fish Called Yanda said:Not sure why you'd want to leave this team to go to the dumpster fire that is the 49ers.
The Falcons could legitimately be talking dynasty if Shanahan had stuck around.
That's a huge stop for momentum for the Falcons. Their defence is coming up much bigger than I expected today. Hopefully they can get some points here and put this one away.

I think that'll be the big x-factor. Julio's a huge part of what they do and that's obviously not going to change, but the running game going forward is the big question (and whether they can replicate it without Shanahan). Like you say, you can't double Julio because they'll run down your throat, you can't stack the box because Julio will put 200 yards on you - and that makes them (much) better than the sum of their parts. There were some pretty terrible teams with Julio alone.
I'm off to watch my grass grow. Let me know if I miss anything in the half-time show.
Just now, PuRock said:There really isn't anything the Pats have done well. ST has been bad, Brady looks good at times but through a costly INT. Run game is non-existant. On D they can't really focus on stopping any one thing.
I think Brady looks pretty shook too. He's been bailed out after making some pretty errant throws (most of the calls were correct, but the actual passes were pretty off) and has Bennett of all people to thank for not throwing a second pick.
Just now, PuRock said:This is great. The Patriots look like bufoons.
But never count them out. It's a plus that Falcons get the ball at half.
Even if the Cheetahs manage to get moving and put some points up, they've still got to stop Julio, the running game and the other Falcons guys who can still make situational plays.

That pic is going to be one for the ages.

Be even better if they put up 50 and pitch a shutout on Brady. A legendary player for sure, but greatest ever my foot.

That's Houston QB-level savage.

I was typing that up as he brought the ball back.
Um, I mean, I had a feeling a pick-six was coming.
QuoteWhatever.
Rather lose like this than the last two times
That place is so deflated right now. Kinda fitting.
A Brady pick-six might be the one thing sweeter than a Brady sack. <3
Loving Atlanta's work against the run. Hopefully they keep that up all night.

His posts are the same during Seahawks games.

I also know you were like this when they played the Packers; probably the Seahawks, too
That's what I was about to mention.
Just now, BmoreBird22 said:Correct me if I'm wrong, but you CANNOT touch a player when jumping over to block a field goal, correct?
That's correct. When they blocked Tucker's FG attempt the guy managed to not touch a player, which was what made that particular play so outstanding.

That's one of the criticisms of Kyle Shanahan, that he often gets too pass-happy. Fumbling was the worst thing that could have happened to the Falcons because it burns less clock.
They need a good rebound drive here. Either take three minutes or so off the clock or score, ideally both.
