  1. Looks like the old record bid might get topped three times in this period alone. Suddenly KO isn't looking so expensive.
  2. If the forum mock is anything to go by I'd say they made the right call.
  3. And that's why you don't have more stars.
  4. Sounds like an Adam Schefter tweet.
  5. I'm actually not 100% convinced this would be a problem to the point of unworkability. If you take this OL period for example, people want to know how much space they have once the DB period rolls around, or edge players after that, and if you drag your feet over an OL player that also limits your ability to be active later on. Though as you say, a maximum number of bids would sort out any timewasters pretty quickly.
  6. Assuming this gets a couple of dry runs to iron out anything that needs to be adjusted (and there are people happy to monitor the system) I'd prefer to see this used. I think people wanting to have the cap space for future FA spells means not many people would screw around with bids so it wouldn't get drawn out beyond usability. But the main feature is that it rewards the highest bid instead of good micro-management.
  7. Would it be possible to implement this starting tomorrow (or whenever the next FA period is)? It's hardly a radical shake-up so it shouldn't mess with anyone's plans, and it means the pre-five leader can still throw a whacking great bid on a player since they've got the bid-off rights guaranteed.
  8. You were telling me about that system last year and honestly I think it sounds a lot better. It's more about letting players actually go to the highest bidder (which is obviously the point of FA) than a high-stakes game of quick reflexes.
  9. The idea is they'd only be expanded if Player B has the bidding rights at both ends of the final five so you'd still only have the two (three including the previous owner). Your idea sounds simpler though. More in line with the purpose of the final five too.
  10. Welcome to Jerryworld.
  11. That's not a bad idea either. My idea was essentially if Player A puts 10 stars on Bismo Funyuns and Player B puts 10.5 stars on him seconds before the final five (thus getting the rights) and ends the final five with the highest bid then the bid-off rights can be expanded to include Player A (instead of cutting out the process altogether).
  12. I proposed a tweak a couple of years ago where there was always the chance for a bid-off (essentially letting someone else join the bid-off if only one person had the rights), but I don't think that went anywhere.
  13. You're not wrong.
  14. Beer fridge appropriately stocked up I hope.
  15. 22.5 to be precise.
  16. Invalid. Here's the leading bid. This really isn't difficult.
  17. That trade was an absolute blockbuster.
  18. It's the cap hit on the player's Spotrac page minus the dead cap. 1 star is $1 million, so if you cut Hingle McCingleberry with a $10 million cap hit and $2 million dead cap, you'd save 8 stars.
  19. There's a group of cells starting at V27 for players lost in trades, if that helps. If you lose a pick in a trade you just wipe it from your list of draft selections and adjust your total players accordingly.
  20. Confirmed.
  21. Did you send in your email address? You have to be given permission to edit the document.
  22. Me trying to follow the FA bidding
  23. Cowboys give Pick 6.27 Bears give DT Will Sutton (-1 star Bears, +0.5 stars Cowboys) WR Rueben Randle (not sure what the story is here but I'm guessing it's 0.5 stars either way) @allblackraven
