  1. I think what we need is a clear WR2 and/or a clear slot receiver. Marlon Brown can improve at either role if he has to imo, and Aaron Mellette looked good enough in the preseason to play a possession guy if we need it (wouldn't be opposed to having him in the slot tbh). But Marlon gives us a lot of flexibility as to what kind of guy we can take. Most importantly we need someone who can run short and intermediate routes, and has reliable hands. The short passing game is a huge link in the chain missing from our system as that allows us to attack more of the field vertically, forces a defence to spread out and really opens up the deep threat (I also think it would help the running game if we had that credible threat, though not solve everything by any stretch). Jacoby was good as that guy for us, but I fear he'll be a cap casualty. If we replace him I'd rather see a guy who can run better routes and has more reliable hands. Being able to go up and the ball's another big component, and I think that inclines me towards a bigger receiver who can also run a few nice routes. Finally, I think we need another deep threat more than the coaches are letting on. Don't get me wrong here, I love the idea of bringing our passing game closer to the LoS and think we should. But the deep ball is our big weapon, and if we let Jacoby walk then we'd only have Torrey for that role (and Deonte Thompson, who needs a bit more work). I'd rather have a second guy who can blow the top off a defence among other things, as any deep safety could just focus on Torrey otherwise. I don't think we have a crippling need for a Welker-like slot guy, as long as whoever we bring in can provide Joe with a quick release valve if he needs it. Wouldn't complain at all about a pure slot guy though. In the draft I really like Marqise Lee and Odell Beckham Jr as I think they're the best fit for all three categories. There isn't really anyone who stands out to me in a big way in FA imo.
  2. Really nice to see a non-SEC team win.
  3. How many false starts has Florida St had today?
  4. Benjamin with the EZ play. Come on Ozzie.
  5. That delay didn't help his case.
  6. Big 10 iirc.
  7. Terrible call on my part.
  8. Benjamin could be a big part of this drive if Florida St wants the win.
  9. Bowl season's a nice filler at least.
  10. Hard. Let's talk about how dismal the defence was on that last TD.
  11. Dunno if the Florida St defence can hold Auburn here though. They looked gassed before and didn't get any rest.
  12. I was hoping Benjamin could light it up today, but that's really not looking likely.
  13. Dunno if it's a college thing, but I think it's weird how if you win the toss and defer, you can also pick direction.
  14. Kelvin Benjamin with a nice catch.
  15. I wonder how indicative that Auburn coach's interview was of their second half strategy. "We're going to wear them down." Sounds like they could be going conservative, which sounds a bit early for that kind of thing to me.
  16. Winston having a shocker. He could well be rattled.
  17. I don't really follow college football except in passing, but even I'm going to find the hype of the SEC unbearable at this rate.
  18. *pick up in UDFA
  19. If the Browns don't reach for him in the second, can we draft that Auburn punter?
  20. I'm less worried about who wins than I am hoping hoping Kelvin Benjamin has a blinder and his draft stock never looks back.
  21. Huge call. Probably the right one though. Either way, that's pretty much the game. OU needs one more first down.
  22. What would Alabama do to have three more points atm?
  23. Like to think of it like that or have to think of it?
  24. 6 sacks tonight. Probably the best look at what we'll see of AJ McCarron in the pros that we're likely to see. The line disintegrating and can't rely on the running game to move the chains every time.
