  1. I've actually turned off several games this season because of the ad breaks. I don't do it for Ravens games (though I've missed big chunks because I've tuned out during the ad breaks and just haven't bothered tuning back in) and the games being terribad is just as much a factor, but as others said the sequence of TD-break-kickoff-break-three and out-break gets pretty stale for me - especially when half the adverts are so bad that I take out my headphones when they start up (several involving a certain former QB) and the same ads get played for literally months at a time. Honestly it's left me feeling kinda disillusioned about the NFL this season, to the point where I haven't even followed the draft stuff this year simply because it's not as fun for me as it was.
  2. And we'd still only rush six times a game.
  3. Not to mention current LG Quenton Nelson and LT Mike McGlinchey. They've been quietly building an OL factory these past few years and it's only a matter of time before everyone notices. I was hoping we'd be able to nab Mike Tice, who's clearly been pretty handy for Oakland but is off contract, but I hadn't thought of Hiestand and I'd be pretty stoked with him too. Then as you say, if in doubt you can't go wrong with some Big 10 OL coach.
  4. I wonder if Belicheat had similar thoughts a few years ago. Said post-2004 Super Bowl win also came when they managed to rebuild a top defensive unit (just like the first three). Swap him and Peyton Manning and you probably swap postseason records too (ie, Brady going one and done an awful lot if he were on those Colts sides).
  5. I think we're a Middlesborough win away from relegation being between the current bottom four (Hull, Swansea, Sunderland and Palace). That Boro defence will keep grafting out points for the rest of the season even when their form isn't good. Hull are cooked. With their thin squad they're more likely to fade down the stretch. I'd like to see Swansea survive but I don't know if they have the quality. Finding unlikely ways to keep teams away from relegation is Allardyce's specialty so I think Palace might eke it out. This is the year Sunderland's luck runs out, though who knows if they can get 18 points from the last eight games as they always seem to do.
  6. Congrats in advance for getting to your 9th Super Bowl in 10 years or whatever figure that's up to now. Tbh though, I think the conference title was yours to lose when Carr went down. I can't see any way the Steelers win next week and I can't see any way the Chiefs would have won had they eked it out here.
  7. Well aware.
  8. I think you and I might have different definitions of "legendary". You can definitely see that with Harbaugh the student has learned well from the master though.
  9. Eh that's about right. The postseason has been one gigantic disappointment so far so why stop here.
  10. You guys seem to have their number in a bigger way than we do. I just hope it's the earlier game next week so I can sleep in.
  11. Now here's a guy who's a patient runner....
  12. I suspect the AFCCG will be just as dire. So that's two good playoff games out of 10 (assuming the NFCCG is good) before we even think about the Pro Bowl. No wonder ratings are down.
  13. As crazy as it sounds after the statistical years they've respectively had, I think they're both in a similar (and very fluid) tier where a lot depends on their supporting group and the systems they have in place in any given year. And you can probably put anywhere up to 12 other QBs in that same group, where they're all capable of having great seasons and winning a Super Bowl in any given year if a few things line up for them.
  14. Thankfully one of those worse scenarios got taken out of play a few hours ago. Honestly I wouldn't be that bothered if a Falcons SB win sparks another Flacco-Ryan debate. For his flaws Joe's a good QB and Matt Ryan's phenomenal season deserves recognition but doesn't take anything away from Joe.
  15. I'm actually not among them, but you won't have any problems finding people who hate the "bend but don't break" philosophy around here.
  16. Judging by the first quarter of the earlier game I didn't have a good feeling about Dallas. Hopefully KC can adjust just as well.
  17. Couldn't happen to a more deserving fanbase. But yeah, I feel for the players in a game like that.
  18. Hell of a finish!
  19. Who else wasn't a fan of Ty Montgomery coming out of college? *sticks hand up*
  20. We'll just call him the best kicker to not wear purple.
  21. Second best kicker in the league.
  22. Hail May time.
  23. Yeah, getting called for PI if you've got safety help is a pretty amateur play from the DB. That's who Cowboys fans should be pissed off at if they lose here.
  24. Massive penalty from Dallas. GB can just run down the clock and slot the winning FG.
  25. Also correct. Zeke could only make so much impact when he's given five rushes a game.
