A smart move considering that Jernigan played slightly over 50% of the snaps in the last seven games. He disappeared a LOT. At best we would have received a Comp pick in the 3rd round/area of 99th overall. We just moved up 25 spots for a player we would not/could not resign. I'll roll the dice on having 4 out of the top 78 picks.
You gotta love the NFL more and more every day (sarc); when you finally get a decent pick that progresses- you most of the time lose him. Well fans- keep on buying the jerseys (not). Keep overpaying a mediocre QB while more importantly- raising ticket prices. Yeah, the NFL gets better every day. The next thing you know, we'll be heading to London
Baltimore has an Arena Football League Team now. You may want to look into that. Royal Farms Arena seems like it would be a great place to watch a game.
imo Carl Davis, Willie Henry, Brent Urban and Bronson Kaufusi are all rotational guys at best none are starting caliber Michael Pierce is a solid DL but without a dominate DL we will get pushed around we will regret this trade in October
Jernigan all but disappeared the last half of the season. I think there may be more to this other then they felt they could not resign him.
I guess we should know who the preseason opponents are going to be in the next week or so. That usually is announced a couple of weeks before the regular season schedule. Road trip to Tennessee will be a great weekend.
Ross...."So Flacco can unleash his cannon arm". I thought that's what the plan was for Perriman, you know, the should have been 4th rounder we took with our #1 pick.
How about we just leave after the week two home game on a flight and get there six days early to get acclimated?
If I were a player, this would be incredible news. As a fan, I'm thinking that they better not lose this London game now.
This is one of the two road wins I have them penciled in for. Now I'm not so sure.
Let's travel the Atlantic during hurricane season. Good idea. This has to be an April Fools skit.
Winning another Super Bowl??? How about making the playoffs again first? Last season, with no notable holes in any position, and as few impact injuries as seldom in the history of the NFL, the Bengals flopping and the Browns - well, being the Browns... and with a not really a killer schedule we still managed to miss the playoffs...
"As few impact injuries as seldom in the history of the NFL"? I'm not quite sure what that statement means, but during the 4 game losing streak, we had something like 5 pro bowlers out plus our starting left tackle. When the offense finally got healthy and started playing better, the one guy we can't afford to lose on defense gets hurt.
And it's not like we've been so far off from the playoffs recently. We were a few inches from being in 1st last year with a game left, and I think the last game would have gone differently if it meant something. In 2013, we were in a playoff spot before Flacco hurt his knee, and missed it by one game. 2015, when we had half the starters on ir, is the only time in the last 9 years we weren't competitive. We have the 2nd most playoff wins since then. I really don't think the Ravens are a team that needs to show that they can make the playoffs before being considered SB contenders. They've already shown they can make the playoffs and win there.
The Ravens were nowhere near a playoff spot when Flacco got hurt in 2015. The game he got injured was against the Rams. Tuckers game winner put the Ravens at 3-7.
Guys, can you PLEASE stop this nonsense speculation about Boldin coming back to Baltimore? There's no way I'm buying that, especially considering Harbaugh and the Ravens basically kicked him off the team right after he played a huge role in getting the team it's second Lombardi Trophy. And seriously- if Torrey, a local product and fan favorite, passed on a return to go to Philly instead, what makes anyone think Boldin would come back OR Harbaugh would reach out to him? Not buying it for a second.
Philly offered Torrey more money then the Ravens did. 5 Mill a year for a very average receiver. The Lions paid Boldin 2 Mill last year. He "only" had 67 catches, 8 TD's, and don't forget about him being a great blocker.
IMO Waller will become the #1 receiver on the team and a star in the NFL. He and Perriman may become the top receiver tandem in the league. As long as the Ravens get 1 or 2 more top level OL this will be their year.
Waller had 10 catches last year and is now a TE. If you are correct about him becoming the #1 Receiver on the Ravens and a Star in the NFL I'll be the first to give you props. I would say one of the tougher battles he will face is making the team this year.
As a #1 Pick you HAVE to be a Difference Maker.
Since Boldin left four years ago. 322 receptions, 25 TD's, 206 "move those chains" first downs, not to mention all the great down field blocking, attitude, and toughness. Can never have enough WINNERS on your team. "Q" in 2017.
Joe should have 3 Super Bowls! But noooooooooooooooooo he tried to get a pass off before Troy Polomalu strip the ball out his hand costing us a trip against the Cardinals and a very very very bad pass against the pats costing us another Super Bowl against the Seahawks because Justin had a monster day and throwing to the endzone and maybe depending on your banged up secondary to stop Brady would have been pointless! I thought Joe could get 5 rings with us but he disappointed me big time! Ozzie and Co. are working their tails off keeping good players on this team year after year but it all falls on the QB! And throwing the O line under the bus is getting old! Smh multiple Super Bowls we should have FOUR! Bring facts to the table if you think different!
I see no mention of the pass Lee Evans didn't hold on to in the end zone in the AFC Title Game against the Pats. Right on the money. Dropped. Cundiff misses the FG. Every team has plays for the example you gave. "IF" Russell Wilson doesn't throw and interception the Seahawks win the Super Bowl. "IF" Eli doesn't escape out of the pocket and "IF" David Tyree doesn't make a great catch the Pats win the Super Bowl. That's only two "IF" facts but I could go on and on.....
Key Offseason Losses Lewis and Wright?
Simple answer to a difficult problem to solve: explosive players with a killer instinct and edgy attitude. You can't teach either. We simply don't have enough of them on our team.
How about we start with bringing "Q" back. His edgy attitude would be great to have back, not to mention the 65 catches, Red Zone presence, and great blocker.
If he doesn't win the starting job as a #2 pick he becomes Arthur Brown Act Two.
The team hasn't been the same since Q left. That may due to several other factors, but I'd love to see him come back. He and Flacco had a good chemistry.
Agree. Can never have enough proven winners on your team. If he would come here for the same money Detroit got him for last season that would be a big win. A proven Red Zone presence. Toughness and attitude. A very good blocker. BRING BACK "Q" !
If Pierce wore #99 we wouldn't miss a beat. Basically the same player. If somebody is stupid enough to give you a #3 pick in this years deep draft pool I'd take it.
WR or Edge Rusher. Thank You.
I heard that Timmy Jernigan is on the trading block. Or thinking about trading him since they can't afford him next year. http://www.baltimorebeatdown.com/2017/3/24/15050162/michael-lombardi-says-the-ravens-are-talking-about-trading-timmy-jernigan-nfl-draft-brandon-williams
Jernigan is a good player who has made good plays. Translated, the kind of player who will get way over paid by another team in the FA Market. If a team is dumb enough to offer us a #2 pick you have to take it.
Putting Brady and Pathetic Joe in the same sentence, is absolute insanity.
Let's be honest, and I'm a Fan of Joe. There is Brady, then there is everybody else.
Draft him and sign Boldin for what the Lions gave him last year. 2 mill for 67 catches, 8 TD's, a Red Zone presence, and a great downfield blocker. PROVEN WINNER.
Life in the NFL today. Whatever team pays me the most I'm leaving. Simple formula. Juice was way over paid but good for him. When he is released by the Niners as a cap casualty two years from now and 7 total wins later at least he was able to grab some extra cash.

Jernigan 16 solo tackles 15 assisted tackles. Pierce 19 solo tackles 16 assisted tackles. Let another team over pay TJ in the FA Market.
