First off lets search for the rule book so the players AND coaches know the rules. Why would we challenge the play when Andy Daulton dove head first for a first down? Jimmy Smith motioned to Harbaugh to throw the challenge flag because Daulton's knee touched on the 29 yard line. Harbaugh reacts and throws the flag. Only problem is that when a QB goes head first instead of sliding he is marked down where a defensive player touches him. When a QB slides he is marked at where he starts the sliding motion. If we learn the rules it waill save us a challenge and a timeout in the future.
Something that seemed to go unnoticed in this whole mess is that the players AND coaches don't know the rules. The Ravens challenged a call when Andy Daulton dove for a first down and Jimmy Smith was motioning for Harbs to throw the challenge flag because Daulton's knee hit the ground. When a QB slides they mark the spot where the slide begins. When the QB dives head first they are considered a runner and are marked where an opposing player makes contact with them. Store this in your memory bank for later so we don't waste a challenge....and lose a timeout.
This is why you don't get all fired up about OTA's and Training Camp. The stories about how this group of receivers were the deepest the Ravens have ever had was laughable. Any receiver wearing shorts and a jersey can catch a ball. On the defensive side of the ball, the Ravens just may have the worst D in the league.
Thought #1. This is why you never get cranked up and excited about OTA's and Training Camp. The stories about how this was the deepest wide receiver core the Ravens ever had was laughable. Every receiver in an NFL camp can catch balls in shorts and a jersey. Thought #2. This D could possibly be the worst in the NFL.
Didn't Hill eventually fumble the ball back over to the Raiders anyway at the 30?
What kind of clueless player even starts running with the ball at that point?
Nagta was not willing to restructure. Granted, he still may have a year or two left but not with a cap hit of 16 million. Difficult hit for most teams to swallow that kind of contract. Lions 0-2
History shows when a team starts out 1-3 or 0-4 they usually get a top 10 draft pick.
That's why you never get fired up about camp and "How Great" everybody looks. Every player can throw, run, and catch with shorts and a jersey.
SSS is an average player? 1,000 receiving yards AGAIN last season on top of an already GREAT career. Learn the game just a little instead of looking like a little fool.
Taking nothing away from the Ravens D but Peyton looks VERY OLD. Come late October/early November he should still be able to "Fling It" a good 5 to 7 yards.
