  1. What a load of hogwash. First, restructuring does not necessarily mean a player gets paid less. Converting base salary into bonus money pays the player the exact amount as before, just now some of that money is guaranteed. It's always risky for a team, but it's a common tool to lower a player's cap hit. Secondly, plenty of QBs have done it. Brady and Big Ben have both done it at least 2 times in the past 5 years if I remember correctly. If Joe's wife made 40 mill a year like Gizele was maybe he would look at restructuring like Brady.
  2. Well, you would expect a rookie to drop more passes than a 5th year player. The difference between the two is about 2-4 yards/catch. So basically, Perriman can do more damage (and did last season) with less receptions. That's called being efficient. I think you mean effective. Perriman is more effective than efficient Either way his draft reports said he drop a high rate of passes in college and now its starting to show its ugly head in NFL. John H not going to be able to cope with that this year. Jobs are on the line. No actually he's more efficient also. Getting more yards/catch is being efficient as well. John's job may be on the line, but Perriman's isn't, and John doesn't have a choice but to cope with the growing pains of a 2nd year WR. Boldin is effective and efficient. Sign him in July.
  3. LOL nice try. Aiken was the 5th target, and he's been in the league 5 years, and he's getting outplayed by a rookie... to the tune of almost 4 yards/catch. That's how you end up with 170 yards less... with just four less catches. Yikes... that's bad. And that's why he signs a one year deal in FA in a bad WR market. You're gonna have to come up with something better than catches bud. This ain't a PPR fantasy league. I know. That's why the Ravens need to sigh Boldin......In July
  4. ........based on Luck winning SO MANY playoff games and his Super Bowl performance? Oh, that's right, no real history there.
  5. You will be having a different attitude about him after this year, give the kid some credit. He was injured his entire rookie year because our team was to stubborn to do his surgery earlier and when he was finally healthy last year and gaining confidence he showed he could be great WR for us. This year will be his breakout season with over 1000 yards and 10 TDs. He is the reason why we wont be drafting a WR in the 1st or 2nd round and be able to draft other needs instead. I'd like to change my opinion of him but I would not say from what I saw last season that he showed he will become a great WR for us. We still need WR's.
  6. It its Corey Davis then yes it is worth it. Have you watched him give tutorials to defenders? Good choice considering we only have one legit NFL WR on the roster in Mike Wallace. I could accept Perriman's mediocrity if he was a 4th or 5th round pick. Unacceptable for a #1 pick.
  7. ......and Perriman needs to add to his 33 catches.
  8. 29 catches for a 4th target WR. 33 catches for our #1 Pick. Hmmmmmmm
  9. Aiken or Boldin would work if you can get them to come back for small money. It will be interesting to see what Aiken will get. Boldin on the other hand will likely sign with a team that will offer him the same deal the Lions did last year. One year 2 million.
  10. Putting the back and forth aside, would you be ok with signing Boldin for a one year deal like Detroit got him for last year? 2 mill is small money.
  11. Keep letting those box scores tell lies to you... I guess you can't wait for Chris Moore to "Light It Up". So you admit Boldin is at Chris Moore's level? I mean you referenced Moore instead of Perriman or Wallace or Pitta. Sounds like an admission to me. Translated.....We need receivers. Guess you didn't get the humor with the Moore reference.
  12. Wow. Thank You. At least I know now that he won't be signing anywhere until July.
  13. I guess you can't wait for Chris Moore to "Light It Up".
  14. Hope we told Boldin that we'd like to have him back this season. Would love to have his toughness and attitude back.......not to mention the 65 catches, great blocking, and 6 TD's.
  15. I would like a Receiver but lack confidence based on our history. I could live with Perriman being the mediocre WR that he is if he was taken in the 4th or 5th round but can't accept it as a #1. Tanden Doss (Boldin's replacement(OUCH)), Millete, David Reed, Butler, and the hits just keep on coming.
  16. Agree. Shutting down the forums is a mistake.
  17. I thought we were finally giving Joe a true blue number one WR when we picked Perriman with our #1 pick in the 2015 Draft. I could accept his mediocrity if he was picked in the 4th or 5th round. I agree with you on Judon as he can become a player. Big concerns about Correa. Getting Jefferson, Woodhead, Carr, and retaining Williams all solid moves.
  18. Flacco best passing year.....just needing a first down or two did Flacco blow it? We had the lead in how many games in the 4th only to have our DEFENSE blow it. I'm confused. Be happy we are improving things with good signings.
  19. Tyrod Taylor is a middling starter. Tom Brady is overrated. Greg Hardy isnt in the league anymore because he has trouble keeping his hands to himself. Pierre Garcon is a career sidekick receiver. There's not that much value in the 6th. thats why its the 6th. Tom Brady is over rated? That is the most idiotic statement that has ever been posted on any NFL team site. You should have stopped at the Tyrod comment.
  20. the browns have been just as bad when it comes to qb's Don't care about the Browns as they will always be 5 years away from being 5 years away. WE need to do a better job at selecting WR's. I'd be ok with Perriman being mediocre if he was drafted in the 4th or 5th round. Can't accept mediocrity from a #1 pick.
  21. 1. Not necessarily, and we have so many other needs. It would work better if we could trade one of our existing TE's, maybe for an OL guy. 3. Gilmore is pretty darn good with the ball in his hands. 5. I agree. If we have a chain moving TE, do we need a chain moving WR? i was actually talking with a buddy of mine about the possibility of the front office trading one of the te's for a pick or o-lineman I don't see any of our TEs having trade value. True. If we traded a TE we would receive a 7th round pick(maybe)
  22. AGREE! Great blocker. Makes great contested catches. Would be the best red zone target we have. If he would come here for the same deal he signed for last year all he could do is help. He "Only" had 67 catches and 8 TD's (See Red Zone Comment)
  23. We learned that we had to sign Flacco after the Super Bowl.
  24. I don't have to move them. You are Billy Cundiff over and over again. To say Ray Lewis is not a winner and the worthless incorrect points you "Tried" to make is laughable.
  25. Sounds like a weaker version of Dennis Pitta, who we just asked to take a paycut. I rest my case. 2 million and a slot receiver. Obviously a different type of player. Low money for a PROVEN WINNER. Pitta essentially is a slot receiver. What position did you think he played? In fact, they're not different types of players at all. They were both extremely inefficient catching the football last season. They were essentially the same player, with one having more volume. And no, I don't care about the # of TDs either caught, because that's a proven unsustainable metric with large fluctuations on an annual basis. Individual football players aren't proven winners, especially at the WR position. He, like every other player on the field, is completely and utterly dependent on other players on the team to make him a winner. Individual Players aren't proven winners? I get that it's a team game but I believe Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Rodgers, Brady, and a long list of players would fall into the category of proven winners.
