  1. Wow, rough break. I know it happens, but hope he recovers well and is back at it next year.
  2. Interesting point. So you're basically saying we're drafting "old Ravens" type players and trying to fit them into "new Ravens" scheme. Square peg, round hole thing. 🤔
  3. Ya think? Not trying to be argumentative, but DO we really have the talent or are we just assuming it's there and not being used or developed right? Maybe we have average talent that won't be better than average regardless of coaching. I think we DO have some young talent (BP, Young, Dixon, Lewis, and a few others), but I can't help but wonder if we just assume others are talented because, well - in Ozzie we trust, right? I'm trying to think of players we "developed," then lost or let go, that went on to be really special somewhere else with "better coaching" and no one is coming to mind. I'm not saying I disagree with your statement, just considering another perspective.
  4. Agreed. I suppose we don't know for sure that we didn't make any inquires, but if we did, clearly they weren't serious inquiries.
  5. Exactly. I can't tell you how tired I am of seeing other teams execute in these situation yet we rarely do. Which to me is not just a player issue, but a coaching issue. Players need to execute better, but why are we continually calling plays that we have seen time and time again, our players can't execute. Either coach better, draft better, or play-call better but what we've been doing doesn't work.
  6. I read your post where you broke it down, and you were right - not much else we could do there. You're also right about running the ball not getting us out of a hole - but sadly, neither does passing 3 yards when we need 8. The frustration is that we can't seem to find anything that works, other than occasionally no-huddle (until Joe is intercepted in the endzone).
  7. I get keeping MM, but agree with other posts that if things don't turn around in 2017, we're cleaning house. As I see it, MM is a side effect of a bigger mistake - hiring Trestman in the first place. No Trestman, probably no MM. We make a different hire last year and we're talking about beating the Dolphins next week instead of worrying about next year. Ahh, good ol' hindsight...
  8. What an honor to have him in a Ravens uniform, just wish we could have had him for longer. The man is a Raven, whether he retires as one or not. He was an inspiration to watch - not just because he fired up the rest of the team but because he proved that if you have the heart, you can be a difference maker. Not just in football, but in life. We need more people like him in the world. And with any luck, more like him on our team going forward. I wish him him and his family all the blessings and happiness life has to offer. Eat the gallon and have fun in Disneyworld in September! One more thing - I don't know what the "rules" are for being in the ring of honor but imo, he definitely deserves to be up there even though he was only here a few years.
  9. I tweeted, but to get it trending, is it better to retweet or like other #firetrestman tweets? Sorry, not much of a twitter user.
  10. Lol, yeah - me too. The only jersey I have left for someone who's NOT either gone or on IR is Tucker. Keeping it in the closet for the rest of the season.
  11. Taking the kids to their first Ravens game vs Jags. Working on getting a parking pass, but have what may seem like a dumb question...Are all the stadium lots under cover? If not, can someone tell me which ones are and are not? Since we're gonna have the kids, just want to make sure we're under cover for tailgating in case the weather is bad. Thanks!
  12. Thanks. So does that mean hot tailgating is allowed in all the stadium lots? I know it is in G & H, but how about the others?
  13. I pretty much agree with your whole post, but ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ +1000. SSS may have only been a Raven for a couple years but he's been playing like a Raven his entire career - just in the wrong city. The man is a beast and even if we can replace his production on the field, we'll be hard pressed to find anyone with his heart. Geez, the man puked in a can and then took IV fluids on the field so he could get back in sooner - who DOES that? The man deserves better from his team mates.
  14. "With Gradkowski gone, the Ravens are down to 13 players from their 2012 Super Bowl team (53-man roster): QB Joe Flacco, G Kelechi Osemele, G Marshal Yanda, LB Terrell Suggs, LB Courtney Upshaw, LB Albert McClellan, DT DeAngelo Tyson, P Sam Koch, K Justin Tucker, CB Jimmy Smith, TE Dennis Pitta, LS Morgan Cox and CB Asa Jackson." Wow...13.
  15. Seems like a lot of money for a guy we hope never plays, but the Kubiak experience IS worth something - leaving it to Oz to decide how much. I do wonder if Joe's 2016 cap hit was a consideration? Meaning, God forbid, he won't restructure and we lose him, we could more easily resign Shaub as a stop gap or someone as to teach a new QB the system? I dunno, as I type this, it sounds crazier than it did in my head, but who knows.
  16. I was wondering the same thing... The only thing I feel 100% sure of is that the FO wouldn't have hired him if they didn't believe his philosophies and methods would mesh with the Ravens identity.
  17. Torrey, Daryl, and now Steve...we're gonna need first initials on jerseys again! Not that I'm complaining! Welcome to Baltimore!
