Like in the Dolphin game, 4th quarter, they will have to use Urban and Guy and Suggs to knock the ball down at the line of scrimmage or at least change Brady's trajectory on those quick throws. Â If they know they can't get to Brady for a sack or pressure, they need to elevate with their arms up to tip the ball to help out the back end. Â That will crush their confidence if we can deflect some throws from the line of scrimmage. Â Calling on Zadarius Smith, Matt Judon, and Pierce to get some pressure on Brady because Doom and Suggs will be going hard and will need a blow throughout the game. Â We can't have any fall off in QB pressure when they have to take a knee.
We can do this RAVENS.....
If anyone can be cut/released to make room for Waller, I think it will be Kendrick Lewis. Levine can take up whatever slack we would miss from 86'ing Lewis at safety or hybrid LB'er, and Waller can handle the special teams play. If Joe can hit Waller in stride as opposed to throwing at his feet all the time, he can be lights out. Come on Trestman, let's light these west coast boys up. Sorry K.O.
Thought it was poor sportsmanship on Bortles part to run to the locker room the way he did. Â Flacco didn't have the greatest game as QB, but he was man enough to pay his respect to the home team players. Â Ramsey is three losing games into the season and he thinks it's all about him. Â Young and dumb, but he will learn.
Â
I've always wondered why Joe doesn't use a play sleeve, ever? Â Brady, Rogers, Rothlesberger, etc..., all use it and I can't recall whether any of the Ravens beat reporters or staff journalist have ever inquired. Â Since it was Joe that had to push Trestman into taking deeper shots down field, why not let Joe call the opening plays of each game in order to get into his own rhythm and get the offense off to a faster start. Â Obviously, so far, Trestman's plays are stagnating Joe and the offense, so why not trust the QB that fought like hell to get back healthy from a serious knee injury to start the season on time, call his plays and get his playmakers in the game. Â I seriously need to see Joe target Kamar on some slants and sideline back shoulder routes, after his performance last season Joe has to trust he will come through. Â He's given Matthews more looks than Kamar. Â
Let's go Ravens, I'm putting on my homer hat and calling a 7 - 0 record going into the bye week.
Don't let me down.
I'm most disappointed in the NFL not having camera's that can pick up the back of the end zone. Â Had it been a Raven catch under the same circumstance, I bet they would have found a way to dispute it. Â Also, on their worst angle of the replay you could see the white turf kick up as he planted the second foot down, their end zone was that funky brown color. Â I thought the taunting call was appropriate, considering had he drop the ball, gave it to the ref, ran with it to his sideline he would have been golden. Â But, to toss it back at the player who forced him out of bounds, I think is legit. Â Not only that, it was an off-setting penalty and the Browns didn't lose any yards they basically got a do over and failed to execute. Â Game over!
Seems like our defense took a couple pokes in the eye last night, but aside from that they came out without injuries --- Thank God!
I liked the intensity and level of effort from both West and Dixon on the offense and the young front seven played a nice aggressive
game. Â Not impressed with Pees still doing that bend but don't break crap. Â Want to see them get on the same page as the motor KC and the other
LB'er in the 2nd half showed.  Hadn't heard squat throughout OTA's, or camp about Henry, but he showed his potential last night.  I like Waller, just hate that
every time they throw to him it seems to be low instead of over the top where his height advantage is being wasted. Â All in all, it's a good
start and plenty of film on bubble players/depth to determine who the players are you want to count on when the starters get off the PUP.
I think ]Joe will be fine, considering when he got rolled up on and that pain was acute, he still went out and played one or two more downs.
If he is confident in the procedure he had to repair the injury, all he has to do is think back when he got back under center despite the twoÂ
ligament injuries. Â Joe cool is also Joe tough.
The article says that the Ravens have not gone throw anything like this, but
the similarities to Torrey Smith's brother, who I believe died in a motorcycle
accident, is close. Â Granted, he was not a player but the impact to Torrey and
how Tray's passing is affecting the team seem the same. Â
All this does is delay his possibility of entering the Hall of Fame.  He will definitely, not be a first ballot HOF'er if he is even considered now.
I have to root for the Bengals, with Raven former coaches leading them (Lewis/Jackson). The steeler fans more so than the players are too obnoxious to have to deal with if they win.
Coach Brooks has to take care of his health, dealing with cancer treatments are no joke. So, I doubt he would be willing to leave and transition to a new team while dealing with that. Not excited about any of the playoff games, but I am leaning toward Bengals over the steelers simply because of Marvin Lewis getting that first round monkey off his back. Also, Hugh Jackson being their OC, a lot of Raven flavor heading teams in the NFL (Colts, Bengals, Browns, Detroit, Buffalo).
I'd go pass rusher/safety or corner/then WR. With the stable of TE's, and WR's we have the bones to build a nice squad. I liked Waller b 4 he was IR'd but I hated that Trestman only threw him quick screens behind the line of scrimmage. He should have been sent up field and slant routes to take advantage of his height and catch radius. As for our DB's, there were twice as many opportunities for interceptions that hit their hands and was dropped. Since we lost Terryl Austin to Detroit our DB/safeties have lost their fundamentals and attack mode. We could have been up around 16 - 18 int's for the season if they had held on to balls or simply followed the ball. A lot of the passing TD's against the defense were simply our guys not tracking the ball and making a play on it for turnovers vice trying to make a big hit or poke the ball out after the fact.
Gotta give props to Jeremy Butler. He was in my opinion more productive than Kamar and Dan Brown. He was Clausen's go to guy and he held up well. Brown and Butler were the only bright spots in an otherwise dull day for the Ravens.
Don't forget that Lorenzo Taliaferro is on IR as well.
Without Jernigan, I hope the Ravens play a solid enough run defense to keep their RB's under 100 yards rushing but loose enough that Peyton doesn't go Brady with a ton of short passes. Just let them think they have a chance running. Our corners play off the WR's too far to stop the short passes until they have 4 - 7 yards on the completion. I think the key to the game will be pressure on Peyton and turnovers. I'm calling out Z'Darius Smith and Carl Davis to be the key defenders to step up. On offense, Aiken, Campanaro and Brown has to be productive to compliment Triple S and Crockett Gilmore.
Come-on Ravens, shock the world and put this one in the "W" column.
I think we will keep Renner on the Practice squad to ultimately be Joe's backup QB for next season and beyond. I think he will improve enough over this season for the Ravens to feel comfortable with him as the #2 QB for next season. Good job keeping your composure after the pick. Shows a lot of moxy to stand tall and finish like that.
Well done!
The 2nd/3rd team defense will make the necessary corrections and with the Ravens scrimmaging the Eagles before their next pre-season game, I expect them to really come out of this knowing who the real depth players will be for the season. As Harbs always says, "Iron sharpens Iron"!
As for the grammatical issues with his poster, this did take place in Cleveland!!! But over all very funny considering the venue "a debate".
Oh, can't forget Breshard too!
I wonder what are the college stats comparison from Campanaro and DeAndre Carter. With Camp's health and fitness a question and Carter's kick return experience it would be interesting to see if losing Camp would hurt at all. I'm liking Carter with the "Bigs" (Marlon/Kamar/Jeremy/Darren) and of course Triple S.
Overall Defense is going to be sick. What can an offense do against Brandon (Big Punisher) crashing the middle with Timmie (bring the Pain) Jernigan and Carl (Don't Diss Me) Davis eating up runners. Doom and Sizzle terrorizing the QB and Courtney (somebodies gonna pay me) Upshaw doing his JJ thing. Darryl (Pops) Smith and CJ (Baby GOAT) Moseley filling the gaps, while Jimmy (lockdown) Smith is vacationing on his islands, Will (The Thrill) Hill and Kendrick (Reed Who) Lewis covering and crashing plays in the deep/middle, and last but not least "Spider" Webb back to form staying close enough the QB's won't even try it. With the other depth players Arrington/Asa/Zardarius/KLM/Tyson/Guy/Urban/and hopefully Elam getting back to form, we stand the chance to challenge the Superbowl 35 team for defensive stats. If both Pees and Trestman stay aggressive in their respective calls, we should light it up on both sides of the ball.
Let's go gentlemen. Use that extra time on the west coast at the start of the season to secure Superbowl reservations for us to party at the end of the season.
Can you say LOMBARDI?????
Our Defensive Line rotation will be phenomenal when they get down to the final 53 rotation. My sleeper of the group is Lawrence Guy. He played big for us in rotation and when we had players out during last season. 5 years experience qualifies him to be the experience replacement for Canty, with Urban filling in for the height/deflection capability that Canty never has manifested for us. I'm very anxious to see Harbaugh and Pees turn Carl Davis and Zardarius Smith loose on unsuspecting opponents. Insert Dr. Evil laugh. They won't know whats hitting them.
The proof is very evident in how the league restocks from our Raven franchise. At one point we were losing Defensive Coordinators to head coaching jobs every year. Now it has flipped to our Offensive Coordinators. We train and coach up quality players and the rest of the league just shovel money at our free agents to bring a little of our Ravens swag to their organization. Cary Williams to Philly, Pollard to Titans, Ihedigbo to Detroit, McPhee to the Bears, Ellerbe to Miami, Torrey to 49'ers, and Cleveland paying out the nose for Kruger. If Trestman can resist the lure of another team for at least another year, then Joe Flacco will definitely blow the doors off the league. This organization is like no other. Excellent article Mr. Byrne, keep it going.
I agree with #judent, until the cleveland sports writers concede and vote Art into the hall of fame for his contributions to "football" I hope they continue to suffer a drought.. Specially after that idiot cleveland fan whizzed on Modell's gravesite. The epitome of disrespect, considering all the philanthropic endowments to cleveland from the Modell's.

This is much better than releasing him. Â 6th round or not, moving up from 16th to 4th pick in that round bodes well for the Ravens. Â Ozzie's late round picks are usually better than most teams. Â I've always liked Jensen, big Red won't be caved into Flacco the way Zuttah has been of late. Â He is always grinding and putting him at center can help us create that mauling type offensive line we need to re-invigorate our running game and keep the rush off Joe to find his targets down field. Â Good move Ozzie!
