i wouldnt draft this guy until the 3rd if he is still available. seems like another tavaris gooden. lets pkg picks to move up and grab the players that will put fans in the seats
Do you have a draft package in mind? I wouldn't mind moving up for playmakers.
Courtney Upshaw sighting!
They'll go Gaga over it.
Dunno, but I cannot help feeling that releasing Wallace - thus depriving Flacco of his prime target after Smith's gone, and replace him with an unproven guy would be just the way the Ravens seem to think an NFL offense should be built... Anything but consistency...
And these guys will be genuinely shocked when Flacco comes up with another face reddening season...
I like Torrey as a person but don't want him back as a receiver. We should either keep Wallace or get Marshall. But your point is a good one. Constant change at nearly every position does not help build continuity. Keeping Wallace would be preferred.

Well, he can't carry the team, but he could manage it, if asked to do so.
Pick up Kendall Wright in free agency, draft Corey Davis in the first, Christian McCaffrey in the 2nd (might have to move up 5 or 6 picks) and the Ravens will have a prolific offense for the next 5-10 years.
Add your defensive backs, o-lineman, lb's with the remainder of the picks.
Simple
No, draft high for the defense. Turn us into a number one defense and turn Joe into a game manager. That approach worked before!
We have two receivers that can fill that job description...Aiken and Camp.
i do not think aiken has felt the love from the ravens so he will most likely leave and go to new england where he will flourish and camps health unfortunately cannot be trusted. wouldnt mind seeing us go after kenny britt and than take another chance on a receiver in the mid rds. hopefully perriman and moore get it going. if maxx and boyle are ready to go than we can always put pitta in the slot.
Yes, we could put Pitta in the slot and he will set an NFL record for receptions from Joe. We have so many TE's with potential. I was going to say maybe Waller in the slot, but he's bigger than your prototype slot guy.
Will we draft Howard? Will Pitta be released? Don't get me wrong because I really admire Pitta for staging an uncharacteristic comeback, but he's not a player that is a game changer where he can break a few tackles and get us a TD in crunch time. He is a comfort zone for Joe not because he catches every ball (he's dropped some dollies), but because he's Joe's best friend. 87 catches and less than 600 yards? And his first TD late in the season? Blocking so-so? We need to do better than that! If only Maxx Williams can suddenly grow into who we thought we drafted all will be well.
Maxx set a lot of Raven rookie records for a TE. I think Gilmore is a play maker if we get him the ball more. Waller could be one too as far as tight ends go.
I agree the Ravens do NOT need a TE. DB, pass rush & Lineman(O&D)
Are trying to draft a coach?
Since Joe's footwork was universally recognized as atrocious and his stats were not good, maybe he would take it upon himself to do as Matt Ryan did and seek some professional training in the off season. That would help Joe. And the bonus is we can focus our FA and draft on defense.
We lost too many key players after the SB win - retirement, FA, whatever. I think it was 8 or 9 starters. That's hard to overcome. Yes, some were getting older, but they had experience, knowledge and leadership. I think if we had not missed on some #1 draft picks, we would still be competitive, which would be quite an achievement.
Whatever they say they will or might do will be the complete opposite on draft day...proven science
If the Best Player Available at #16 is a TE, do we take him. This is a test....
If it is OJ Howard I think Ozzie would have the pick in under 30 seconds.
Well, Ozzie was a TE, so he would know. But that would give us a few TE's for trade bait.
February, March, and almost all of April...
That nearly 3-month void of nothing after the Super Bowl just sucks. Why doesn't the NFL add 2 games to the schedule, extend the season one more month and give each team an additional bye? Make these guys work a little harder for their pay.
It's a hard time of year: cold, no holidays, no football, taxes. Wish i liked basketball, but i don't.
Whatever they say they will or might do will be the complete opposite on draft day...proven science

I say in FA stop worrying about a 4th or 5th round comp pick That usually doesn't make the team anyway and go out get a playmaker on Off or Def and stop always getting and overpaying for older players you can only draft so many good players a year and when you have a lot holes to fill this will help
I've been saying for years we need to stop focusing on quantity of picks and focus on quality of picks. Unfortunately, we have so many holes now that we need both. Missing ILB, DB, rusher and (if Williams goes) DL. We need OL, WR and fire on the offense.
Good move. Pro Bowl is a waste.
Julio Jones... Can't help remembering the YUUUUGE pack of picks the Falcons gave up to trade up and snatch Julio Jones. And the chances Ozzie will ever even consider such a trade... Never.
I'm not saying he's wrong - it was a huge risk of the Falcons that could have crippled their development for years if Jones doesn't turn out to be the star he is now. I'm just trying to gauge the chances of the Ravens getting an elite WR through the draft. Our "luck" is that the year we had a top-10 pick was the year where there was no elite WR in the draft...
And even if we got a WR like Jones... with the dismal offensive play calling we saw this season, he would hardly be anything close to what he is in Atlanta...
And talking about Atlanta... another thing I can't help remembering is how we could have had Shanahan as the new OC replacing Kubiak, but went with Trestman instead...
yes, especially that last paragraph.

Only team that had a shot at knocking them off was the Raiders with a healthy Carr
What do you mean? They are in the toughest division. Toughest! Toughest! If I keep saying it, maybe it will be true.....It's not working! Yes, you are correct; they get a walk in every year.

Actually, I hope they both self destruct.

I actually heard we were going kicker & punter first two rounds in April. Depth is a key factor for successful teams.
Just now, allblackraven said:I'm not worried about Joe. He was clearly affected by ACL tear the previous season. Put a brace on Ryan's knee and see how he does.
That being said, I think Ryan is the better QB of the two. For most of their careers, Joe was on a superior team, that was the difference.
Ryan seems to observe more, read defenses, make changes. He's very active physically and it seems to impact his team. Joe seems uninvolved, detached or something.
ATL 52 minutes before their first defensive flag.

LOL. I'll never forget Brady whining when Suggs was blocked near (not into) his feet. Of course, he got the flag.
Did we pick up a QB coach yet?
Just now, JO_75 said:We need to play this game in the film room before every game next season to remind our coaches that it's ok to keep the pedal to the floor and score anytime you want.
A good Raven picks at the bones til there's no meat left.

“If letting go of the talented nose tackle means the Ravens can bring in a high-impact wide receiver or cornerback, it’s worth it in the long run."
Logic challenge: Change that "or" to an "and" to become a true statement.
