We need to get cooks or Fornette
No, we won't get Dalvin Cook and Fournette will already be gone. But now we will over pay to get Woodhead.

And the hits just keep on coming.
fantastic signing. hope they can keep webb on a reduced salary for insurance
If they can just get his cap number down by 1.5-2 million, he could be a very great disguised player that can help with the nickel or be a free roamer when needed. Webby still has value, maybe not what he is getting paid, but he still adds quality depth.
If we nickel and dime Webb, we can use him in our nickel and dime.
Crazy. We can keep free agents. We can't keep a forum. Lol soon we are gonna lose the team. Jk
Just an FYI:Â The website will still stay up and our posters will still have the ability to comment on the articles. It is just the "Forum" side of the website that will no longer be in operation.
Glad we can still comment on articles. But where will we spill our vitriol during actual games?
rapoport suggested on nfl network that he wouldnt be surprised if doom comes back to the ravens
These are the days when none of what these guys say should be taken seriously... they share/repost/post EVERYTHING they hear, regardless of how trustworthy the source is... For example, just the last 24 hours, Juszczyk was reported to "likely sign with the browns", "almost surely" go to Buffalo - then turns out he'll sign with the 49ers...
Also, a "rumour" that the Ravens have any kind of realistic chance to land Jefferson somehow got loose - and just look at the angry Ravens-fans who took it seriously come here ranting when he signs with the Browns who won't even have to break a sweat outbidding us big time...
Good translations of "media" speak.
I hope Torrey Smith can come back. More fast receivers is never a bad thing. We'd have 3 guys, Smith, Wallace, and Perriman, who can go deep. The amount of speed we can muster could really aid the running game by getting those safeties to back off. We need Flacco throwing the ball deep again. Without it, we're not going to scare anyone.
Yes, more speed is always good. But we need the quick and fearless receiver who will go inside.
need a receivers coach that will get these guys to run crisp routes and improve their overall technique. the team needs to start developing its own receivers instead of leaning on cap casualties or trades
yep
There are at least 26 players (no QB's) in the draft that i would be happy with in round one. So we can trade back 10 positions, still get a top talent, plus pick up another second round pick
I think you may be on to something. There are players with first round grades in the top 50; an unusually solid draft particularly on defense. If the Ravens can get 3 picks in the first 50, that might be worth considering.
I just don't think we can afford the time to draft a "developmental" guy too high at edge, OL, or CB/FS. We just don't have the depth there.Let's stay put with our Draft position picks. Maybe this year we will ACTUALLY draft players at #2 and #3 that can do more than be a fringe Special Teams player. Quick question. If Mel Kiper keeps giving the Ravens an A, A+, or A- in the Draft every year we are we so mediocre?
Whobilly, i normally would be agreeing you, law215 and
RavenManiac#7; and argued for quality over quantity the last couple years. But i think this draft is different. It is really deep and we have a lot of needs. It's unfortunate that we don't have 11 picks this year instead of last year. Look at this list of 29 with no QB's. I originally said "26", so you can drop your least 3 favorite....
Myles Garrett
Leonard FournetteÂ
Jonathan AllenÂ
Jamal Adams
Reuben Foster
Tim Williams
Mike WilliamsÂ
Dalvin Cook
Jabrill Peppers
Quincy Wilson
Corey Davis
Derek Barnett
O.J. Howard
Takkarist McKinley
John Ross
Christian McCaffrey
Jalen Tabor
Zach Cunningham
Taco Charlton
Marshon Lattimore
Sidney Jones
Ryan Ramczyk
Charles Harris
Malik McDowell
Desmond King
Cordrea TankersleyÂ
Solomon Thomas
Marlon Humphrey
Budda Baker
Now obviously if a top 5, maybe top 10 falls to us, we grab him. But otherwise, we can trade down 10 positions, still get a great pick and add another 2nd. If any QB's get picked before #16, then we have even more options. Have I convinced you?

Coaching. But, in fairness, I must add that Mel Kiper doesn't know half what he thinks he does. For the most part, though, poor coaching.
Who the hell is Mel Kiper?

That Flacco guy sounds pretty good.
Wish sports writers would lose the word "prototypical". It either means, "having the typical qualities of a particular group or kind of person or thing" or "representing an original type of something that others are modeled on"
So a WR with prototypical height, weight and speed is of average (typical) size by the first definition (nothing special). Or, he has the size that original WR's used to have i.e. small. Jimmy Orr, Lance Alworth were about 6'0" 185 lb.
since the CB class is really deep and really good, the Ravens might want to wait till the 2nd or even 3rd round to draft one. There is more than one hole to fill and if an elite pass rusher or ILB drops to 16 they might consider taking him.
I usually complain about us trading back, but this year it might make sense. I feel like this is a deeper draft, and an extra second rounder could help. I think there will be a lot of good choices at 16 and even down another ten spots. But I'm an amateur - what do i know?
I Like the sound of this!
Me too. We obviously had a big need there. Hope others get the results Weddle got.
WOW all those TE's. Just tell me whom actually makes on the field and how many are just bench warmers because they CAN'T catch???
Cut Watson today, then 2 others, cut Pitta's pay a bit, he's due to breakdown again. Then Draft TE Howard from Ala. He's all over the field, knows how to catch and does run for those extra yards. Just don't let Ozzie take another WR. We know his record with drafting WR's.
In a story about too many TE's, you suggest drafting another TE? I am going to have to assume you are being sarcastic. We have so many holes, we can live with the TE's we have, even if they are pedestrian.
Peculiar how out of our 11 draft picks this past year, only 6 of them actually showed some production, with 4 getting injured and one going to the practice squad.
yeah, it looked like a pretty good draft until you realize we had 11 picks.
* Our special teams is not number one, only because we can't find a return guy.
* If cap space explodes FA costs, then the relative cost of draftees is reduced. We need to bundle some trades and get more high draft picks.
* I like the Kiper pick.
* This draft confuses me. Everyone says it is so deep, but they hype the first round talent.
* Draft CB & QB rusher (s) - please?
* Looked back at Perriman highlights and dang he could be good.
Perriman can be awesome. But he's going to have to do it on his own; the coaches won't be helping him much. I hope he studies film of great receivers and picks up some tips. Then Jugs all day.
I think we needed coaching changes. Not sure these are the ones.
It's funny that it seems to work out like this a lot. Gilmore has had multiple injuies, hardly played and is coming into a contract year. He will probably ball out and then some team will offer him way too much money and we lose him to free agency. Seem to go that way. Lol
You probably nailed it. Nice to see a player show some Raven attitude though.
I have to say I have grown to love the draft season almost as much as the regular season. Everybody gets to talk smack, and of course everyone is right (in their opinion).
All the names listed so far sound fine and we will get the last one still on the board when we pick. We will trade back from #16 for an extra pick. And if we don't trade back too far, we might even trade back again. I normally don't like that we do that, but I think in this years draft there is enough talent that we will work out ok.
best player available.
We need just about everything except TE, so BPA should work. Although, I'd prefer a good pass rusher or CB.
Get ready to trade down about 3 times.

Actually, i don't know that we will overpay, but Woodhead's agent now has a bigger smile on his face.
