His work on his mechanics during the offseason. As you said he has always been accurate, but he could get happy feet at times. He's now extremely poised in the pocket. He even scrambled a bit, he used to be a statue.

So there is hope for statues?!?!

I don't think you can give all the credit to Kyle. Matt Ryan has always been accurate, this time he's making better decisions and not panicking when things break down. He looks very refined.

Agreed. But a good OC took the talent and used it. Not like what we do.

  3. SHOULD RAVENS TARGET A FIRST-ROUND RUNNING BACK?

I didn't think we "targeted". I thought we picked the Best Player Available?

Actually, I would prefer a modified BPA. Try to fill holes with trades/FA's so we can go BPA. But if what is available via trade/FA is not good enough, then draft to fill the hole first. If it is a reach to do so, then trade down for more picks.

By the way, that's the only time I would trade for more picks. Generally, i think we are better off staying put or trading up for real talent.

  4. According to "reports" the Eagles are considering cutting ties with C Jason Kelce...

If it's true, I can definitely see a trade potential there. Kelce would be an obvious upgrade over Zuttah (sorry, Jeremy...), and a trade would keep Kelce off the FA market where he would probably be offered more than what we could afford...

If he is approaching free agency, how would a trade work? Could he refuse the trade to hit FA instead? Just asking, cause I don't know.

  5. I remember the time when the great, but aging owner of the Baltimore Ravens was replaced by a young one. Also the time when the good, but not-too-young-anymore HC of the Baltimore Ravens was replaced by an up-and-coming new young gun. It wasn't long ago when Ray Lewis, and his aging replacement was suceeded by a young budding star. And the latest case, when an "aging" Haloti Ngata was replaced by fresh staff.

Young replacing the older is not an insult, not an outrage, not disrespect. It's the way it has always been - and a lot of times it's the best that can happen... as the above examples all clearly show.

Sadly, the way of the world. Someday younger commenters will replace us.

13 of the past 14 Super Bowls featured either Brady, Manning, or Ben.... that doesnt put Flacco in that company, it makes him more of an anomaly 1 of 14!

NFL parity in the regular season, only the most profitable franchises are allowed into the super bowl. The Ravens were an anomaly.

I don't know if it's "profitable" franchises; more likely, franchises that make consistently good decisions.

i mean we were definitely better than miami and houston, probably the raiders (without their qb), but we werent a great looking team either

Yes, we are not that good. But we would be up against backup QB's. Pitt & NE pretty much getting a free ride.

no i do think the general level of teams in the nfl this year has been lower than recent history and that has carried over to the players with too many teams that have no legitimate shot at the superbowl (1 of them is still in it - houston)

That just makes it worse that we aren't in there!!!!!

The playoffs this year just has this "meh" feeling to it. Not a lot of great teams that we have seen in the past where we can say, can't wait to see if these two teams play or if these two teams meet in the Super Bowl. Again, I think when you look back at the season the quality on the field was down in general thus we see less exciting playoff games.

The "meh" feeling is cause the Ravens are sitting at home out of uniform watching football on tv and chillin'.

We should file a complaint with thr NFL. Ask for the cap space Hester stoke from us to be applied toward our cap this year. Obviously Hester tanked on purpose and just wanted to steal our money.

Players like him should be suspended for not trying on one team but then actually trying with another team.

Maybe Harbs got in his head...

Pitta was on the field all year and did a great job where you been

Hooray a guy that is actually better suited at WR. He doesn't block and Joe is completely fixated on him. Not much of a TE really.

I'm referring to those young people you know Waller who would rather be suspended. Williams whom at this point is a complete enigma and Gillmore that sat out half the season with chapped lips..those guys.

I think the young TE's can be pretty good with Watson as mentor and Roman as coach. But you have an interesting idea there - make Pitta a slot receiver.

  12. Zuttah is the worst player on the team by far. His missed blocks, OLE style blocking, never looks for second level blocks, horrible!!!! THink about it, if we have the best guard on one side, and a rookie that everyone is raving about on the other, why do we lead the NFL in up the middle pressures. One, is because Joe cant step up on the pocket if there is none. The opposite reason why ours stink, we cant get pressure up the middle. The other is Zuttah has passed his brime, he was a stop gap from not having a plan during the GIno days. Should have been gone, we should have had options.

Good teams are built from the trenches out. We are in good shape with Yanda & Wagner on one side. Adding Stanley & Lewis to the left also puts us in good shape there. We do need a Matt Birk - like center and also some depth. We have the tight ends. With Dixon and West we have a chance for a running game. We need to get back to pounding the rock. It takes the pressure off Flacco to carry the team, which he cannot do. But he can QB the team to success. I am not sure about the OL and offensive coaching. We should be able to make the playoffs.
