The longer the throw, the more important it is to know a receiver's speed. Flacco is used to slower receivers, that's why it was under thrown. He is not used to Givens speed. Maybe if started with us on game one....

I think you are on to something there. Ozzie has a history of drafting well. Hard to believe that he has suddenly lost his edge. We let CB/Safeties go and suddenly they are world-beaters. Something wrong with that picture. We always look at our weaknesses as OL or WR or CB, but we tend not to look at the way these guys are coached in their specialty. More evidence of that is the basic training program, which does not seem to ward off any injuries at all.

But we get lots of injuries on other fields as well. I think we should look at the training program. I said that a few years ago. All teams get injuries, but sometimes we excel at it.

I don't think we know the whole story on Marlon. something going on there. He was too good his rookie year to look this bad now. Wonder what the real story is.

@drillem. Harbaugh's taking chances because he knows the team is not good enough.

With the injured players on the field on the offensive side, we would be be better. In spite of injuries the offense has held up its end. But injuries does not explain our defense. The defense has not made adjustments. The same players make the same mistakes. The penalties continue to add up. Something way wrong with that defense.

@cbrook I'm glad we have Ozzie. But sometimes I think he puts too much emphasis on collecting a quantity of picks instead of quality picks.

Can we not play press? Can we not park at the obvious first down marker? Can we not line up without being off side? These are not hard things. I can see it and I already have a full time job.
