  1. Steve may have missed the big reason fans are dissing NFL games. Quality play. Current formulation for developing and then keeping players doesn't promote quality teams. Many of the teams are just 'also ran's'. I'd watch more often if the play was worth watching. With a dvr I can record then watch commercial free if the play is decent. Otherwise I'm gone fishing instead.

  2. Pass offense needs some help. Some of that will sort out with better run game, however those 2 yard passes when 8 is needed must be figured-out. Flacco looked scared to stand long enough for the play to develop much of the time. Even when he had time he would lob the ball short to ensure his own safety. In short, he's either playing scared or it just looks that way. Some new design plays might help. And reinforce the back end of the defense with some play makers. Very few intercepts this year. Also work on moving the ball after the catch by receivers. Often, when they caught they would drop to the ground or run a sloppy pattern which produced too few yards after the catch. This is mostly coaching stuff with the exception of the emotional issue with Flacco since his injury. Not sure what they do about that. Maybe a Dak Prescott will fall their way somehow.

Harbaugh's insistence on sticking with his guys reminds me of Billick sticking with Boller to the bitter end.

It's not the bitter end until Harbaugh's balding. This year was growing pains. The fact no one called these last few seasons a rebuild mode doesn't erase the fact there are growing pains to be expected.

Compared to last season, this season was much better overall. Yes there is room for improvement, but overall there is more to be content with that dissatisfied.

    1. Address the CB need this offseason, no excuses.
2.Address the offense and get it locked before training camp opens, or it will be a repeat of last season going into a season just guessing what will happen.

If this was a "rebuilding mode" year, then why didn't John use some of the lesser players to give them some play time on Sunday? The only thing this team is building is a sinking ship.

  4. We need a steady quarterback who comes to play each Sunday. Not one who seems to show up sometimes with his head in the clouds. If they can get Flacco on-board that's wonderful, otherwise axe him. He's been a waste of a lot of money since the SB. There are so many issues with him that shouldn't exist with a 9 year man. Everyone thought Romo was 'it' until they saw Prescott. Just sayin'

If that happens the coach would certainly be gone.

This is Harbs crucial year, either he turns this team back around to it's winning days or both him and #5 will be gone. The Browns have been a joke for far too long and finally have the right GM and HC to turn things around, I can see them beating us both times if we have the same OC and DC.. I'm tired of not running the ball and not even seeing our DBs on the screen "covering" the WRs. When we do blitz they recognize it right away and adjust before the snap of the ball. We are stuck in a funk and it's not good...

And those passes for 2 yard gains on 3-8 downs. So predictable everyone knows how to beat us.

That's his job to make sure they're not down.

I still think he's safe this year, but his seat should be feeling very warm entering next season.

I don't see how steve could let  him stay.  Those decisions for 2 years in a row during games has cost how  many games (I forget)?  What player could go out and play good while he gives away their efforts on the field???

  7. a higher draft pick is not the bottom line.   NE generally goes close to last and still best most opponents each year.  anyone who thinks the draft order is an end all isn't thinking at all.   player development which used to be a stong suit has fallen off.  coaching has been suspect for a while.  leadership on the team is missing.  shall I go on.  sometimes changing personnel can be useful.  take a look at Oakland for example.  I don't hold any allusions about this teams near term future whether the same coaches return or not.  but one thing for sure is there will be no improvement ever if things don't change.
