  1. The offense has no place to go but up. But that will depend on getting back to basics and getting more protection for Flacco along with some serious targets which don't seem possible. No replacement for Torrey Smith. If we did get a good receiver the management would just trade him away anyhow.
  2. Old guard, new guard. The team is only what 18 years old or so. If old guard means the guys who were on the team when it started, I'd say that is poppycock. The team, any team is a dynamic force that changes daily. Some of the best players in the league are "new guard" new players. I say let's wait and see what this current group can do before we pass judgement about who's going to be able to win the AFC North title, etc. It's also just too early to do predictions. Cincy played the most useless team in football this week and is the recipient of a win. Big deal. I cannot draw any conclusions from that. Can you?
  3. Oh, I forgot. Where was the 'horse-whisperer' yesterday? Or qb whisperer or whatever they call him? Whispering was about all he did yesterday.
  4. The season is too new to make any conclusions about the rest of the season. It was a learning experience though. The defense looks solid. The offense looks like it needs to be revamped, though. More targets for Flacco and more protection for Flacco are in order going forward. I'm sure the management saw the same thing, though so I won't do the beat-down on them.
  5. It was a really good showing all considered for the team. Suggs injury: not so much. He will be missed. But Ravens are all about 'next man up' attitude. That's what makes them an elite team year after year.
  6. Ravens played a really good defense. And they played against Peyton Manning and held him to no td's. They nearly held their own to boot. Just a play or 2 either way made the game outcome. I can't complain. It was over 100 degrees on the field and over 5000 ft altitude. This was never going to be an easy game to begin with. At least Manning didn't get 7 td's like 2 years ago. You gotta believe the offense will get better. There's no place to go but up.
  7. Kubiak? What is a Kubiak? I thought we were done hearin' about the dude.
  8. I agree with the post below. Rule changes are causing substantial injury increases. The unintended consequences of desk jockey decision makers.
  9. Typical Ravens. Play up Perriman injury then unleash him in the first game and let him fly. Luv it.
  10. So what's the alternative? To play him in practice with an injury? How would that help? Players get injured and need to take the time to heal. Better now than during the season in my book.
  11. Joe Flacco is Joe Flacco. No need to put anything before or after his name.
  12. I like Shaub as backup. He can be an influence during games in helping Joe with technical info in difficult situations as well. He has a level of experience in qb that few teams have in a backup qb.
  13. If you play poker and cheat you could either become the greatest card player of all time or get caught and punished. Not so in football, it seems. If you cheat in football you get known as the greatest qb in the history of the game even after you get caught. Now some may think Brady got his record from fine play, etc. I think not. I am not a sucker. I believe the only way Brady came into football and began winning from the start was by altered balls, spying, and anything else he conjured up. Makes me a lot less likely to re-up for tickets, sunday pass, etc. The lesson here is if your team cheats but makes it look good very little happens. But if it is politcally incorrect cheating you will be castigated a-la Saints rewarding rough play. Next time you see Brady feign injury after barely being touched on a play you will be able to see how he has used every advantage available to cheat. He should be sat down like Pete Rose and not given any more chances after 4 games or a hundred and 4 games.
  14. Makes me wonder now if the Cundiff 2011 season famous fg attempt was with a deflated or otherwise altered ball by the 'New England Cheaters'. I've always been suspect of that condition/ball fg attempt. I've looked at it over and over and there's something wrong. And I don't believe 'the NE Cheaters' just started cheating last season. In fact we all know better.
  15. Wish JJ could have played all his games for the Ravens. Good to see him return in any capacity.
  16. Steve, if it's any help, this only happens to football players. So when your career is over and you retire you will never experience this again:))
  17. Ban Brady for good. Stop the madness. His crying everytime he gets touched in a game and the endless whining about everything else is disgusting. Ship him off to the CFL
  18. Lay down, raise your kids and live off the $$ you've made. Not to sound mean but putting your family through this for the 3rd time just isn't worth it. We all know you were a premier talent. Let your ego rest on that thought and retire with dignity and relative good health. Better walking away than being carried out.
  19. Plus the fact that both come from roughly the same geographic location (Philly). For Shaub his direction down came after the season ending injury. Something in him changed after that. Could have been physical or mental not sure. Might have even been some subtle change in coaching support. But he was a force to be reckoned with just a few years back. Should be good for Joe to have his input on Sunday outings. We got this thing going towards the new offense scheme. I don't know if too many heads are better than one though.
  20. To Ngata: There's no fool like an old fool.
  21. If he was smart, he'd retire and raise his kids. Perhaps a commentator or ombudsman for a business would be better suited for his physical condition at this point in his life. And if the team takes him on again they run the same risk as the last 2 years.
  22. Well if they are doing a Ravens move at least they learned from the best.
  23. This guy would have to be tough to grow up where he did. Strength of character would have to be a strong suit.
  24. I look for this to be a John Harbaugh team this season.
  25. If you got a real good team but a lousy kicker you could lose games anyhow with this new change. It should be interesting. And kickers who are good are going to be the new quarterbacks.
