  1. The sarcasm on this blog is deserved.
  2. glad it's halftime. whew. I need a drink.
  3. Bad and getting worse.
  4. The Bengals don't need to take the heart out of the Ravens. They've done that to themselves.
  5. The backfield has no hope
  6. So, if your run game works well, why use it says Trestman
  7. I don't think Flacco cares anymore.
  8. can you say s-u-c-k-f-e-s-t?
  9. Enough of this dribble The defense played awful due to a week in a San Jose Hotel prior to the game. Plain and simple. Going on at length about this player and that coach regarding the play is fruitless. Those responsible for the 'extended stay' between Denver and Oakland need to go to a re-education camp and be taught that living in a hotel isn't the same as being at home during the week and working on your game. To go from the defense that we saw in Denver to the one we saw in Oakland in one week proves my point.
  10. Common sense. Duh. 4 hours on a plane or 11 days in a hotel. Duh. A first grader could make the right decision.
  11. I keep reading about 'grasshoppers' from some others who write on here. For your information there are no grasshoppers writing on these blogs. The blind reference to karate kid patience is off-base. Watching a team like this play like they did on Sunday would require more than patience. And the next time Ravens management get the big idea to stay in a hotel for a week prior to a game during the regular season, well... Time for those who make decisions to step up and use a little more thought. The talent was hidden in Oakland. Nowhere to be found. Dumervil's performance was just the tip of the proverbial iceberg. Play calling was atrocious. Misuse of time cost us dearly.
  12. Try staying in a hotel for 7 days or 11 days, even a luxury hotel. It will wear you down. No more 'extended stays' please.
  13. I like our chances at the draft next spring.
  14. Suggs absence is a convenient excuse for a poor showing by an unrested team that spent a week in a hotel prior to playing a professional nfl football game yesterday. Unlike many, I don't think Suggs absence was the reason for the defensive showing yesterday. Scheduling and lack of prep time during the week in a San Jose hotel may have more to do with the way they played. Blaming Suggs loss may be popular but not accurate in my mind. The defense looked pooped and so did the coaches. Next time fly back and forth instead of checking the team into some hotel for week during the season. Ever stay in a hotel for a week? How did you feel? Suggs absence is just too simplistic an excuse.
  15. Cincy came to town (Oakland) with fully rested, beginning of the season. Baltimore came to town after staying in a hotel for a week. And it showed. Not to make excuses, but... The scheduling people gave the shaft to Baltimore. Take a look at Harbaugh (above). He looks wrinkled and lacking in sleep. I'm sure the stay in San Jose was no vacation. The walk through on Saturday at Stanford just wasn't enough to get the team ready to play. You interrupt a person's regular habits and it takes a toll. This team looked beat yesterday and for good reason. Let's see how they play after they get back home.
  16. I've often thought these games are 'decided' by the officials who can make or break a teams win with one or two key penalties. We all know which I'm referring to. This crew seemed to be 'penalty happy' often interrupting the flow of the game with calls that never seem to happen to teams like the Pats or Broncos. Officials can make the offense or defense look bad in a game with calls they make during the game. Giving a win (or loss) to a team here and there keeps all teams competitive and give fans in each city a reason to return the following week. Now I'm not saying there's hanky-panky going on, but... Couple that with scheduling a team 2 openers out west in a row away from home... Try sleeping in a hotel for a week and then playing a professional football game up to normal speed... Ever stay in a hotel for a week while on business or vacation? The 'experiment' may not be repeated by management in the future. Harbaugh looked like he hadn't slept in days during his presser last night. Not to make excuses but Cincy and Pburgh had at least one of their first 2 games at home. Eisenberg sounds like the sky is falling. Maybe it is but the season isn't over yet.
  17. Not to make an excuse but 2 games out west to start the season? Does the nfl scheduling dept hate the Ravens or what? And the Ravens played Denver at Denver the last time too. I follow football and don't see other teams getting the same treatment from league scheduling. Just a random thought. If one of these games had been at M&T the record might be different. Scheduling makes a huge difference in the scheme of things. For different reasons both these games were close and could have gone the other way. This team wasn't ready for prime time after the real season began. I'm sure Harbaugh won't get much sleep until this team improves. He's that kind of guy.
  18. We're headed for #1 in the draft next spring.
  19. I wouldn't want to be in Harbaugh's shoes come tomorrow. He has more work to do than anyone could possible handle. The FO needs to make some major trades and acquistions right away. The present crew look a bit flat.
  20. Too many missed tackles. No pass rush. Seems whoever Carr passed to, ran circles around our defense. It was bad. I think that week in California may have had a bad effect.
  21. If they can take last weeks defense and this weeks offense and put them together...
  22. Also the robbery each year of our coaching staff by other teams keeps our team in constant flux. How many seasons in a row has Flacco and the rest of the offense had to start over with all new coaching personnel? Try that yourself where you work and see if you start off good each time it happens. I think the Ravens do a magnificent job considering they're always the target of picking off of their staff by other teams. I don't want to make excuses here but lets give these guys a chance to gel before passing judgement on their performance. If I was Joe Flacco I'd have trouble remembering the OC's name let alone his play calls.
  23. What I'd like to know is why the game between the Ravens and Broncos wasn't played in B-more. Last time they played was in Denver at the beginning of the 2013 season. Scheduling can make or break a teams hope of winning. Is there an unseen hand at work here at NFL headquarters that secretly destroys this teams chances each season? Whats fair is fair and whats not is not. That game should by all rights have been played at M&T Bank. No ifs ands or buts.
  24. Relax Ravens fans. After one week you guys think the sky is falling. The lost, yes. But by 6 points in a close game against one of the finest teams in the NFL in their home field. No team is going to win every game every Sunday. The Ravens will be fine. Joe Flacco was rushed by an awesome pass rush by Denver. There will be fine-tuning needed yes. But this team is famous for adjusting. Go Ravens.
  25. All I know is it's rather difficult for Flacco to complete passes while laying on his butt. That protection needs to be strengthened and soon. It looked like 2013 all over again last Sunday.
