  1. 'bend but do not break' may be the death of us.
  2. It happens. Sometimes teams get an unfair share of injuries and fall to the basement during that season. Could be the ghost of Ray Rice doing it.
  3. We better get a decent and reliable receiver before Flacco gets too old to throw the ball anymore. Or we'll have an even bigger problem (no receiver and no qb).
  4. I feel bad for SSS finishing his career with this years Ravens.
  5. I 'member when the fans were calling for Cams head and no one listened. Then one day he was axed and the team went to the SB. I think they lost 3 or 4 straight in 2012 (the last games Cam was around). Now that's the kind of 'change' this team needs. Nothing shakes up everybody's thinkin' like fear of losing your own job.
  6. I'm sitting here watching Ray Lewis talking about defense on MNF pre-game show. I remember him ending a game in that very stadium where he came through the line after the snap and floored the Charger's running back cold in the back field. Now that's the kind of attitude we need on this years team. They should show the players videos of Ray's old games and show them whats-for. This group doesn't have that edge at all.
  7. All I know is the fans need to drink more beer and whiskey the rest of this season to kill the pain.
  8. Beware. Copy and paste doesn't work on this site.
  9. %u201CThe coaches are doing a good job,%u201D Harbaugh said. %u201CWe%u2019ve just got to collectively find a way to finish games and get the job done. It%u2019s tough challenges that we%u2019re facing, but we%u2019ve got just the men for the job right here.%u201D If this is a 'good job', I'd hate to see the alternative.
  10. Two weeks in a row Harbaugh made a call that cost us the lead at the end of regulation. Both games went to OT. I wish Harbs would just played it conservative. Gadget plays and going for 2 point after are too risky for this group. It looks like Harbaugh is coaching a team he may have had a few years back instead of what he does have now. These fellows need extra time. Work between Flacco and his receivers needs improvement. If the current group of receivers ever finds a way to get open it will be with more technique and practice. More time spent coaching and less time spent going to college football games on Saturdays.
  11. If Harbs hadn't called that 2 point after and went and got the 1 point the score at the end of regulation would have been 31 to 30 and the Ravens would have won. That is the only fact I can remember about the game.
  12. To sum it up: I had some pressing things to do but decided to watch the game instead. Afterwhile, I was able to walk away from the tv and do the pressing stuff instead without wishing I was watching 'the team'. The penalties, the coaching, the injuries, the fact that the lowly Browns were allowed to shine so bright made the decision easy.
  13. Cap space issues due to factors like domestic violence and injuries cause a team to look like this. If the team were free to hire the players needed the play would be far different. Shame is its the luck of the draw for it to happen to this team, this season. Players that could benefit the team have been traded away to save money while players who no longer exist in the NFL are still counted against the salary cap. Players that are injured beyond ability to return remain on the roster. That makes this team a shell as stated above. Once cap space comes back it will be possible to rebuild this team. And none of this is about Flacco's salary at this point. That doesn't kick in till next year.
  14. U ever see Belichek get his defense together during a game and coach them when the other team finds a hole in their coverage? We gotta be more flexible when things happen. The Browns tight end coverage should have been addressed mid 2nd half by Harbs. It's too late to address it in practice next week. Also getting them together and getting the penalty thing straightened out during the game would have been a plus. So many things that could have been done and weren't. Very frustrated with the coaching style.
  15. The last game of last season in NE we got 2 (count 'em) 14 point leads and couldn't hold either and lost. Then this season we got leads in several of the 5 games and lost all but one. The definition of insanity is making the same mistakes over and over and do nothing about it. We got to get some new blood in coaching or other leadership in order to get over this bad hump.
  16. And if you lose to both Oakland and Cleveland in the first quarter of the season you know just how bad things really are.
  17. In any organization when things get stale like this the only way out is to shake things up, personnel-wise. That includes coaching. This season is toast but at least the team can use the remainder of this season to begin to rebuild starting with the people.
  18. Just no excuse for the penalties. Inability to figure out where to line up is inexcusable. Every time they got a good play they also got a penalty. Get 'em off the field. Poor, poor showing by the players.
  19. Many of the teams players should be stripped of their purple and black and not allowed to stink up M&T Bank again.
  20. Sloppy play (penalties), sloppy coaching (going for 2 rather than 1 after the td). Inability to tackle by the defense on too many plays. This team is drifting badly and needs a major shake up. I'm talking about some new blood at hc.
  21. In this topsy-turvey season where favored teams are underperforming, anything is possible. Of course you got your 2 or 3 teams that always seem to be in the mix but after that anything is possible. I don't count the Ravens out. Especially when you consider how their season schedule was stacked against them at the beginning (2 western games to start out the season).
  22. Ravens should ground-pound the Brownees almost every play until they bleed and fall down. Then stomp right on into the end zone with score after score. Maybe Flacco to Kumar a few times in between just for good measure:)
  23. Jim and John are practically joined at the hip so I guess it's to be expected. Although I'd rather see him working on Ravens strategy he may deserve a brief respite from the teams workings.
