I'd like to draft a pass rusher or a DB in the first and second. Guard is also a need. But I think Zeitler or Leary are relatively cheap FAs.
JC Tretter has been excellent for the packers this season. He's worth paying imo a huge upgrade over Zuttah

We saw in 2013 that if you give him quality QB play, that he would completely demolish teams. We've all seen guys like AB, and AJ Green play go down without good QB play or at least trend downwards with the health of their QBs. We saw AB go through a stretch we have never seen him go through last year without Big Ben. Guys like Alshon play at a #1 WR level without quality QB play but with them they take themselves to a whole new level.
I'm not saying he's going to come here, that's far from the case, and its not because I'm going to assume that the Bears will keep him, I'm saying that he won't come here because of the fact that the FO will keep doing what they do. Patchwork the receiving group and work on other positions. Not to say it has not work for us because its paid off, but so many times I look at the offense and say that an elite WR is not a need but a HUGE want for this team. Yeah, we don't need one, but best believe this offense really wants one.
When it comes to skill and talent I'd put Alshon at those guys level. He's probably a top 7 receiver in the league. His route running has improved since 2013, but inconsistent QB play has hurt him. The jump ball is his strong suit and Flacco loves the jump ball. Injuries though have really caused a decline in Alshon and for that fact alone I'm not sure if he's worth paying elite WR money

He really threw that hoping for the old Torrey Smith penalty. That's all he banks on with his high lofts.
He's clearly hurt I don't think he had the arm strength to hit receivers underneath as he missed so many throws in the second half

Lucks o line isn't bad lol. Biggest misconception in the league. He takes sacks because he holds onto the ball for so long not to mention their offense is full of plays of 7 step dropbacks.

They'd be running the ball a lot more and effectively so your statement is incorrect
I know the season isn't over but I decided to look into 2017 and the Ravens roster might be a mess.
2017
FA: Ricky Wagner
Brandon Williams
Steve Smith
Kamar Aiken
Matt Elam
Lawrence Guy
Anthony Levine
Will Davis
Kyle Juszczyk
Jerraud Powers
Devin Hester
Ryan Mallett
A good amount of depth players along with starters are projected FAs at this point.
The cut candidates just based on poor play, overpay, cap room, and injuries leading them to be unavailable
Elvis Dumervil
Lardarius Webb
Benjamin Watson
Sharecee Wright
Jeremy Zuttah
Kyle Arrington
Kendrick Lewis
We have a lot of holes going into next season, I'm not sure a draft and offseason pick ups will may this team any better next season
Where do I start.
1.OLB- our secondary has been pretty good so far in terms of yardage allowed but pass rush comes and goes. Probably a combination of Injury and old age. ZDS hasn't done anything KC can't get on the field and Judons been inactive the past 2 games. Pass rush just hasn't been there.
2. LG, C ,RT- Every team can't have studs at every position on the o line. I know we have Alex Lewis at LG but I feel like he'd be better playing RT. KO leaving in FA hurt and Zuttah has regressed. Wagner a free agent in 2017, he's also regressed from a spectacular 2014 season. We need to target at least one of these positions.
3. WR- heading into 2017 we have 2 guys that can run fast in a straight line in Perriman and Wallace, but there isn't a guy that can beat CBs with route running and clean releases. Oh and one of those guys that runs fast can't catch.
4. CB- Jimmy is solid but SW is way too up and down well he's been more down lately.
5. SS or FS(interchangeable) I don't think we keep Webb next year with his salary.

JC Tretter
Joe Hawley
Brian Schwenke
Cody Wallace
AQ Shipley
What's left of John SullivanThat's not the cliff notes - that's the entire group. Tretter seems to be doing pretty well for the Packers, so he'll probably get locked up before hitting FA. Which would make Shipley a top-five C in FA this offseason.
Tretter has been very good for the packers so far this season. It would definitely be an upgrade over Zuttah
Yeah play calling was bad, but with this dink and dunk offense the offense can't commit penalties or drop balls and that's all that's been happening since week 1. The oline is holding on just about every play. This reminds me of 2013 when reports came out that Caldwell and Casitllo were both teaching different things to their o linemen.
Perriman has his fair shair of the blame as well. A dropped perfect pass that would've put us inside the 5 and another perfect pass but he didn't get his foot in bounds
4 minutes ago, jdynamite said:Abandoning the Run game with patch work oline lost the game.
West finished with 11 carries. No reason that guy shouldn't have had 25 carries in this close game.
Mosley play can't cost the game by virtue of he made a spectacular play to get the INT.
Not to mention the touchback put the ball back to where Washington already was
Worst coaching staff in the NFL

Announcer kept saying how he nailed one from 65 with a lot of room to spare before the game.
True but that's a tall task for a kicker in an in game situation. If Chris Moore would've caught the ball we would've been talking about a 59 yarder maybe even shorter.

A meger 4/4 touchdown to interception. I won't even count his fumbles. A 79.3 Qbr that's good for 34th in the league. A 6.3 yards per catch average (41st in the league). All of this and he has played some of the worst defenses the NFL has to offer.
Why cant we just admit that he needs to much to be great? We can't get him what he needs at the salary he commands. Flacco is an average QB and has been his whole career. In a passing league his numbers should be way better than that. Especially being in the top three in attempts. Now i guess its the lack of weapons and drops.....smh enough is enough.
We are lackluster on offense and our games are painful to watch. We don't have any superstars on this team. Best players on this team Brandon Williams ,CJ Mosley, Yanda, Tucker, SSS (in his late thirties), Jernigan and Judon are beast (young and upcoming prospects) then everybody else. Suggs didn't get mentioned because his play is on the decline. If we're honest with ourselves this is the only real talent that we have for the future. Yanda and SSS are getting older.
Watch the all 22 game tape and tell me Flacco is a bad QB. The receivers on our team wouldn't even be starting on most other rosters. We probably have the worst WR core in the league(maybe the Rams may be worse but they do have a game breaker in Tavon Austin) even the Browns have passed us in that category.
I hate that shotgun toss play
Everyone on this board for some reason believes Stanley is an all pro LT lol. I don't think his absence wouldn't make much of a difference. He hasn't been all that good so far
On 9/27/2016 at 6:38 PM, BmoreBird22 said:What does Buckner add to the team that would make it advantageous to have him over Stanley? Keep in mind that with no Stanley and no Monroe, you're likely starting Hurst.
Interior pass rush for 1 he's probably the best rookie d lineman. As good as Jernigan has been playing our dline would be very good at rushing the passer. Stanley has been struggling. Tyrone Holmes and Dante Fowler have given him fits. These aren't the elite rushers either. Like I said drafting a LT high doesn't mean he's going to come in and be an all pro from day one they have all struggled, but everyone on this board believes that isn't true lol. You can't say we would start Hurst if Stanley wasn't there im sure our front office would have made a trade or have Alex Lewis start at LT. Stanley is also doubtful for Sunday so availability is a huge question at LT yet again.
3 weeks in Buckner should've been our pick. Stanley hasn't gave up any sacks yet but he's been handled on some plays. His biggest weakness right now is strength. Bull rush has given him fits Tyrone Holmes and Dante Fowler have exposed that. Hopefully he gets better
we can't draft WRs period
2 minutes ago, OLD SCHOOL SMASH BALL said:How many people think we reached for pick 70? If we were pucking best player available, Correa would not be it. Who would you have rather had at 70?
I get the feeling we're following the Seahawks way of drafting this year taking guys that fit our scheme and not worried about what the general consensus is on a player. That said I don't think Correa and Kaufusi get much play time this year they may be only 3rd down specialists.

True but Corey Linsey was the projected starter, I think that is Ted Thompsons guy; what really scares me is the lack of cap space next season as of right now the Chiefs, Jets, Cowboys, and Eagles have less cap space heading into next season. Sure we can cut some guys but even then we'll barely be below the average cap space in the league. So where is all this money going? It sure doesn't show on the field. I don't think we'll be in the mix for some free agent signings. Especially guys like Tretter(the best center available) is going to be overpaided by a team in need. I don't even think we're going to be able to retain most of our free agents. I don't think we're going to be contenders until 2018.
