  1. Just imagine if we would have had Lewis and Brady on the same team. We would have used the Steelers as a toilet paper for over a decade. And who knows, maybe Lewis would have taught Brady how to be a man, instead of being a little whiny crybaby he is today.

To be honest I like it the way it turned out. It so gratifying to beat Tom Brady. Especially the way we do in the playoffs :)

  2. Since these “WHAT IF’S” don’t mean a hill of beans. Let’s go with another version.

With the 5th instead of Jamal Lewis (RB) they draft Brian Urlacher (LB) who was drafted 4 spots later ensuring Priest Holmes stayed a Raven.

With the 10th pick instead of Travis Taylor (WR) they draft John Abraham (DL) who was drafted 2 spots later.
In the 3rd round instead of Chris Redman (QB) they Draft Laveranues Coles (WR) who was drafted 4 spots later.

In the 5th round instead of Richard Mercier (G) they Draft Marc Bulger (QB) who was drafted 15 spots later in the 6th round.

In the 6th round they still draft Adalius Thomas (LB), but instead the drafting Cedric Woodard (DT) with their last pick they take undrafted Shaun O’Hara.

    So: Vs.
    QB Marc Bulger Chris Redman
    WR Laveranues Coles Travis Taylor
    OL Shaun O’Hara Richard Mercier
    LB Brian Urlacher Jamal Lewis
    LB Adalius Thomas Adalius Thomas
    DL John Abraham Cedric Woodard

    LB Brian Urlacher Jamal Lewis?

Urlacher was a MLB so he wasn't going to replace Ray Lewis. We were a 4-3 team then so only 1 MLB was needed and it was Ray. Jamal Lewis helped us win our first Super Bowl. Urlacher never won one before.

  3. Yes we did play well and I'm not ashamed of our boys but this is three out of four tries of not making the playoffs, changes must come, if we are going to get back to the playoffs!!!

We left too many points on the board and eventually it caught up to us. Is it me or didn't take enough deep shots yesterday? He has become more of a check down guy this year. I think offensive coordinator should be a point of interest this year, but Harbaugh seems to be loyal to guys for a least 2-3 years before something is done :(

  4. This team wasn't good enough this season especially at corner back. How many years have we been dealing with this problem. Just look at all the games we lost an most of them we lost because our corners are hurt or there getting beat like a drum. Every year we start the season an can't run the ball until the end of the season. Same stuff over an over again but the corner position has been neglected for to long an it keeps kicking us in the butt over an over again.

I agree. The secondary has been an issue for a few years now. Either we draft guys that don't develop enough or we end of up with DB's that other teams do away with. I thought last year we were a good DB away from being great...then Joe got hurt and it didn't matter...Joe is back this year and we are still a good DB away from being great. Maybe we are two DBs away now because I can't see how you can keep Jimmy Smith around...too injury prone...nothing against him, but if you are not on the field how can you help?

  5. It was one heck of a battle, a classic matchup between these two teams. The offense could have done more with the 3 dropped TD's and the defense could have made the stop on their final drive. Where was the pass rush all day? I absolutely hate it when we go into the "Peesvent" defense. Our zone coverages have been weak all season.

The only issue I had with Pees was how he had Weddle blitzing. He was already on the LOS before the ball was close to being snapped. With our DB's you can't let a QB like Ben know that you have no one in the deep middle too soon.

Scored to fast, Take the kneel at the inch yardline. Clock management, clock management, clock management. Just like Larry Fitzgerald in the Superbowl against the Squealers. He scored and left to much time. We also left a lot of points on the field.

If you can't trust your defense to hold or 1:18 that's an issue. We struggled all day in the red zone. He did the right thing to score. Defense didn't get to Ben enough on last drive is reason we lost, not scoring too fast.

Jimmy "WeakSauce" Smith, now you can sit out the rest of the season.

Yeah I'm having second thoughts about him. Not that he isn't a good player or anything. But as the saying goes "your best ability is availability"...seems like he has never completed and entire season. I'm a wrong?

  7. Wasn't feeling this at all. Just not what I'd expect from a veteran leader with a critical game coming-up. Too casual, too immature and just to playful. Had he been a direct friend, college teammate or family member...it's cool, but....really?

Suggs always has a back and forth with QB's. He has history with Big Ben and the Uggs guy specifically...just part of his game getting into the QB's head.

  8. Personally I think this is the year Ozzie would be best suited to let Eric take lead on the draft. Of course weigh in with insights, but it is time to begin transitioning the GM role in a more substantial manner. He was chosen and groomed to take over one day and that day gets closer each season. I'd prefer to see him with more responsibility and allow Ozzie to prepare for his eventual exit or reduction of his current role. This also makes sense with the transitioning of the Ravens team from one of defensive prowess to one more offensively powered and a younger core of players.

This guy is one of the best on draft day even though his draft picks usually do not start until the late teens or 20's and you say he needs to step back? Come on man....in Ozzie We Trust bro.

  9. time to start drafting guys that will be vocal leaders like ray and ed and back it up on the field. this team has talent but it needs play making talent. players that will be game changers like reed with his ball hawking. what happened to the running game in one year. o-line was dominant and now it cannot open holes and allows flacco to be hit at a high rate. need a new dc and some new position coaches plus trestman must be more aggressive. drafting better players will make a huge difference.

Easier said that done. It would be nice to know what this guys will be before drafted. You don't know how good hall-of-famers are until you lose 2 of them to retirement and one to injury (Sizzle). We look average at best on a week-to-week basis on defense.
