  1. I think you're reaching here on a couple of these guys, and also on Doss's talent, but I agree that our WRs are above average at best, average is more like it.
  2. One of my favorite books of all time! The movie in my opinion was a little too safe and certain parts were kind of cheesy, but the narrative style is pretty unique so it did well all things considered.
  3. Crazy how he's gone from getting a pick in the Superbowl to being cut by the Texans. I don't think he would be much of an upgrade from who we have now. Yeah, he's one of the best safeties of all time, but he's hurtling downhill. There's a reason we didn't resign him this past offseason. I would love to see him on the sidelines, though. This team could use the intensity.
  4. he's not worth that, but other teams and his agent seem to think so. personally, i think he's great on a team where he gets a lot if help (suggs, art jones, ngata) but if you put him all by himself he'll be no help.
  5. haven't you heard? we're interested in Danny Amendola. would much rather have Greg, but don't think we'll have the cash to get it done.
  6. slightly agree. JJ had a few key drops this season. (the 3rd/4th down in Denver pops out) however, i think we should give him the chance. you could say that we shouldn't have given him a chance at PR/KR because of how poorly he did in Houston. this is a whole other team. i think, if he steps up, he could be a spectacular number 2.
  7. completely agree. some would worry that he had hit his ceiling this postseason. well, at least his ceiling at the age he is now.
  8. nope. not happening. if anquan Boldin can't get that much, you won't be able to either.
  9. no thanks to Cody. coming from a 'Bama fan, he was painfully awful this year. he was a poor replacement, but luckily our other guys picked up. hopefully no one will have to pick up this year.
  10. NFL is a business...if you're talking about what i think you're talking about o.o
  11. not proven at all. i think Doss may become good, but never as great as Q. it will be a long time before anyone stumbles our way and they have the same kind of hands as Q. the guy was a freak.
  12. that may be stretching it. i would give him 2, MAYBE 3 years. A long-term deal wouldn't have been a huge deal, really.
  13. jaguars/dolphins QB/backup. in short: NOT THE MAN THE JETS NEED RIGHT NOW haha.
  14. he doesn't play nearly as much as Wes, either. injury-prone, if we're thinking of the same people.
  15. aside from Bernard Pollard and maybe Ed Reed, Q was the only guy on the roster who emanated what it meant to be a raven. he was tough, kind, resilient, scary and his play said more than spoke for itself. he will be sorely missed not only in play, but in spirit.
  16. oh, that's gotta hurt. "Lets replace mediocre quarterbacks with another, yes?"
  17. Danny is more of a Wes Welker than he is an Anquan Boldin. if we are getting Welker-clones, I'd prefer the much-cheaper tavon austin. also, would he share PR duties with JJ?
  18. twilight of his career? his postseason was freaking monstrous! 350 yds in 4 games. extend that over an entire season and you have almost 1500 yds recieving. we're going to be missing out, especially since a lot of his catches are very clutch. "Next man up" as they say.
  19. lee Evans ended up being a bit of a bust haha but yes, a 6th round pick is nothing to sneeze at. just think we could have gotten more.
  20. and another thing: ENTER TAVON AUSTIN!
  21. important thing is that he fixed it right away. dropped maybe 2 balls all year this year. he was reliable as anyone could possibly be.
  22. W...H...A...T???? what a steal for the niners. glad we managed to get a draft pick as opposed to just cutting him, but they're stacked already! total mistake by the FO. this is a tough pill to swallow.
  23. i agree with you on that. however, in the long term, Torrey and Dennis ARE more important. they are younger, and in a year or so they could become serious SERIOUS threats. meanwhile, Q is aging and although his play doesn't show it, he's got MAYBE three years left in him. as of right now I think that Boldin is more important, but if we're talking outside of the next season or two, Pitta and Smith are miles more important.
  24. i guess my main problem with doss is that his BIG thing was supposed to be that he had great hands. i would have had the same issue with Torrey if, during his two seasons here, he was slow. all I'm saying is that if you're marketed as a possession reciever, fans should be able to say that you are slow or you can't get seperation or whatever, but they should never be able to point at your hands and say that they are your weakest asset. once again, this is just from what I've seen, and I can't really be sure with Tandon until I see him a little more.
  25. ik, ik. i have a pretty bad impression of doss right now, but he hasn't really played all that much, and it's not fair to compare a starter to someone who has played a lot less. he will probably never be Q, but i don't think many WRs will come our way anytime soon that are.
