  1. Myth: Torrey Smith, Jacoby Jones, and Marlon Brown form an above average group of receivers.

Fact: I can name a receiver from every team who is better than Torrey. (Yes these names are debatable, I'm just trying to make a point)

AFCE: Mike Wallace, Jeremy Kerley, Stevie Johnson, Danny Amendola

AFCN: AJ Green, Antonio Brown, Josh Gordon

AFCS: Reggie Wayne, Andre Johnson, Nate Washington, Justin Blackmon

AFCW: Demarius Thomas, Dwayne Bowe, Denarius Moore

NFCE: Victor Cruz, Desean Jackson, Pierre Garcon, Dez Bryant

NFCN: Jordy Nelson, Greg Jennings, Calvin Johnson, Brandon Marshall

NFCS: Julio Jones, Marques Colston, Steve Smith, Vincent Jackson

NFCW: Golden Tate, Michael Crabtree, Larry Fitzgerald, Tavon Austin

I like our guys, but let's be honest. There's a LOT of overlooked talent on the other 31 teams. Tandon Doss did not make Green Bay's roster, and I think he's actually our 2nd best receiver. Add a true #1 WR to our group and THEN we have a nice cast.

I think you're reaching here on a couple of these guys, and also on Doss's talent, but I agree that our WRs are above average at best, average is more like it.

  2. Great Book! Didn't get to see the movie though...

One of my favorite books of all time! The movie in my opinion was a little too safe and certain parts were kind of cheesy, but the narrative style is pretty unique so it did well all things considered.

  3. Crazy how he's gone from getting a pick in the Superbowl to being cut by the Texans.

I don't think he would be much of an upgrade from who we have now. Yeah, he's one of the best safeties of all time, but he's hurtling downhill. There's a reason we didn't resign him this past offseason. I would love to see him on the sidelines, though. This team could use the intensity.

  4. if we get victor cruz i will never say another negative thing on these boards again. here's hoping your right . ok just one more kruger is not worth 10-12 million a year .

he's not worth that, but other teams and his agent seem to think so. personally, i think he's great on a team where he gets a lot if help (suggs, art jones, ngata) but if you put him all by himself he'll be no help.

  5. yeah I'm not seeing it. Houston tried to turn him into a #2 receiver and it didn't work out. You'd think he'd have worked out with Andre Johnson

slightly agree. JJ had a few key drops this season. (the 3rd/4th down in Denver pops out) however, i think we should give him the chance. you could say that we shouldn't have given him a chance at PR/KR because of how poorly he did in Houston. this is a whole other team. i think, if he steps up, he could be a spectacular number 2.

  6. He was set to make 7 million and they wanted him to take a 2 mil pay cut. Just give him a 3 million base salary with a 4 million dollar signing bonus and another 3 mil base next season. That way he gets his 7 million this season while still being the 5 mil hit that they wanted. Yes this guarantees him another 2 million next season but that's a small price for what he is worth. He could easily play two more seasons.

completely agree. some would worry that he had hit his ceiling this postseason. well, at least his ceiling at the age he is now.

  7. Also let's not blame people for being 'emotional,'. It's not like we sent David Reed packing. Q, even when he was a Cardinal, was really just a bird with the wrong colors on. Great guy, great leader, never gave up or whined like Mason through alllll the Can Cuffed years and TOOK the manhood from every DB he went up against all the way through the playoffs. It's okay that people are upset and if people are really saying this isn't a huge deal well I'm just gonna have to point to the scoreboard.

aside from Bernard Pollard and maybe Ed Reed, Q was the only guy on the roster who emanated what it meant to be a raven. he was tough, kind, resilient, scary and his play said more than spoke for itself. he will be sorely missed not only in play, but in spirit.

  8. I agree with many here that without Q's play in the playoffs we don't win the whole thing . The problem is Q has definitely lost speed

since his earlier years and has had a lot of trouble getting separation the last two years . Yes when Caldwell started playing

to his strength(strong Hands) and getting Joe to put the ball up high and let him get it ,he started playing better and excelled .

I think we will be fine . Q was making a lot of money for an receiver in the twilight of his career .

twilight of his career? his postseason was freaking monstrous! 350 yds in 4 games. extend that over an entire season and you have almost 1500 yds recieving. we're going to be missing out, especially since a lot of his catches are very clutch.

"Next man up" as they say.

  9. There's no way in h3ll that Smith and Pitta are more important in the offense than Q!! If that was the case,

why does Joe go to Boldin almost every time when they need a clutch play. Rewind to the Chargers game when it

was 4th and 29 who sprung the final block to allow Rice to get the 1st down, it was Q! Heck, Smith said himself during that play he was standing there watching.

Smith is basically a down field threat. Q, can and has done both this season.

Why you would even think Pitta was more important than Q is beyond words.

Sorry, but we'll have to agree to disagree on this one.

i agree with you on that. however, in the long term, Torrey and Dennis ARE more important. they are younger, and in a year or so they could become serious SERIOUS threats. meanwhile, Q is aging and although his play doesn't show it, he's got MAYBE three years left in him. as of right now I think that Boldin is more important, but if we're talking outside of the next season or two, Pitta and Smith are miles more important.

  10. i guess my main problem with doss is that his BIG thing was supposed to be that he had great hands. i would have had the same issue with Torrey if, during his two seasons here, he was slow. all I'm saying is that if you're marketed as a possession reciever, fans should be able to say that you are slow or you can't get seperation or whatever, but they should never be able to point at your hands and say that they are your weakest asset. once again, this is just from what I've seen, and I can't really be sure with Tandon until I see him a little more.

  11. i've seen enough of Doss. He's not Anquan he will never be Anquan.

We must keep Q. He is the receiver I've been waiting for ever since we got Flacco. Anquan and Torrey best tandem we've ever had. Wish Derrick Maosn was a little younger and still with us. Anquan, Torrey, Mason and Jacoby would be a solid secondary.

ik, ik. i have a pretty bad impression of doss right now, but he hasn't really played all that much, and it's not fair to compare a starter to someone who has played a lot less. he will probably never be Q, but i don't think many WRs will come our way anytime soon that are.
